Do you think the loop will actually be converted into useful infrastructure once it fails? Or will telsa just reserve it as a sarcophagus for elon musk?

320kph is still pretty good though. Like a maglev that way would be the fastest way to travel between LA and san fransisco wouldn't it (accounting for the time you have to spend waiting at the airport)?

I don't think that little wall is going to stop a 72 ton locomotive with 25,000 pound-feet of tractive effort.

the wall is for humilating him its removing the tracks thats the actual punishment.

where those pictures about life outside of Sodor?

TBF there still is the story of that surplus WW1 locomotive being turned into a steam generator and abandoned in a shed for over a century. of course in the books the narrow gauge line wasnt run by the fat controller

i bought the train simulator humble bundle and i dont think the physics are up to par because I managed to derail a train while merging onto another line like 3 to 5 miles under the speed limit and the whole train launched into space.

i, too, got a bundle with train sim some time ago, and it's bad, OP
really bad. i just wanted to drive a stupid old 4-4-0 but despite having graphics from the mid 00s, it runs terrible and the physics are even worse.

check out derail valley on steam IMO, it's great.

it's less ~realistic~ but it's good fun with a bunch of tasks and poo poo you can take at various stations on the map instead of just a couple lovely scenarios, and it supports VR. early access + slow development pace warning tho. like it's a complete game and it's fun for what it is, and worth the 20 bux imo, but it is also fairly barebones still.

also driving the steamer in VR is a lot of loving work lmao

I'll consider it but I might just wait for diesel railcar simulator to put a steam locomotive in ten years from now

e: oh wait that's one of the things they say they aren't gonna do rip.
