Browns go 8-8 as Mayfield to Gordon becomes a thing but is still not enough to mitigate the rest of the team's flaws, especially Mayfield being under pressure with the loss of Thomas.
Eagles go 10-6 and make it to the NFCCG and lose to the Green Bay Packers. They are the only NFCE team to make the playoffs.
Dak Prescott has another not-so-great season and the Cowboys end up with a 5-11 season, launching them into the QB hunt next draft.
Watson is not nearly as great as the hype would have you believe. Mahomes, however, exceeds the hype.
Derek Carr has another MVP-esque season and the Raiders end 8-8 because Gruden cannot coach anymore.
The Titans go 6-10. The Jaguars have a 12 win season. Bortles plays better than Mariota.
Tom Brady gets hurt 5 games into the season and for the first time in ever another AFCE team wins the division. I'm going with the Dolphins who surprise everyone with an energized Tannehill.
Joe Flacco is not the starting QB for the Ravens by the end of the season.
The Green Bay Packers win the superbowl led by a dominant performance by Aaron Rodgers and a great run by Jamaal Williams in the playoffs. The Chargers almost win, however.

By the way, if the Bills lose Shady to him being arrested for being a sick, evil bastard, 6 wins is probably the ceiling. He's literally the entire offense barring them pulling a good QB/RB/WR out of the trash heap that is our depth(this won't happen).
On the plus(?) side, connoisseurs of clown ball and games without offense may have something to look forward to.

Tom Brady has some kind of weird existential crisis and shuts down his TB12 locations and turns them into Golden Corrals. He starts smoking on the field and hanging out with Jay Cutler.

Strong stroll for a mangy stray
I like to keep my predictions as vague as possible, giving them a better chance to come true.

The NFC East is going to be competitive into the last couple weeks.
Titans take the two seed in the AFC.
Ben performs poorly and the Steelers lose their first playoff game.
The Cardinals easily make the over.
The Browns are still really bad although they win a couple games. Baker eventually takes the field and looks awful.
Worst record in the league: Buffalo Bills
Best record in the league: Patriots
Out of all the new QBs who take the field, Josh Rosen looks the best by a good margin.
Top seed in the NFC: Rams
Vikings win the NFC North with Green Bay getting a wild card.

Like, I can get that you think Patricia will be a dumpster fire, that's fine.* But at the same time, Caldwell wasn't exactly a beacon of coaching talent himself, and the Lions never got fewer than 7 wins under his tenure. The team has a lot of talent on it, especially on the offense-where, crucially, we still have the same OC from the last half of 2015 and the 2016/17 seasons.

I mean seriously, the Lions play the AFC East, NFC West, NFC North, the Panthers, and the Cowboys. It's a tough schedule on the upper end, but if you don't think the Lions can pull off at least 6-7 wins against the dregs I don't know what to tell you.

My own prediction is that the Lions will probably have a decent year, maybe somewhere between 9-11 wins, a possible playoff berth, and a first-round loss if they make it in. The O-line has been strengthened and very likely won't suffer the same horrendous injuries as last year, the WR group is one of the best in the league, and now that Caldwell's gone we might actually have a running game again. Defense is iffy, but so long as they aren't bottom of the barrel the offense should be able to carry the team a good deal. Frankly, the only guaranteed loss I see on the schedule even if everything clicks is the Rams, since LA is stacked as gently caress and is going to be loving terrifying this year.

Of course, the wheels could come off completely, but I honestly feel that the team is talented enough that they should be able to at least limp to a mediocre finish.

*Personally I disagree, I feel our new rapist coach will at the very least be marginally adequate.

This is more cogent analysis than how I did my non-NFC East predictions so you're probably right.

I still have a weird feeling the Lions will disappoint this year though.

In fairness the Lions disappointing is always a safe bet.

If you're not striving to improve, you'll end up going backwards.
Not giving the Rams at least a WC spot is a bold prediction.

Yeah, I'm gambling on the Seahawks not regressing and the Niners improving with Jimmy G. Either of those fails to happen and they're probably in.

So if i were to re-do yours, I would have the Saints as the NFC South winner and the Rams taking the WC spot over the Hawks (who are turbofucked)

You wore that on Halloween?
I bet money with a friend that Jared Goff would have more passing touchdowns and passing yards than Matthew Stafford this year

That is a... bold bet, considering Stafford threw for 600 more yards than Goff last year with one of the worst offensive lines of his career. I mean, I'm not saying it's not possible, but the one thing you can always count on Stafford for is throwing for a fuckton of yards.

I currently have the following bets with a coworker who loves the Chiefs.

Miami will have more than 5 wins - $100
KC will have less than 12 wins - $100

Betting on any team having 12+ wins is nuts. And Miami should be able to get to 6 wins easy given that they have an actual QB this year.

Congrats on your free $200!

We’re both lawyers lol you don’t think we did?

Regular season wins. He thinks KC is easy Super Bowl fav.

He also said Cutler helped Miami last year better than Tanne ever did so without him they’re a 5 win team *at best*
