What do I want to feed my Mag if I'm going Fighter? It looks feeding it weapons increases S-Attack?

and is this a good way to allocate my skill points?? (I just kinda tried googling a build.)

What is worth spending real money on in this game? A lot of stuff seems to be either cosmetic or time-limited, but it looked like there was some stuff like inventory upgrades that you keep forever?

Also, what's with the personal quarters? I have access, but then I also got some reward tickets that say they give me access to personal quarters for 3 days.

Is there an inventory overflow? I was claiming a bunch of title rewards and I think my inventory was full but I have no idea where they went. They don't appear to be in my storage either?

e: Or maybe they did go to storage? Some of the rewards looked like items I'd have to use to get XP. Might have given me the xp directly?
e2: No, I'm just blind, had them in storage.

Because I stumbled upon it by total accident: Around level 35 or 40, you can get an extra 5 skill points for your class by doing a client order - there's a bunch of NPCs around the area by the Class Trainer & Alliance Desk that only offer Client Orders after you talk to them (maybe they only appear after progressing the story enough?) Either way there seems to be one for nearly every class, with some doubling up.

Apparently there's another at 45?

Those NPCs also seem to be a handy way to start off a new class too since they offer freebie weapons and an order to use it.

Maybe it's not worth the $$ for a FTP game but if they had just cleaned up the drat menus and bloat and I could log in with a list of missions to do without worrying about missing some quest or core gameplay feature or the horrendous storage situation or not knowing if any of these junk loot items are any good or not, I would probably really like this game.

The mission thing is kinda a mess, yeah, there is daily orders which get you an XP boost, and there's recommended missions which usually seem to be associated with daily orders, but after that it's messy. When taking the recommended missions I'll get popups with related orders, but then like, not for anything else. That said, when at an NPC who gives out orders, you can filter by map (eg: Forest/Desert) so you can kinda figure out which might be relevant that way?

It does feel like the stuff you find under "main missions" in your menu is decent guidance to various important game features though.

Storage situation fuckin sucks, but you can shift/ctrl click stuff in your inventory and mass "send to storage" which I guess you might wanna do for any material stuff or consumalbes you don't plan to use soon?

The game's item compare feature should probably be more then enough to tell if junk loot is good or not though. Numbers go up? Equip. Numbers don't go up? Vendor. I can't imagine any early or even mid game items are going to be worth hanging onto. Maybe with a caveat to figure out what sort of stuff you want to feed your mag (I have to give mine melee weapons) and hang onto some of that.

This might be really handy for some people - after setting a mission, if you go to the globe menu and click on client orders, this option becomes available, letting you grab any relevant orders for that mission.

Alternatively, when you're at an NPC, or from your client orders menu you can click this drop down and filter by region.

They plan to fix lobby lag, but in the mean time you should probably just use the alternative launcher. Like, you should probably run it anyways. Apparently it's existed forever for the JP version so I can't imagine there's any risk associated in using it?

It seems to have fixed the lag for me, and claims to fix some other issues people have been having with installation problems. It also let me launch the game at my native res and adjust the UI scale.

I don't know why you wouldn't care for twin daggers, you can pretty much go bouncer mode and ladder combo up into the sky.

From a guide I watched, daggers are better on bosses and double saber is better for little guys/hoards. While you're probably fine sticking to the doublesabers in most situations, I don't think trading the points from the weapon skills for some extra striking is worth it since there's no free respecing. Plus later down the line the level cap will go up and I think the new points you get will go into those striking up skills anyways.

Maybe I just need to experiment more because from what I've done double sabers seem to do more damage faster than daggers, even to bosses. One on one I've kind of been using knuckles but with double sabers I feel like I can use those big area moves and hit a ton of targets on a boss as opposed to hitting one spot. I suppose it's probably a problem of getting the right photon arts too, because with knuckles I only have one that hits a wide area (it's a figure 8 maneuver) and double saber I have a ton. I actually just found some pretty decent daggers for the first time too so I'll just play around with them.

Yeah, I think the right PAs can make the difference. Dagger can be kinda annoying because it's lack of reach, but there's an art or two that act as homing attacks which are really good for getting in. The weapon move seems really handy for staying in the air and just getting general air mobility if you've invested the point into the dagger specific thing.

There's also a ring you can get that will cause daggers to home in a bit when you're locked on a target.

Making rings

How to tell at a glance which of the 5 identically named pieces of gear is better

Whether or not to ID the unidentified items I find (of types I don't use) or just sell them

What the different kinds of missions are and when to pick a given type.

I've kind of just been randomly doing poo poo and making levels go up.

My guesses/understanding:

Mashing weapons together: Don't understand it too well, but weapons have like, 4? slots for augments? They have names and ranks and they boost stats. Eg "Might I" raises Melee Power. You want to get a spare weapon with the augment you want, to slam onto the weapon you want. The weapon is sacraficed in this process, and there's stuff that determines the likelihood if it will succeed. (Better augments have lower chances.)

Where it got a bit confusing to me is there's circumstances where you'll be replacing existing augments. I didn't really understand this and ended up wiping out existing augments on my good weapon when the process failed.

There's also just mashing grinders to give your weapon a higher number. That's where +1/+2/+3, etc. comes from.

Making Rings: There should be some client orders that sorta explain it, but basically look up a guide to see what rings your class/build wants. There should be some stuff in the Cafe that kind explains it? You'll need to gather mats depending on the ring, then you'll want extras because rings have XP bars and as they fill up you'll be able to upgrade the similarly to weapons, but they take some of the same mats you used to make the ring.

Gear at a glance: the equip menu should have a decent numbers up/numbers down view? For weapons make sure you have the right one active to make the comparison. For weapons you probably care most about the relevant attack stat. Armor, not really sure.

Doesn't seem like there's much reason not to ID? At least early on. There's like a enhanced ID thing I'm guessing I'll want to use in endgame?

I too have mostly been doing random poo poo to make level go up. Some client orders can be a really good source of EXP, check my post history for some screenshots for how to find relevant client orders.

There's definitely some UI shortcomings/messyness, but I do appreciate that there's shift/ctrl selecting stuff in a lot of contexts. It's even designed that if you select all of your weapon inventory and dump it into storage, it doesn't do something dumb like remove your equipped weapons.

There is some wonkyness to storage behavior I don't like - it will always default to the general storage, so I'll have to manually switch to "all storage" and there's no easy way to consolidate split stacks between general and character storages. Also the search box will always have what I searched last, even if I try to clear it.

From what I could tell running, you want to clear out as much of the map as possible (so don't zone to next area too soon) and apparently people try to photon blast at the same time while in PSE burst? I'm not clear on why people do it, it sounds like it supposed to increase the chances of cross-burst, but when I looked up PSE burst mechanics, it's mostly just a result of killing lots of stuff quickly.

For the current rally, you want to do the AQs under "Amplified Quest" and doing one of each will give you a 10% xp/rare boost, stacking up to 150%.
