Fucks sake why would they not do this?

Unless something changes between now and release I'd wager its because each main studio (Treyarch, Sledgehammer, Infinity Ward) has a different branch of the engine COD runs on.

MW2 and arguably Black Ops 1 were the last CODs with good multiplayer map layouts that accommodated various playstyles. It's all downhill past that even if the games are still fun.

Does anyone remember what Black Ops 1 video it was back in the day that had goons (?) playing in Havana with someone from the US putting on a British accent and talking about showering in brandy and how the UK's official sport was quidditch?

Only tangentially related to this thread but I remembered Wings of Redemption and onlyusemeblade today after nearly a decade and went looking what happened to them and yikes. :smith:

I'm not surprised people have taken to using sniper rifles as shotguns, the map design in this game is so cramped that there's very few places where someone can use them properly. MW2/BO1 was the last time the franchise had some decent map design that worked well with multiple playstyles.

People have been using sniper rifles as shotguns since at least MW2, if not since CoD4.

Yeah but at least those games had places that could be used as sniping spots because you had a decent view of the map or part of it. This has gotten increasingly rare in later entries as they started focusing more and more on making the pacing even faster and making multiplayer map layouts more compact.

Unlocking the zombie skins for Blackout is a pain in the rear end. Landing in a zone with zombies hoping you won't get killed by other players, hoping for a random item drop to get the character's mission, then doing that mission which is usually something really situational like running someone over while in a vehicle or a melee kill. Fail any of that and you have to do it all over again. :argh:
