I live in a sexually depraved European nation where the age of consent is 15, but it explicitly does not apply to high school teachers and any other situation where an adult has some sort of caretaker role with regard to minors.

Yeah, that is very clearly the case, which is one of the reasons there are (or should be) laws and policies against this very sort of relationship.

Powerful self-own.

I don't what the typical junior high age is (15?) but it feels kind of lovely blaming her for marrying a pedophile. You could argue that she was old enough to know better, but she's the victim here and the responsibility falls on her parents legal guardians, the school administration, possibly the state legislator, and obviously the pedo husband.

It's not like all wicca magic is even bogus, either. I was rifling through a spellbook once and noticed one named "war water", which incanting harmful thoughts over some rusty nails, dropping them in a jar, filling said jar with a mixture of salt, water and your own urine, and smashing it on your target's doorstep.

I've managed to curse someone with tetanus on three separate occasions through nothing but a li'l weave of the spell.

I'm no coloromerist, but if bright ginger means it's a warm orange color, and a peacock color scheme means dark-ish saturated blues and greens, her hair would be the perfect complementary color and she'd automatically look better than anyone sporting blonde or brown hair.

I know it's the smallest detail to focus on, but someone this obsessed with their color scheme could at least have the decency to have a sense of aesthetics.

I've got a friend who's irrationally scared of cats. When I asked her about it, she told me her mom was scared of cats and always tensed up and edged away when she saw one, and she picked that up as a kid.

If it's not from a traumatic experience of some sort, it's probably a learned behavior.

You’re allowed to change your life plan if you find out you want to do something else, even if it means giving up on your current relationship which was built on your previous goals. That doesn’t make you an rear end in a top hat, even if it hurts someone.

I mean, she needs to get away from that relationship ASAP, but even if he hadn’t been a garbage fire and holding her to a life commitment she made at loving 18, she’d be entitled to get out.

He figured she'd be all "oh well, cat's gone" and carry on. When it dawned on him that his complete and utter disregard for her feelings might actually be detrimental to the relationship, he thought he could make it go away by throwing another cat at her, since what could the problem be if not that she needed a cat around for some reason? Some people cannot comprehend others genuinely caring for an animal's companionship or well-being.

There seems to be a pattern of "is currently dating me" being a massive redeeming quality because people are:

1. Terrified of being alone
2. Convinced no one else would want to be with them
2a. Staying with a literal or figurative garbage person cannot be good for anyone's self-esteem, reinforcing point 2
3. Convinced that all relationships are rife with terrible "compromises"
3a. There seem to be some good eggs on r/relationships that actually give solid advice, but if you're on there, it means you've got a straight hose to all the other terrible relationships people are in and don't see a lot of healthy relationships or have people in your life who are better equipped to give you the straight business

I've been invited to most Thesis/Dissertation defenses held by my friends and family. Their opacity depends entirely on the field at hand and the person presenting it. The only one that was completely inscrutable to me was in my own major, but within a different field (particle physics vs. materials physics). If you've got friends who are history or language majors and they want a crowd at their defense, I would recommend going.

I was staying at a friend’s place for a couple weeks when I was between homes, and we had multiple arguments about who got to sleep in his bed. He usually won because my only argument was that it was his home and his bedroom; obviously he should be the one to get the bed, which he just blew right past while saying he had to get up earlier and didn’t wanna wake other people up as he got ready and such. Eventually I got him to settle that whoever went to bed first got the bedroom, and then made an effort to stay up later than him.

From my understanding, the marketing around k-pop is hyperfocused towards people vulnerable to parasocial relationships. The music sucks you in, but the real product is that all these boys and girls are single, and their lives and personalities are on public display. This handsome boy is really into shy, bookish brunettes, so if only he met you, he’d realize you’re his soulmate, so you should do everything in your power (ie pay us money) to know about his life and try to meet him.

The most likely scenario I thought up was that he'd lost a bet or was doing it on a dare, with weird fetish as a close second and psychotic break as a distant third. I don't think we've had a poisoner story that had deliberate murder as the intent, only ones that caused violent gastric distress or did their harm through refusing to respect allergies or dietary choices.

If he'd poisoned her conventionally, the doctor or coroner might have found out, particularly if anyone got a whiff of foul play. I'm not sure how his endgame accounted for letting his friend, who was clearly not on board with poisoning the OP, in on the deal, but it sounds like he could have gotten away with murder otherwise.
