Hm seems like Borderlands 2 VR is dropping today on Steam, could be good! I can't tell if it includes all the DLC from BL2 but either way reviews for the PSVR version seemed decent.

No multiplayer though

I would've bought it at $20 or less, but I've already spent a ton on BL2 and the expansions, so no thanks at this price.

Steam sale it is, I guess.

Not even a discount for people that own borderlands 2. How rude

Thief simulator VR is out on November 12th!

Also, looks like car mechanic simulator is getting a VR port.

They actually wanted to make it even lower if you had the flat version but steam denied the request and they put out this statement.

quote:

Hi guys,

big day today, but we have to start with some.. not the best news for us and Thief Simulator owners.

We were saying from the day one that we want to give promo coupons to the players that already bought Thief Simulator. We also stated that it’s not entirely dependent upon us - that we need Steam approvement.
We and publisher decided to give a larger discount than we promised - as a pleasant suprise for you. Unfortunately, the request for the promo coupons was disapproved by Steam yesterday.
We were told by publisher that this is due to the general issues with promo coupons and that the Steam is working on new coupon system. We also requested for Loyalty Discount coupons for you yesterday, but our publisher expects them to also be disapproved - as this happened last week with their other game. We will try to get these coupons for you as we promised, but it’ll probably happen when the new system arrives (at beginning of the new year).

I hope you don’t feel misleaded by us in any way, we were always open to your questions and answered them sincerely. It’s also a painful (and a bit shocking) piece of information for us.
I’ll leave the discussion open, hope you will appreciate that and we will keep it civilized here ;)

Best,
GameBoom VR Team

But then they figured out they could just lower the bundle price and you can get the extra discount that way. So if you own the flat version make sure you buy the bundle. Gives you 25% off.

Haha what a scam. Magic leap first said their projection was 1 million units sold. They then lowered that to 100k. How many units actually sold? 6k. Good use of 2 billion dollars!

Anyone else playing HyperDash on Quest? It's a really good feeling shooter and even has a rail you can slide around on. Even though its an Alpha, it's pretty well built. Definitely worth a try. Movement is a mix between Teleportation Dash, On Rails, and physical movement.

Need recommendations for two things...

1) going to show my parents the Quest and unsure what experience would be best - even something like Beatsaber is probably too much motion (constant ducking etc). Maybe epic rollercoasters would be fun? Really just looking for them to check it out without anything too intense or game button heavy.

2) I've been jamming out with Superhot and Beatsaber and having a blast, but I want to start working my way towards being able to move in VR (for playing Alyx). What titles allow me to take that baby step? Like a whole "press the button" and teleport mechanic? Or eventually full movement?

I'm still waiting for my link cable to be shipped so I'm limited to the Quest library for now

what game are you trying to play that doesn't have any option for left/right handed? Its pretty standard at this point to have options for that in the settings.

While games do have a setting sometimes they also switch movement/turning as (southpaw controls I guess?) I never got used to those. Thankfully most games now let you switch weapons to left handed and keep movement like you are right handed.

Gonna have to get some super chill games for her to ease in the experience.

She liked using my G2 for a bit but it was in Squadrons and she lasted about 5 minutes.

Yeah my Girlfriend and I both got quest2's in October and she's used hers not much because of this. There are some great non movement games to ease into it though. For example, Pierhead Arcade is a great vr into I feel.

So both my GF and I have quest 2's and I see there is kind of a way to "family share" which sounds great as buying each game twice is expensive.

Is there a list anywhere of what games are sharable and playable at the same time? Would love to try some walkabout minigolf without having to buy it twice.

I was all about ActiveWorlds in the late 90s, I want so bad for a VR mod but that's the least likely thing ever. I think it's only still up to protect patents or something and doesn't get real meaningful updates so I could never see a VR update coming out. I don't think there's a single RenderWare game that has gotten a VR mod so who knows where to start.

I'll still, every couple months or so, jump in ActiveWorlds and warp to random coordinates until I find things like "Jimmy's Pokemon/WCW City," it's such a time capsule of the early 2000s/late 90s.

I was big into active worlds, I wonder if there is a way to find my old builds?

I started on Worlds Online, then active worlds, and than second life.

This last one was subtle enough that I might have missed it if they hadn't put me on high alert via the first two. Number two was extremely obvious, like they didn't even try to correct the problem. The area around that USB port looked like the front door keyhole area of someone who comes home drunk every night.

What was the issue with the third one?
