I think you are misreading this, because I don't actually care whether she testifies or not, I just thought it would be a stronger statement given her history as a whistle blower to defy the secret court than to refuse to comply with it at all.

refusing to cooperate does more. Doing the the thing you think is wrong is the least effective way to protest something. if she just says these things happen then anyone can just accuse her of lying to protect herself if they want to. if you want to stop doing a thing doing it is the last thing you should do.

I disagree as I think civil disobedience is more powerful than non participation or boycott but I can respect you not sharing my position on such a matter.

Also how The Intercept was ignorant how the US has made it mandatory for printer scans to include a code to make to traceable back to the unit serial number.

The Intercept also gave the NSA the area the the information was mailed from as a hard copy.

agreed, and so does this guy

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, called on the public to support Winner,[26] offering a $10,000 reward for information about a reporter for The Intercept who had allegedly helped the U.S. government identify Winner as the leaker.[35] Assange wrote on Twitter that "Winner is no Clapper or Petraeus with 'elite immunity'. She's a young woman against the wall for talking to the press."[36]

This was all originally about how she was willing to testify in open court, but not secret court, you can see that's what I was quoting in my comment. The testifying isn't the problem, it is the secrecy, so why not testify and then make it public herself was what I was asking. If she just thought the whole thing was a kangaroo court then yeah don't participate or cooperate at all.

I always knew it would end like this.
she was granted immunity to testify which basically nullifies her dime store understanding of the fifth amendment which only guarantees the right against self-incrimination. it doesn't let you protect someone else by invoking your constitutional rights.

grand jury proceedings are basically always secret b/c of their very nature. nothing particularly out of the ordinary for this case.

they're probably not going to allow her to take detailed notes so that she can recount everything that goes on in this secret judicial proceeding that she will probably only be present for part of

Just remember the new left credo of 'no bad tactics only bad targets'. Its why using racial slurs is fine if you are calling a policeman the n-bomb as a white guy, or smashing somebody in the head with a bike lock is ok if they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

a grand jury is not a trial, nobody is convicted. it is a constitutional requirement -- the other part of the fifth amendment that everybody ignores -- that grand juries happen

chelsea committed textbook contempt by not testifying before a grand jury (who only decide probable cause, basically) despite getting immunity so: lol.
