I pop into the thread to post something funny and the first three things I see are Eddie Betts kicking a goal of the year contender against the Suns who are down 60, the best player in the teams history liking posts that say homosexuals are going to hell, and our old coach have a tourettes fit. Things are going very well on the gold coast.

Do we know what match that was with Rocket? Apparently St Kilda in 2009 - they played them 3 times including the prelim. So I’m guessing it might have been the prelim since that was the closest with the most on the line?

He was pretty well known for losing the plot in the coaches box regularly during his time at Sydney iirc There was a lot of talk about Leo Cameron having to coach from the sidelines for most of last year as the GWS assistants had effectively kicked him out of the coaches box due to his carrying on, looks like it was all a part of his apprenticeship

Remember, the "we booed him before [X], and are just booing him for reasons not connected to [X]" was the very argument used by the racists booing Goodes. I agree, both situations are entirely different, but don't fall into the trap of using their arguments. And to be extremely and unwarrantedly generous to the AFL, maybe they are trying to get ahead of the booing situation this time and nip it in the bud, as opposed to how they did gently caress all with Goodes and let it develop into the horrendous shitshow it became. Also, Geelong play West Coast this week with their notoriously boo-happy fans, but the game is in Geelong which is just as known for it's one-eyed feral fans. So it will be interesting to see what happens, especially given the AFL putting a target on his homophobic god botherer back.

Nobody is going to be brave enough to boo him in Geelong. Essendon fans will probably go nuts the week after. I didn’t say that people weren’t booing him because of x, I said that he was booed before x and nobody complained about it then. It was probably stronger on the weekend than in recent history because of the spotlight he shone on himself but the fact that the AFL, Whately and Robinson chose this time to get upset about it outs them as bigots or unbelievably tone deaf. Anyway, if you refuse to use an argument because someone you disagree with said something similar in the past about a different situation, won’t you find yourself snookered pretty often?
