Four friends and I had time slots, and I had the earliest at 2:01 PM. I managed to get a hotel in Monument Circle, five blocks away from the convention center, and it sounds like basically everything else was sold out shortly after. Edit: If anyone is savvy with Python, there's a neat utility on GitHub that will automatically check the housing portal for you: https://github.com/mrozekma/gencon-hotel-check You still need to have a badge (it uses your Passkey ID as the lone mandatory parameter). Settle for a lovely room now, and keep an eye on the housing portal as the cancellation date for rooms approaches. You might get lucky and find something! You could also use the script I posted earlier to do the whole thing automatically
