Weird admission, but the metal texture they used for items like the hookshot and the mirror shield, when you first pick them up? That used to transfix me as a kid. I'd watch the item rotate for a whole minute or two before moving on to the next part of the game, and I'm filled with a sense of fondness every time I see them.

Yes but think about this... if Orcana of Time has never come out and today in the year of our lord 2017 if I posted a link to a kickstarter for this cool new open world time traveling RPG I was making, and you scrolled down to the actual in game screenshots and saw this: ...how fast would you close the tab? Would you EVER consider playing this?

i didn't play this as a kid but i did when i was about 15 and got stuck in the first dungeon for like two hours just moving those spiders and not realizing there was an exit and then i realized that zelda games are basically loving trash. i hope this assists your research & i'm sorry to hurt your childhood memories with this searing take.

I really really liked the new Zelda on Switch and Wii U cause unlike it's predecessors it doesn't actually try to be the new OoT or Zelda in general.

It's Def a good game that the dev team loved making. It was the first game i beat by myself and it took me like a year or two. For a period of time all I did was go to baseball practice come home and play that game.
