I enjoyed this movie. Writing, acting, and cinematography were all good though nothing excellent. The way they showed Dani's natural leadership early on, and how she made good decisions under fire once she understood the terminator threat, was fantastic. I liked the action and the breaks in the action. My only gripe is how the dam sequence dragged on way too long. The terminators in T1 and T2 got destroyed by industrial machinery, throwing it into a massive turbine should have been enough without needing a futuristic battery to finish it off.

John Connor sucks. He was a fun kid but I don't think he can be a good character as an adult in a non-apocalypse world. The franchise is kind of stuck for new material, so making a movie that doesn't involve John was a good call.
