There have been a whole bunch of new movies that have come out in the past few years. Have we learned any new facts that put Star Trek or Babylon 5 or Stargate definitively on the bottom in any particular tactical or total war scenario(s)? Has anyone done any frame-by-frame analyses of the firepower or whatever? New throw-away lines that establish the joules-per-minute of the shields? Obviously we ignore 'magic' but there's a lot we learn about communications and navigation and ffffffffffffffffffucking bulllllllllllllshit I don't care now; but I would have when I was 16.

Basically everything that was keeping star trek from being a power player (lack of serious capacity to construct moon sized battle stations, slow ships that can't cross the galactic disk in a couple of hours, not magic) is still in play. Hyper space ramming is a new and dumb thing that basically means not only is star wars even more stupidly overpowered than before but actually the emperor was a loving idiot for building a death star to blow up planets when he could have built a hollow sphere at a third the size and just slammed it into any offending planets at hyperspeed.

He was preparing for the Yuzon Vong you see
