Major league hitters have struck out 21.6% of the time this year, which would be a record. It'd be the 10th straight year that that record has been broken. Joey Gallo is on pace for the most strikeouts/PA in a season ever, and Trevor Story and Miguel Sano are currently 3rd and 4th all-time (Fangraphs link) Truly, we are living in a golden age of failing to hit the baseball.
