Well, fuck. Really?

Iron Man
PP: 1 XP: 2

Iron Man breaks away to the left from the War Machine armor, circling around the squad of eleven in a dazzling display, spiraling in the air and activating retroboosters to slow himself so he hovers over a hundred feet above them. When he speaks, his voice is booming and full of power and bravado. "Iron Man lives again, pitiful minions of my old nemesis, Apocalypse! You wield technology beyond your understanding, so let us test the limits of your training and equipment!"

Doom extends an arm, palm first, and grips his wrist with his other hand. His lips move soundlessly beneath his mask, channeling mystical energies through his armor to swirl about the aperture built into his palm. Stark had an interesting design for refractor blasts, which Doom had gladly modified to better suit his combat needs. With but a thought, the suit begins to reroute power from its bionic enhancement systems to its energy assault systems, and Victor chuckles.

Lashing his arm back and then slamming it forward, Doom bellows out an arcane phrase that unleashes the power building up in his armor, mixing technological might with the supernatural. A scintillating sphere of energy launches from his palm, and is moments later lanced by the blasts from his armor; the two energies mixing prove to be incredibly volatile, and the sphere morphs and splits, raining countless beams of explosive energy down upon the Purifier rank and file, as well as Omega Red himself. The blasts detonate on contact, spraying dirt and concrete shrapnel and bathing Doom's foes with immense energy.

High above the carnage, Doom's cloak billows ominously as he folds his arms across his chest, watching for the dust to die down to assess his success.

Omega Red screams in rage and defiance, as the Purifiers surrounding him try to scatter and avoid the onslaught. Doom's cocktail of arcane and technological might is too much to withstand or dodge however. Half the squad nearest to Omega Red is reduced to rubble and red stains on the ground around them, while the sole survivor is 'merely' blown away a dozen or so feet away on the other side of what remains of this section of highway. A similar grisly result befell the squad closest to Doom and Castle as well, though it was even worse. Some of them lost limbs or even heads in the attack, while the others were knocked off the turnpike entirely, no doubt falling to their deaths or crippling wounds. Likewise, only a single member remained.

The leader or specialist of the group Omega Red, likewise takes a massive beating from the barrage. For a moment, he lays in a crater that looks like it could break apart and send him crashing down to the ground any minute, before he rolls back up. As he does so, you notice his snow white flesh was ripped clean to bloodless bone or a dark, starless night toned chared black from the energy attack on everywhere that wasn't protected by his Carbonadium armor. His blonde flowing hair was gone, now just more ash on his dilapidated highway. Red's Soviet super suit was in better shape, remaining unrent or split open from the assault, even if it was smoking and glowing from the heat. Only his red eyes remained untouched, as they stare with both hate and glee at Foom, looking even more like a wraith in his current state.

He was healing right in front of you. His skin going from black to white, bone to thin, red muscle, and as soon as his lips returned, a smile on his face appeared. "Hahaha? Stark? I thought Nemesis ripped you in half? Maybe I can be a Horseman if I finish that Failson's job."

Omega Red: 15; one doom die spent to activate his SFX healing factor; Squad 1: 15, Squad 2: 13. Squad 1 and Squad 2 are reduced to 1d8. Punisher can very well finish EVERYONE off in his next attack after that devastating barrage.

Shuri enters the tunnel network, choosing to crawl along the tunnel's ceiling rather than lower herself into the water. If asked, she'd say it was a tactical maneuver to get the drop on her enemies, but in truth, she just doesn't want to traipse through sewer water, not even to test just how well the water-proofing on the panther habit is. Her finicky manners are justified, however, when the mutant trio stumble down the tunnel and pass, unseeing, beneath her, followed closely by a pair of hunters.

The Black Panther presses herself against the tunnel roof and lets the purifiers draw closer, then she leaps. She aims right for the colonizer dressed in ridiculous animal pelts and latches onto his energy spear with her vibranium talons. "Challenge accepted, hunter," she says. War Machine
PP: 0 | XP: 2 | Stepped Back: Gatling Gun, Missiles, Repulsors

Doom had their attention, insofar as "killing most of them instantly" counted as getting people's attention. Frank drops down from above and slows to a stop next to Doom as Omega Red speaks, gatling gun already spinning up, missiles exposed, and repulsor humming. He doesn't say anything; he just lets Omega contemplate how doomed he is for a moment. War Machine and Iron Man were back in action.

Then Frank unleashes absolute devastation on the freeway beneath him. His gatling gun and missiles are both set to their HE Ammo mode, filling the air with shrapnel and tearing apart everything they touch. He hammers both repulsors into the cloud at random, sweeping fire back and forth across Omega Red and the surviving Purifiers. The barrage carries on for several seconds longer than it probably needs to. Frank was never someone for "restraint." When he stops, his gatling gun has started to glow red at the tips, and smoke rises from his overstressed repulsors. At least three alarms were chirping in his helmet. He was drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. But he was smiling at the cloud of dust and rubble that was only now starting to settle.

For once, it really did feel good to be back.

Welp, time to mop up and add an immense amount of chaos to the scene in the process. Spending 1 PP to activate Full Power Barrage and using High-Explosive Ammo to take an extra d6 for each target and keep an extra effect die for each one.

Frank has a hard time counting causalities as the dusk settles, as the entire section of highway begins collapsing around where Doom's and Castle's barrages hit. Buses, compacts, even a rusted blue Mini-Cooper, falls from the rapidly expanding edge or is swooshed between hard and large slaps of falling concrete. You see three bodies dropping to the ground below. Two, the rank and profile Purifiers, are clearly dead given just how much is missing from their bodies. Omega Red...instead looks like he's intentionally dropping down, completely failing to hide in the quickly dissipating cloud of dust. Still, he's dropping down fast and into the forest...he just might be able to get away.

Mooks get a pathetic 4 and 9 respectfully. Dead as door nails. Omega gets lucky number 19, after I spend one doom die to the add the d6 in Team to knock his 13 up, scratches by with now d8 in stress after downgrading it with one doom die again to use his healing factor! Omega might be a serial killer, but he isn't dumb, so he's booking it with a total of Just loving 9. so he's running, but uh, I think Castle is playing for keeps and can very well knock him out with your next attack Dash...speaking of which

Castle, if you would be so kind, please inform our soldiers in waiting that the ambush is no longer necessary, and have them meet up with us. We will need to fall in and support Princess Shuri and the others."

Once Viktor is assured nothing more of use can be found upon the form of Red Omega, he stands, gesturing for Castle to take a step back. Regardless of Frank's response, Viktor clenches his fists and squares his shoulders, elbows bent and chest thrust forward; he utters a short incantation and fires an unfocused beam of energy from the reactor on his chest, supplemented by his sorcery. He intends to incinerate the body and head of Omega; previous run ins with Wolverine had taught him the value of insuring a regenerator is truly dead.

Viktor's stance relaxes once the job is done, and he brushes dirt and debris that had been kicked up by the blast from his armor. "We must be certain Red does not arise again on our tail, nor that any sorcerer or scientist in Apocalypse's employ is capable of bringing him once again to his feet. Hey, you don't have to use Plot Points to use Area Attack! You only have to spend PP if the SFX says you have to, typically as part of a reaction, to use it when an action fails, or to use both effects when it offers you a choice. Like for you, Take the Hit and Invulnerable cost 1 PP to activate, but they're the only ones on your SFX list that do.

This is a great resource for anyone playing MHR: the MHR Hero Cheat Sheet.

Crossbones looks on in surprise as Molly grabs him, lifts him up into the air, and tosses him right into Kraven the Hunter. As fast as Bruiser Queen hurls him into Kraven, enough so to blur to the average human eye, Crossbones somehow has the wherewithal to tuck in his limbs and loosen his body. Maybe it was his instincts, maybe it was the result of genetic modification from Apocalypse or Mister Sinister. Whatever it was, when his body slams into Kraven's chest, he bounces off and lands on his feet. Even Crossbones looks around in disbelief at his state, patting his legs and arms down to check if he was indeed in one piece.

For Kraven, his comrade smashing into him at the speed of a car at full throttle, sends him flying into and then through another cement section of the sewer, more refuse and filthy water pouring into the hallway like a waterfall. A few pebbles even pop off Molly harmlessly, as the shadows cover up Kraven's body. Though only for a moment as...a much larger, muscle bound, and furrier being steps out from where the bulky human had gone. His mouth his now a muzzle, a large one at that, and as he grins, his mouth turns into a pile of large, pointed fangs where teeth once laid.

His arms are replaced by legs and both sets of limbs grow much thicker and bent, going from bipedal to four legged. His now muzzle grows larger and his brow flattens, but curves at the same time to bring human like face to totally like that of beast. His mane replaces what little hair he had, and instead of talking, he meows and roars as he slips into unconsciousness. He is no longer mimicking his former master Kraven, but Gulyadkin the Lion once more.

Crossbones looks over at the lion and then you all, letting out a loud sigh. He drops his guns and raises his hands over his head, with a bored look on his skin tight mask. It looked like the skull was yawning. "Alright, I know the routine: I surrender. Or you know, you can try executing me in cold blood and never make it in time to save the Morlocks."[/b]

Ending the fight here, Crossbones knows he has no chance against all THREE of you and is willing to cut a deal. Going to move onto the next and final scene once you decide to off or make a deal with him

The Morlock Tunnels, Section B

As the second half of the Avengers rushes through the tunnels, at first they see nothing but empty, large or narrow rooms, teeming with the same liquid derbies and refuse their female counterparts had. As the gunfire and radio messages for help grow clearer and louder though, their surroundings begin to dry and even become hospitable. The walls remain bare, worn and soulless, but after ducking into one obviously false passageway behind a gratting, there is a used shaggy brown carpet for you to talk on, then as various large, dirtied and mismatched carpets to fit a tunnel the size of a small football field. Panties from those artist mills and movie poster to films both insanely popular, obvious classics and blockbusters, and all but forgotten, failed films or the like, cover the walls head to toe to blind reminders of where one actually is.

While there are plenty of passage ways and ducts to go down, you can hear rushing water in most of them --and the ping of laser fire coming only from the one in the middle of the floor, leading down-- as the room shakes and bobs. From the other side, you could hear more and more fire, but that's away from the radio broadcasts and near your teammates. Black Panther's radios are working....

With a sigh, Shuri sheathes her claws and removes her helmet. "Stick your hands out so that I can cuff you; Wakanda does not execute unarmed prisoners." She picks up Crossbones' gun and slings it over one shoulder, to study later. "You have much to make amends for, but you can start by explaining that," she says, pointing at the transformed lion, "while you show us the quickest route to the Morlocks."

Morlock Tunnels

"That? One of Sinister's science experiments, some pet from some D lister who fought Spider-Woman from before the Great Purge that responded well to gene splicing with his dead master. Responded so well and was proved efficient and true enough that he became a member of the 'Sinister Six', more than six of them now, probably closer to ten. Well nine," Crossbones says, letting out a breath of relief. His hands were still in the air though. He really hated this city and the people in it. Never forgave Spider-Woman for letting Kraven get murked by a S.W.A.T team or something. Or maybe it's about how his species is near extinct. Who the hell knows, the lion didn't talk much."

Crossbones bristles and slowly moves over to a sewer pipe right behind him. "There is a trick door that leads here to Marrow and most of the civilians left behind about three paces ahead of here you're strong but they sealed the normal way off with tons of rubble..." He then moves forward about a dozen paces and smacks what had appeared to be black cement under the now waist high sewer water. "But here is where you go if you want to make it Feral and the way out. Tons of civies there too and an actual escape route.

War Machine
PP: 1 | XP: 5 | Stepped Back: Gatling Gun, Missiles, Repulsors

Frank tries Black Panther's radio.

"Panther? War Machine. If you're hearing this we're in the sewers. Surface Purifiers are dealt with. What's the situation? We're hearing laser fire beneath us, probably going to cut through the grate and head towards it. Over."

He raises a repulsor and swaps it to a cutting mode, looking to Doom, Cable or Deadpool for approval. One nod and he was cutting his way through into that fight down below.

Cable steps into position to cover War Machine as he prepares to enter the grate. He says, "Check your fire until we know the layout, War Machine. We don't know if there are going to be civilians in line of fire."

Shuri sighs. "Black Panther here, War Machine," she says. She taps her beads. "We're heading deeper into the tunnels. There are more hostiles and the Morlocks are in danger. I'm setting my beads to map the tunnels as we go, and I'll upload coordinates to your armor."

She gestures at Crossbones. "We go. Now. Find the morlocks. You take the lead. You know the way, and that way if this is a trap, it gets you first."
