I think we all need to be mindful about what *distance* compact guns will 2 shot you at. They definitely won't at long and med'ish ranges from what I'm seeing.

Yeah I'm digging the new update, but there seem to be server issues going on as of late. About 1/3 of the games we play have our pings jump up anywhere from 100 - 300+ (when I normally get about 15 for West coast). Sounds like this might be addressed tomorrow with their backend update.

With the compact ammo damage changes, is there any point to the Pax vs a regular Caldwell Conversion now? According to the stats, the former's only a little bit better across the board, with just two extra meters of range over the Caldwell at quadruple the price.

So something to keep in mind is that the "effective range" stat just means the range that you can 1 hit kill a full health hunter with a *headshot.* I'd think that the damage drop offs for body shots is going to differ still since one is compact ammo while the other is medium. It really depends what distance we're talking about, but yeah the weapons don't seem so super different from each other now compared to before. Here's a recent graph for the updated drop offs changes. Medium ammo is also going to be better at doing damage through surfaces. Edit: I should also add that compact has a higher head shot multiplier than medium, which is why these weapons have a similar "effective range" stat. Yeah medium ammo is still worth it generally. In this game with damage falloff and limb multipliers, the difference in a few points of damage and effective range can really be the difference between life and death. And like he said, bullet penetration is amazing.

the other thing of course to keep in mind is the higher velocity of medium ammo, so actually getting a hit at longer range will be easier than with compact.

On the subject of ammo: when did they make the dolch use special? On top of the 750 pricetag it's pretty punishing now for a pistol that is solid but nowhere nearly as insane as it used to be - especially compared to how lethal the other low/mid range guns are now. Good old crytek using test server metrics where everything is free.

I get that it lived side by side with the Vet almost eternally but with the new small ammo buff it feels a good deal less oppressive - don't see it nearly as often now. Probably a good thing? Because when you think about it, every gun in this game has a "I think it needs x", its just for lower tier weaposn its commonly "a higher ROF" or "more damage". The dolche already does both of those so it still needs SOME drawback. Its good balance, and honestly right now this game has some of the best weapon balance I've ever seen.

Solo is actually rather fun in this game. You really have to pick your fights but it's often way too easy to kill two teams fighting each other. So much chaos. It's also amusing when a team really wants to kill you and will spend 20 minutes chasing you across the map.

It's generally the best way to quantify mouse sensitivity. So when I say 14.3 inches/360, that means it takes 14.3 inches of horizontal mouse movement along my pad for the character to rotate 360 degrees in-game.

Yeah, yer on the faster side of the spectrum. I'm more towards the slower but I've got a super wide mouse pad. I use my arm to do the more distant turns, and then make use of my wrist/fingers for the finer movements. This might be a relevant post: https://www.reddit.com/r/FPSAimTrainer/comments/e13p12/cm360_graphs_for_pro_players_across_r6_quake/ (note that it's in cm) You might want to consider slowing it down a bit so that you're less prone to over-correct. It would definitely be a big adjustment that will gently caress with your muscle memory for a while. Ultimately it's a matter of preference though.
