Winky the Cleaning Imp is shiny and well-polished, with a speck of dust eternally stuck in his eye. Winky was gallivanting through the nether-realm on his way to work when he was plucked through a fiendish sorcerer's summoning portal!

Dirty, dirty, this human hovel he'd been brought to was so dirty! Everything in the little shoemaker's storefront was covered in a thick layer of dust and grime - no wonder no one was coming in to buy any shoes! All it needed was a good cleaning before the night was through, and then business would pick up! Got to make everything spic and span for the master human customers!

When Winky the Cleaning Imp returned to the shoemaker's shop the following night, he tried a questing sip of something foul and dark that had been left in of the mug of the shoemaker, and now all he wanted to do was polish!

Get some polishing rags over here and let's put an infernal spit-shine on that leather! What leather? Why, ALL the leather! Shoe leather, belt leather, furniture leather, cow leather, it didn't make a difference - if it was made out of leather it was getting thoroughly polished tonight!

Winky the Cleaning Imp popped back into the mundane plane of the humans' existence once again with his familiar coterie of fellow implings, all part and parcel of that contract they'd placed with their summoner, who...

Well, truth be told their mortal summoner wasn't looking so hot. That's what happens when you don't issue the proper command-and-bind spells on your summoned underlings - the silly, dying human was practically asking to get hogtied and cut to ribbons by his own infernal creations! Winky looked the summoner Gottfried in his panic-stricken eyes and winked several times as he considered what to do...

On one claw, there was the shoemaker's needs. On the other claw, there was the shoemaker's brother, this in-over-his-head summoner. If their summoner were to die, they wouldn't be able to fulfill their contract in full, now would they?!

Still, all that ruddy sorcerer blood. It was as delicious to drink as it was invigorating. The only problem was, it tended to spurt all over the place due to the thrashing movements of the summoner. It was making a real mess, and frankly that bothered Winky. How were they going to use the man-blood if they couldn't keep it all it one place?

"Stop struggling, silly human!" Winky commanded, insistent. "Your blood's getting everywhere!"

Winky the Cleaning Imp began cleaning the blood off of Gottfried and Gottfried's things, collecting the valuable magical-latent material for later use. Winky also managed to clean and dress the summoner's wounds in freshly-shredded linens so that the bloody sorcerer's bandages can be salvaged for their lovely red blood. Waste not, want not!

Winky the Cleaning Imp flitted about the shoemaker's shop like a cacodemon with its head cut off. The night prior, some absolute jokester had gone and coated most everything in the storefront in solid hell-gold and forgot to polish it all into a sparkly, gleaming luster! It would tarnish this way...

Good thing Winky was here to wipe that hellmarked gold clean of it infernal residue. When Winky was through with it, the gold would shine like the very heavens themselves!

Oh, but this gold coating has gotten everywhere! If only Winky had some Teeny Bat Wings then this work would be so much easier!

Winky the Cleaning Imp hadn't known Lotti the Shoemaker's apprentice for very long, but he could tell that the growing human girl had a lot of potential as an infernal sorceress.

The problem was, human magic school was expensive. If Lotti was ever going to learn to summon bigger, proper demons she'd need to be classically trained by the masters first. Maybe if the shoemaker could afford to send her off to school that'd be a different story, but as it stood Rodrick the shoemaker couldn't part with the girl apprentice - she was far too important to the family business. Lotti was crucial for freeing up the tasks of her parents, it seemed, and a lot of the chores she had to do for involved cleaning. Sweeping up the shop, cleaning up the shoemaker's materials, organizing the shoemaker's tools, scouring pots and pans, polishing the finished shoes - all of these tasks fell under Lotti's purview.

What if Lotti was free to do as she pleased tomorrow?

Winky decided to clean out the young apprentice's to-do list by doing Lotti's chores for the upcoming week.

Winky the Cleaning Imp could see what was going on, despite his uniquely-conspiratorial visual impairment. All this grease soaking the walls and surfaces of the shoe shop, all these burning wax candle-ends piling up everywhere - it was like someone was trying to start a fire make a huge mess of the place!

"Daltooooooooon~!" Winky screamed in a piercing squeak, wringing his tiny fists to the seven heavens hells. That little meddlesome dirt magnet was up to something hellishly fiendish again, Winky could tell.

"That's it," Winky declared loudly to himself. "It's late enough in the rainy season - it's spring cleaning time!" He took a handful of what the good Physicker Imp Pity was handing out and set to work.

Winky knew that the entire interior of the shoeshop and the shoemaker's home was going to need a major structural overhaul, and soon. The wardrobes would need sorting, the drawers would need re-organizing, the tools and work table would need to be cleaned and sanded down. The walls would need a fresh coat of paint and a good de-greasing... Winky started removing everything of value and moving it all outside behind the shop, where it could be cleaned in the open air and fresh moonlight, as was proper. Family heirlooms, jewelry, silverware, prized furniture, paintings, rugs, personal mementos, all the things that mattered to the silly humans most, Winky threw into the priority bin.

Cleaning Out the House of Valuables - Spring Cleaning Style!: 1d10+5 12 (:siren:13:siren: with fangs)

Once the shoemaker's shop and home had been completely gutted and all the shoemaker's worldly possessions moved outside, the thorough cleaning of the shop interior could properly begin - good thing Winky had recently grown out his wings!

With all the extra time his wings afforded him, Winky set aside time to work on a little side project he'd concocted. Winky theorized that hell-made gold was just as good for getting Lotti into magic school as any mundane earth-made gold, you just needed the right cleaning agents and some elbow grease and the infernal bindings on the gold could be rubbed right off!

Winky was just a small-time Cleaning Imp when all this summoning business started. Now here he was, on night six (Six SIX!) on the mundane material plane of the mortals with more work ahead of him. He donned his Turquoise Rubber Cleaning Gloves and (with a noise like *BAMF*) he hell-gated himself into the empty spaces of the shoeshop and the shoemaker's home, to take stock of the night's work ahead of him.

Gold! Hellmarked gold was everywhere! It had spread across the walls, the floors, and the ceiling of the shoeshop, it was cropping up in trades with anyone and everyone the imps did business with.

"Midas?! But of course!" The transmutation imp had been busy this last week, doing what he loved most. Still, the work he did left it sloppily obvious to anyone with basic training in appraisal magic that the gold that was created in such a way was Hellmarked and thus (sadly) worthless for buying things in the material plane! Silly humans and your laws, there were still ways of getting around such restrictions!

Winky gathered up all the Hellmarked Gold he could and got to work polishing and shining it into a heavenly sheen! By the time he was done, no one would be able to tell the difference between the Hellmarked gold and the real thing!

Strip off that demonic taint! Purge that hellmark! Buffing clean the Hellmarked Gold: 1d10+6 16

Winky found that, at the end of the night, he still had some time to do a little courier work. He went back to the site of his summoning (Gottfried's dorm room) in order to get some cleaning done, and to pick up something special for Lotti:

Cleaning Up Gottfried's Skull for Demi-Lichdom: 1d3+6 7

Cleaning, polishing, and preparing a skull as a phylactery for a demi-lich took some work, but Winky thought he'd done a good job with the first two steps! Now all it needed was a little Sorcerous oomph to get Gottfried's soul inside, and then it would ready to give to Lotti as a gift!

"Torb, do you think you could help me with this?" The cleaning imp proffered the shiny skull to Torb the Sorcerimp. He'd know what to do with it.

Winky the Cleaning Imp couldn't rightly tell what was going on any more. Time had been frozen, then reversed, and then it started playing back again at regular speed, only Winky and the other imps were free to move about as they pleased, separated from their previous night's selves! How odd (and oddly convenient)!

"Thanks Flux!" Winky chimed, once the realization of whose work was at play set in. All Winky had needed was a little more time to complete his cleaning project, after all...

On his teensy bat wings, Winky flitted about the Hellmarked gold in the shoe shop, busying himself with buffing out the very last signs of any Hellmarkings. Soon this gold would be human-legal tender!

Buffing Out All that Hellmarked Gold! One Last Time!: 1d3+6 8

But wait, what was that - a nosy Undercover Time Cop had come snooping around their infernal operation? Why, Winky had a couple cleaning agents and rubbing powders up his metaphorical, metaphysical sleeves that were perfect for times like these! Time to perform a good old mind-scrub on the good chrono-gumshoe! After all, you can't spell 'lawful' without 'awful!'
