Crytek changed lawyers in June 2019 so legal development can only be started from then. Everything before that had to be scrapped by the court. Skadden messed things up because their arguments had the wrong dimensions.

Crytek increased the scope with their amended complaints and Discovery-ing, which takes time for CIG to do.

CIG asked :reddit: if they wanted a settlement or full-on Cryrekt and the votes showed unanimous support for Righteous Ortwinning. Backers chose this, Chris is just listening to them.

Death Stranding is gonna be like Episode 1 of star wars, Kojima having full creative control is not necessarily the best thing. You need someone to be able to say "cool idea Lucas, but does that really belong in this movie? Lets cut it and focus on the better stuff."

or, alternatively, "Dude that's super racist / really pervy what are you thinking?" (Lucas / Kojima respectively)

I prefer to take auteur theory to its logical conclusion and believe that the greatest art is the inane, unfocused, and enenjoyable bullshit that creators get up to when they're surrounded by yes men.
