There are so many shirtless Archie scenes for no reason in this episode. It's been a long summer. That fuckin' cliffhanger

The post-coital scene between FP and Alice followed by one between Jughead and Betty was... a choice. Also lol at Ethel immediately trying to kill herself after kissing Jughead. Shneak fucked around with this message at 04:50 on Oct 26, 2018 |

Betty and Veronica vowed they'd never have boy drama between them after they made out at the beginning of season one. But yes, I'd do unspeakable things to get an Archie/Betty relationship.

The writers will literally get death threats from insane teenage girls if they ever break up Bughead long-term.

Man this show has out-loving-done itself with the insanity to the point where I don't know if the characters are hallucinating or seeing this for real anymore. Also it sucks to have S1 evil abusive Alice Cooper back.

Ethel's not dead, she's at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy, which is probably worse.

I like how Archie's like "I'm from a small town called Riverdale" as if it hasn't been all over the news for the last year due to the rampant serial killer and the board game cult seemingly sweeping the rest of upstate New York.

This was 'people reveal their master plans to each other:' the episode. Not going to lie though, I'm v disappointed that the Gargoyle King is just an urban legend from the Sisters of Quiet Plot Convenience somehow laced into hallucinogenic candy by Hiram. Actually, reading that sentence back, am I?

I choose to believe this season is just a fever dream Archie’s having on his death bed.

This show is so depressing and it doesn't even know it. Betty breaking out the kids from Quiet Mercy only for her mom to steal her money to help the cult farm buy back the place and house the kids again, going back to square one. But it's cool, here's another Archie/Veronica sex scene.

Phylodox posted:What makes you think the show isn’t perfectly aware of how depressing it is? Do you think it’s just coincidence that the Sisters of Quiet Mercy escapees are being sent right back there under the control of yet another cult? I think it's the whiplash from scenes like Betty being sassy to her serial killer dad and "Aunty" and Veronica singing a spanish ballad in a speakeasy

Space Cadet Omoly posted:Is anyone else just super sick of the farm plot-line? I think I've hit the wall with this one, I'm ready for Betty to hurry up and kill them all Jason Voorhees style so we can move on to something new. the Farm, the boxing hobby, Veronica doing 32 y.o. businesswoman things. Replace all these scenes with Betty/Alice acting incredibly.

lmao okay what At first I was like there's no way Hal actually died on the bus, he somehow escaped like Michael Meyers. But nobody else except Betty had any interaction with what she saw on prom night and the Black Hood never spoke to her, so either The Farm set it up to reel her in or she hallucinated it? But then I can also see him being alive to kill the farm and wrap that story up for Alice.

Space Cadet Omoly posted:Also, I had somehow totally forgotten that Cheryl had taken home the stuffed corpse of her dead brother at the end of last season, so that was a real "what in the everloving gently caress?" moment for me. I wonder if there were any non-Riverdale viewers that watched just for Luke Perry who were immediately greeted with that and what they thought. I'm surprised the episode stuck to the canon and wasn't a straight standalone story. I skipped the season 3 recap on Netflix and forgot why Toni was holding a white baby and Hermione was in prison.

Riverdale Season 4: “While he... *massive eye roll*... takes off in his rocket.” This episode was loving bonkers. One scene is a cult leader blackmailing a child for 250k CUT TO two schoolboys arguing about a mundane book report. I would have never predicted that's how the farm plotline would be resolved.* *resolved is a stretch because the Black Hood and Gargoyle King are still a thing.

The Jughead murder plot is dumb because we've known it's basically staged for 14 episodes. We just don't know how staged. Archie and Veronica have to be in on it, right? I would be pissed if my best friends gaslit me like that but then again, I can see how Betty wouldn't trust them to shut up.
