Might & Magic X is good. Dungeon Rats (isometric) is also supposed to be good but I haven't played it. Lords of Xulima is also decent.

I was wondering if someone would be willing to trade a copy of No Man's Sky (as it just went on sale on Steam) for some Humble Keys.

I have:
Offworld Trading Company
Poker Night at the Inventory
Poker Night 2
Sam & Max Season 1
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record
Galactic Civilizations 3
Kingdom New lands Royal Edition

Just a long shot.

Since you're offering worthless bundle games in exchange for a $24 game, you can simply have it for free.

Don't know why that's so offensive to you, but I don't really want to drop 24 bucks on No Man Sky yet. At least the other party would get something for their money.

Anyway, I won't poo poo the thread up anymore talking about this.

I just beat Wolfenstein 2, I'll tidy up the side missions this weekend, but after that I'll be looking to start up a new FPS.

After perusing my library, here are the first person/shooter titles I have in my library that I've never attempted to play. Which should I load up next?

Dead Island (the original, not redux)
Metro 2033 & Last Light
RAGE
Vanishing of Ethan Carter (OG and Redux)

I get that the Metro games & RAGE are about the closest to the Wolf 2 in that list, but just going bang-bang shoot shoot isn't a huge priority. I really enjoyed the world building of Wolf 2 and don't mind putzing around inspecting corners and absorbing the environment, hence the Ethan Carter inclusion.

Any thoughts?

I recommend these and I recommend them to everyone and immediately: http://nolfrevival.tk/

NOLF1 is probably the best "modern" PC FPS ever made.

But why?
For some reason they chose a spastic retard to play it in their showcase video.

The reasons I liked NOLF1
Level design is super tight and actually fun to run around in and explore (and that exploration is rewarded with fun little secret sets, conversations, dossiers adding to flavor, etc..)

Guns are fun to shoot and you have a large variety available

Gadgets are super unique and fun to experiment with

It's actually funny & well-written/voice acted

I guess it just feels super well-paced and honestly felt like the PC's equivalent to the N64's Goldeneye (but even better)

I wasn't as impressed with the sequel but NOLF1 is pure gold.

It's way, way different. In W1, preparation was actually super important for fights and giving weight to the act is actually the best way to describe it, yeah. W2 lessened the importance, and W3 even moreso.

NOTE: Speaking from hardest difficulty on the entire trilogy for reference. On easy/normal difficulty, it never really mattered for any of them.

I came to the original Injustice a bit like you, where I had a lot of experience with character action games but pretty much none with fighters, and it was sort of a jarring experience that didn't mesh well with me.

In Bayonetta for example, in a punch-kick-punch combo you would wait for the initial punch to finish before hitting the kick button and so forth (at least that's what it felt like), which feels fluid and natural to me. But in Injustice (and I'm guessing the same goes for 2), you have to mash P-K-P before the initial punch even lands. There's probably a good reason for that, but it just put me completely off and I decided fighting games were not for me. (Though I wonder if it's the same sort of deal in Street Fighter or Tekken).

Anyways, I just wanted to throw a small warning to maybe try a demo before you buy to see if it's for you if they have one.

Edit: oh I see you bought it already. Well enjoy!
The Mortal Kombat style fighters (and Injustice) are effectively dial-a-combo. Like password key presses since the "combo" animation is already canned. Other fighters are usually more natural feeling.

Holy poo poo you guys, this Spec Ops discussion is like clockwork. Can we just pin an old thread since literally every angle or new hot take has been covered 50 billion times?

Speaking of Dark Souls III, how big's the player-base right now for anyone who's loaded it up after the monthly dropped? I still have DS2 SOFS to get through but I don't want to miss out on the DS3 MP aspect if there's currently a surge. Waiting until that Ring DLC gets a discount to snag before I load it up for the first time. When was that Steam Valentine's Day sale supposed to kick off? Can't find it on google at the moment.
