It'll be Deus Ex with maps big enough that you can do some driving and other GTA style poo poo without feeling too constrained. At least, that was my understanding. The various city sectors are still discrete areas with hard loading zones between them, yes?

Insofar as it's an RPG and locked first person, it's going to play more deus ex than gta. I'm sure janky FPS RPG combat will only strengthen that impression. If there are going to be loading screens between zones that's the first time I'm hearing it.

Its kinda wild how hyped this thread is about a game they have contradictory ideas or straight uo incorrect information about. I have no idea how people are getting the deus ex comparison from beyond they are both rpgs with cyberpunk elements

The marketing is pretty brilliant: "From the makers of The Witcher 3" lets everyone who played that game or heard about it know that it is a ~serious~ rpg that will have detailed quests, characters, and a compelling story. At the same time, Joe Sixpack the Gamer just sees "Keanu Reeves in future GTA!" and will either be happily surprised at the quality of the writing and quests compared to GTA (easy win for CDPR) or happy that the new dialogue system seems to mostly eschew cutscenes, allowing impatient players to just shoot through the boring parts like the psychopaths they are!

I hope you can climb anything that you can jump up high enough to grab onto like in Dying Light. There's video of V climbing ontop of a shipping crate thing but maybe that's just a situational scripted event which would ruin my life

Nah, most of the game will be ground level with everything above maybe a floor or two being related to set-pieces and skyboxes. You ain't gonna be free-soloing skyscrapers in this game.

Is there supposed to be stealth in this game? From the very first gameplay video I gotten the impression that there will be stealth but everything since has been about going full shooty bang bang only.

Shooty bang bang makes for better trailers. They’ve said there is stealth, and other non combat options such as talking your way out of a fight. They’ve also mentioned a no-kill run might be possible, though a no shooting at all run won’t be.

I mean, the writer still speaks of "limited genital options". Really? If there's an option to control package size, which was alluded there is, it surely should allow to emulate various stages of intersex. It's not likely this game will allow you to run around naked. Limited? The other option to avoid all the current drama would have been to ignore the existence of transgendered people altogether in the game context, but then everyone would have jumped on the barricades for that. I think this is the most confusing thing for me. Buying a game in a PS5 case.. it’s pretty clear. But buying one in a PS4 case vs downloading it from the store, or recent games I already own like Ghosts of Tsushima and TLOU2.. it’s so confusing. I’m sure they’ll all run smoother or faster even before they receive some PS5 update, right? But the PS4 version either physically or digitally and you’ll get a patch that makes it run better day one. There’ll be a bigger patch next year with more unspecified improvements.
