Happy fuckin' day to me. God drat credit card got ripped off through the McDonald's app. Card company was more than happy to reverse the $300 of charges some shitstain in Quebec ran up on my card but loving goddammit now I have to wait two weeks for a new card in the mail.

Shipping in the US is garbage, my house is marked on all the common GPS systems as my neighbors house, so I'm essentially secured delivery for that rear end in a top hat who never answers his door. I'm about to start punting his poo poo into his backyard.

, because we get that poo poo all of the time and nothing ever happens except for stressing our employees out and making receptionists cry even though they did nothing wrong and can't do anything about it. People regularly froth at the mouth when they can't hear back from someone right this second and don't realize we're pushing hundreds of people through here every day. And trust me, I used to process our warranty payments, we're certainly getting paid for that poo poo.

For shipping with other carriers, it's 12345 Post Office Address Road #123456, Austin TX 12453 (note the different zip code, and they're anal about it being <post office address> #<po box> - not "box 123456", not "unit 123456", it has to be "#123456". I get a note left in my PO box to pick it up at the dutch door. It's a little annoying having to go during business hours, and you have to make sure to format the address exactly, but it's a fuckton cheaper than a private mailbox place. I pay $34 per 3 months for the next size up from the smallest box. Being able to get Fedex packages there (I see you, Rockauto) is worth it. I'm a bit tired of my 530i. I suppose it's had a good run. I had it for more than a decade now, and it's generally been fine. But the constant string of minor-to-moderate repairs (all DIY of course) has become grating. Time for a new ride. Probably a Toyota; I had enough of German reliability.

Well, I'm 50 next week and while the fiancee is making the trip out to see me for it, I still wanted to get myself something. Ive been looking at full frame cameras and .... yeah the prices are stupid. I've also been playing with Sony A7 series bodies which I like but yeah gently caress that amount of money. Even near on 10 year old FF DSLR's are over 1000 AUD. The only second hand camera I'd pay more than that would be a 1D and THOSE in FF are just nooooope. Which meant when I saw a Sony A7R for UNDER 400 AUD I a) asked what the gently caress was wrong with it) Ummm.... nothing it turns out?) and b) will it work with all my Canon poo poo?  I ..... yeah okay it's not greaaaaaat at AF with a lens adaptor butI'm hitting close enough to think, yeah okay it's me not the camera.  And that silly test shot absolutly confirmed it was me, the camera/adaptor is capable of indecent sharpness and resolution. And thats handheld in low light. TBH I thought the camera store had left the 1 off the front of the price given what the A7R goes for second hand. Fine by me, it's a shitload of camera for the price of a point and shoot

First world problems can still be problem. There's no magical socioeconomic threshold where suddenly life becomes a golden fairyland. Houses can be a burden. They have over a dozen, often complex, mechanical systems that must ALL be working, all the time. If they break, there's no landlord to call... you are the landlord. Having a family and kids is great, but holy hell is it a lot of.work to keep everybody going with a list of modern needs. Basically, wherever you are in life, you're going to struggle. That's part of the gig. Just because you wish you had someone else's struggles, that doesn't mean that they aren't real struggles.

Is that... literally the first report ever from CA? Sony A7R trip report (and CATTE POST)  AF really is juuuuuuuuuuust that tiny bit off but where it's focused gently caress it has some detail  Not actually a focus miss - I'm handheld at 1/30 shutter speed. The subject speration from the background at f4 is really good too  Focus a bit back  Focus hit.  Kinda the same thing again - ever so slight back focus that shows if it hits the details it brings out is incredible. I like the look of the images it does do even with the slight focus issue that I'll need to figure out what setting it needs. It's also adapted Canon lenses that arent exactly new designs which dont help. Yeah I was just spewing rubbish for an excuse to post cats

You're presuming quite a bit based on one internet post. I even said that I shouldn't complain given my circumstances aren't that bad, but sheesh bro. I'm very grateful for where I am, and have worked hard to get here given where I came from and poo poo I had to wade through to get here. Not to say I didn't have privileges, I recognize that, but still. Everybody has poo poo to deal with and we all deal with it in different ways. It's the feeling of not being able to do anything about my situation currently and my lack of patience that are a bummer. Young kids are a lot fun but they will absolutely wear you down and take up all your time. So of course I wish I had more time and freedom, but here we are.
