With presumably the big bit being we go back with Anya because otherwise BJ and Anya would have never met. Grace/Spesh would have still met each other because he was her lawyer before the Nazis took America and that'd have still been an issue so that stays consistent, they just get a better ending.

Arthur Blaze was born to a polish mother so they still could have met probably under more peaceful circumstances

Also this game is surprisingly longer than the first game, which was depressingly short once you figured out how to beat everything. Not by all that much though.

2 is the same length as TNO and even has more "pure" gameplay (as in no gimmick stealth/vehicle sections or slow walking/stop and watch cutscenes and areas) than it despite its flaws. People think it's shorter because much less happens in the plot.

the amount of actual time you *play* the game instead of be subject to half-life 2 cutscene is like a full third more

however the levels that were in were just not balanced very well with chokepoints and stretches of "that was it, really"? that were minimal in the first game. it definitely needed an extra pass or two to iron those out.
