I'm really enjoying the hockey at these Olympics. Enough that I might start watching it outside of the games. The only sport I've considered doing that for before is boxing, but professional boxing is filled with a turdlike attitude for everyone involved, fan or fighter.

If you don't/haven't watched much hockey outside of these Olympics then the NHL is going to look absolutely phenomenal to you, definitely get into it, hockey played well is awesome :)

Am I the only one who totally expected Canada to not reach the finals overall without any NHL player nor prospect on the lineup? Like their current position (a potential 3rd or 4th) pretty much places them around where I thought they'd be, if not above expectations.

LOL no, I 100% didn't expect them to reach the finals, and I wouldn't even be surprised if they don't medal.

I mean, there were 364 Canadian NHL players last year. Literally every single one of them is better than Derek Roy right now. You can't take out the top 350 players of a sport and still expect Canada to win gold, the fact that they're actually in a position to medal at all is pretty phenomenal. I mean, I realize America has also lost all their good players, but most of the other countries still had options that were better than First Line Player Mason Raymond and alternate captains that I've literally never heard of.
