Problem description: Posting for a friend I play games with regularly. Every mic he uses sounds like poo poo (staticky) and it drives me mad. He built a new computer and had the same problem on both. We talk over discord but he gets same issue with audacity so it seems to be a local issue.

Attempted fixes: Changed computers, tried different microphones, grounded my computer, tried other wall outlets, tried realtek HD audio manager. Mic cable is 3.5 but tried a 3.5 to usb adapter which helped quite a bit. Tried that USB in front and back USB ports.

Recent changes: New computer, otherwise none.
