Yeah, I agree. I think there's quite a bit more to the story.

Yeah, the only value the AAF has given the NFL so far is validating their decisions on cutting awful players

Also that 250 million cant possibly be all spent, I'm sure theres a lot legal-technicallity on how hes willing and committed to spending UP TO 250 million, but I'm sure he has a paper somewhere that says he can also bail with anything unspent at any time for any reason. The AAF was very desperate and so they had to make that kind of very easy out offer

I think this is where the $70m came from, that seems to be what he put in so far.

If you want to be mad at someone, please be mad at Charlie Ebersol who went on the NFL Network, Rich Eisen's show, The Herd and every other sports show swearing UP AND DOWN that the AAF was gonna be for real this time, HONEST. He never had the money to run this league, period.

20 dollar tickets with completely empty stadiums, $100 dollar jerseys no one was buying, and (relatively) big contracts for players the NFL would never sign, this thing was burning cash worse than the Joker. This league was hosed day 1. Dunden came in, made a shot at trying to get players for free to pad sales, and when that failed, any hope of this making money died.

Hoping jerseys go on mega clearance for 5 bucks somewhere, at least

I feel like the bigger problem was that they needed Dundon at all. They claimed they had more then enough money to get through multiple seasons, and the first weeks paychecks were missed due to what they claimed was a glitch. To top it all off, they let Dundon make a deal that allowed him to pull his funding at virtually any time.

It's even dumber to burn through 70 million of your money just so you can hijack a gambling app?

This whole thing is so incredibly dumb.

The true victims in this are the players. It’s hard to laugh at the maniacal fuckery at the top when the people who pay the ultimate price are guys who were using the AAF as a stepping stone to get (back to) the NFL.

In the AAF, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups. The players who were suckered into wasting months of their life, and the owners who will somehow cash out and profit on an obvious disaster. These are their stories.

Dundon.
