I recently reread the Dune series (only Frank's stuff, jfc I tried his failson's stuff and I couldn't even get through one book) and I have to ask... What is this beefswelling?

They shot themselves out into space without any kind of navigation, and two facedancers/machines/what tried to throw up some sort of net to catch the ship and missed? That's pretty much it. Edit: unless you forgot about the bene gesserit merging with the honored matres after murbella took over

Yeah, the superhuman caloric needs was a nice touch, and I appreciated how different the food was described for Teg vs the sisterhood. Really made it feel like Teg was on a distant planet wolfing down strange but delicious food while the sisterhood was eating poo poo we ancient savages would recognize immediately.

Seriously, does anyone ever wear their loving stillsuit mask? Do they even have stillsuit masks in any of the images? (Yes, I know it's unreasonable to expect actors in a movie to have their mouth covered, but can they at least have them and just pretend to use them all the time?) Not gonna let that ruin my enjoyment of the actual movie, but man does it bother me when I have nothing but some leaked stills from a goddamn trailer that I can't even watch yet. Edit: whoops, just noticed the mask, please ignore this post

BrutalistMcDonalds posted:the good news is that the nature of hollywood investments these days is that it's almost impossible for them to fail financially now. the market is so big you have to gently caress up pretty badly to lose money I agree, but I mean a hit in terms of how the studio determines what projects to push next. They definitely won't lose money, and they'll most likely make a large amount of money, but whether that's enough for studio execs to view it as something worth pursuing for multiple sequels is another matter entirely.

Heaven forbid I try one out, the whole landsraad gets a bug up its rear end about the Great Convention. I mean, what's the point of having these atomics if you're never gonna use them?
