Hynes has had a mediocre roster, especially without Hall in, and the Devils are doing about as well as their personnel should be doing. They lack young talent, scoring depth, and a decent defense. I don't mind Hynes for a bit longer, the Devils just don't have the tools to be any good right now. T-Bone mentioned the Carolina spell of being just good enough to finish outside the top 8 or 10 but not a playoff team, and I think that's what will happen. Their rebuild has only resulted, drafting wise, in Hischier, in terms of getting top talent through the draft. Blackwood looks good too and Ty Smith I am really excited about. But to have years of drafting Zacha, Quenneville, Santini, McLeod... It sets the rebuild back even further. They will probably be out of the playoffs for the next couple seasons.

Didn't realize Parise was having a bit of a mini career revival this year. I remember he was struggling the past few years but caught the game today and he looks a lot more like his old self, although obviously not on that level anymore.
