If you add an l (lowercase L) right before the period in .jpg to your imgur links it will downsize it to "large" eg good posting size automatically for you

Jose posted:What is the Salton sea We had an irrigation accident that flooded a desert valley east of LA, and then decided to make a beach resort out of it. It was briefly glamorous, until everyone realized that having no outlet except evaporation and a ton of farm runoff mean it was getting more progressively more toxic. Now it's just still doing that, and also shrinking, surrounded by decrepit beach town ruins that are increasingly far from the receding beach. It also reeks of dead fish and salt. I was there too semi-recently. It's kinda cool in a "what the gently caress even is this" sort of way. The part of the beach I was on wasn't comprised of sand; instead there were tiny dead creature shells and bones. Everything constructed is falling apart, closed, and abandoned except that for some reason at the north end there's a real town that people still appear to live in. I guess it's where the farmers go to buy stuff? Edit: here's a close-up picture of the dead shell beach:

I didn't see that thing; I don't think we found the "town" that had a marina. Assuming that's a real boat and not a themed playground thing. Hard to tell now that it's... that.
