Hey its been months, maybe the better parts of half a year, since I've checked them on Star citizen Don't worry, I already know the answer to the questions that's been at the back of my mind: Yes star ctizen is probably still going Yes the funding probably is still linear on the homepage Yes of course hundreds of thousands The people have definitely totally signed up Yes of course the release date is sometime before 2022, an actual literal decade Yes, the stans are probably still brainwashed

He’s in tears for half of it, while thanking his streaming “family”, dear god what a mess. Apparently he just doesn’t have enough time to keep up with it and his audience was niche upon niche to put it mildly. Holy gently caress, this guy was still streaming?

cmdrk posted:The funny thing is, if the Steam Charts numbers are to be believed, Squadrons is honestly doing pretty poorly. It's peeled back from its launch high of about 35k concurrent players down to _maybe_ 2k at peak hours. It's currently #221 on steam charts in terms of players. And this is a Star Wars game that harkens back to X-Wing. Chris could have stumbled into this kind of success too had he chosen an engine actually suited for the game

like, Star citizen could have been out as an okay to play but disappointingly shallow single player experience a couple of years ago if the engine wasn't fighting them at absolutely every single last possible step along the way
