I'll put in two pitches. First for Joe Junior, the diner on 3rd/17th. Get the burger deluxe, medium rare, tell them no plancha. Just a perfect diner burger and fries. Second, the Meat Hook burger at threes brewing on Douglas St in Park Slope. Butcher shop uses offcuts of their dry aged steaks to make a smashburger.

I burged for dinner tonight.  Grabbed some value rump steak from the shop, bit of onion and seasoning and smashed in a pan. The cheese is vacherin Fribourgois which is nice but maybe a bit strong. A pair of simple burgers, made with home-made patties: Minced meat mixed with paprika, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder - and covered with cheddar slice during cooking.  Christened a new grill. Two Costco 6oz patties which have all sorts of weird ingredients in them, I recall seeing chickpea flour on the list. American cheese, American mustard, sriracha, El Yucateco jalapeno. Bun not toasted due to flurry of activity. Good though.

Very nice looking burgers here!  I made the same as "always". Cheeseburger in style of The Menu. Just two balls of 17% ground beef smashed on the pan, salt, pepper, thinly sliced onions, two cheeses in each patty. Roasted the buns too. American style pickles and some bell pepper mayonnaise to both buns.
