If you go around saying the N word the majority of people think you're a racist oval office. If you go around saying transgender women are a danger to cis women and/or throwing around the T word the majority of people either don't really get what you're on about and don't have enough of an opinion on the matter to really care that much one way or the other, or think that kind of language is still acceptable and/or funny. It doesn't provoke the same backlash as racism when it really ought to, and that's part of the problem.

The slur is pretty specific to South Africa, for what it’s worth, so the rest of the world using it to refer to a lime that is also called that isn’t necessarily out of terrible racist ignorance and more that it’s just not the same word to them.

Just cancel the direct debit instruction at your bank when the payments are no longer needed, the other party doesn’t control the flow of money, the bank does. I could open my bank app now and stop every single payment that’s scheduled to go out of my account in a couple of taps, (assuming I wanted my mortgage to go unpaid and all my utilities in arrears).
