The best part about the MN results so far is that primary turnout really does predict the general election results very well!

i was wondering why the Working Families Party hadn't sent me anything about Bryce in a while, i guess he's a deadbeat dad or something? regardless it owns that he won his primary we're quick to blame the party for promoting bad candidates and rightfully so, but the fact is that voters are plenty stupid too, especially when it comes to statewide races

The thing is the more nationally identified leftists like Bryce had opponents that largely agreed with them, disagreeing only in degree. It's a Sanders oriented incoming class next Nov. Except for Ed Case, who is a goddamn horror show.

Polls are basically useless. The best prediction for general elections, the only predictive data worth examining, is primary turnout

one thing I'll say about the WI Gov race is that I'm actually really surprised that Paul Soglin got piledriven this hard. I expected him to be a top 3 finisher, he ended up being 7th out of 8 It didn't hurt that the Madison vote got drawn off to Mitchell/Roys but still

get that OUT of my face posted:it was a pretty clear-cut difference between Kara Eastman and her opponent too. idk about the people who beat Greg Edwards and Brent Welder Welder's opponent Sharice David was a identity superstar who was lesbian, Native American, and trans, but wasn't really talking the talk on healthcare or even pot legalization. Still, her background seems marginalized enough that it's not impossible to push her towards supporting more and more left positions, so it's not like the Case win.
