*I don't expect it*

Just today is Friday. Chelsea Green is asking for her release from TNA and Mojo Rawley laid her boyfriend Zack Ryder out on Smackdown this week. There was a rumour about both wanting to work the indies as a double act two months ago. So if Zack does get released today I am deleting the first line of this post and claiming it as a total scoop.

Jimmy Jacobs confirmed on TaIk Is Jericho went to rehab after Wrestlemania this year for opiate abuse. Something left out of the reports of his firing.

I don't think the Wrestling media knew initially. But it did seem like later on they were left scrambling after hitting "he was fired for a photo" narrative so hard.

I wish I was confident that the Wrestling media just was covering for Jimmy. But this reeks of getting the Austin Aries firing story wrong to me.

The "he was fired for a photo" narrative obviously suited/helped The Bucks & Co. so you can speculate on issues there with the Wrestling media and who they take their cues from.

or, you know, give a guy battling a serious opiate addiction the necessary space to get better

Who are you referring to? The Wrestling media or WWE?

The Wrestling media distinctly didn't do that. They made a media circus over the "fired for a photo" thing. I know why Jimmy was fired and followed the reporting of it I strongly believe what I wrote in the above is accurate as I tracked what wasn't said or intimated by various reporters over the time Jacob's firing was in the news. I also spoke to friends of Jacobs at the time. I distinctly don't believe the media was covering for him as there was a clear change in tact about a week afterwards.

hosed up the WWE would fire a guy for going to rehab,

Jimmy said he left rehab and decided he didn't want to be in WWE anymore and found a way to get out.

So the "fired for a photo" narrative the media ran with was bogus as I said here at the time.

everyone?

And who cares. Why is this a hill to die on? A guy was battling an opiate addiction and some other story came out, intentionally or otherwise, that didn't openly blast his addiction problems to the world in the midst of him trying to get better. The "I tracked this stuff" crap honestly just makes you look sad more than it does Meltzer or whoever else.

Leave the loving thing be. All you're doing is using someone's very real addiction to get yourself over about Meltzer.

Why are you being so defensive? Why do think the only option is to "openly blast his addiction problems to the world"?

I am sorry that Meltzer's reporting standards and sources are slipping but they are. Read the Observer weekly follow up on what the story eventual ends up being. I sorry if that hurts your feelings or whatever.

And it isn't just a Meltzer thing other outlets did similar too. Satin's report almost certainly came from the Bucks's camp.

Okay, so if this is the case, you're basically condemning the wrestling media for not publicizing his irrelevant drug addiction. You keep mentioning how they didn't bring it up when mentioning his firing, yet readily admit it had nothing to do with why he was fired.

So essentially, you just want them to share it for the hell of it.

Makes sense.

You seem intent on thinking I am saying or thinking things that I am not.

You are the one deciding it is irrelevant. I think it is soley based on the Wrestling media reporting it when detailing people's employment history in the past. Also it was a largely part of why Jimmy was burnt out.

We aren't going in circles you are running your own race. You are the one blinding stating it isn't relevant or integral.

Morally I largely agree with your post. But to you seemingly it is either not mention it at all or headline the Observer with JACOBS IS A JUNKIE with absolutely no middle ground.

I don't even get why you think there is a major controversy here. Meltzer's initial analysis was off, the next week he published Jericho's thoughts on the matter a week later which included that Jericho thought he knew what would happen by posting that photo.

There's no major controversy just suggesting people shouldn't massively over react to initial reports and draw absolutes. Also Meltzer's ability to fully nail the story first week has lessened.
