the crazy thing to me was that he literally wasn't even out of breath after tossing around 180lb man for several minutes he's in his prime at 32 and seems to have a hell of a gas tank for a big guy, he might be a dark horse for a title shot

they'd probably have to pay some kind of hefty penalty to completely cancel the show, so from a "the company needs to survive" position, it's probably better to cobble together the best show you can under the restrictions, but it's obviously not a great proposition for everyone else. it's just a lovely situation all around

I feel like the retirement stipulation was only for Kip and he'll get murdered by Archer I don't think Dustin is going away until a rubber match with Cody after they revisit their amazing match at some point. I can already see the finish with Dustin out and Cody reluctantly pinning in front of a crowd going nuts with all the energy/emotion

I like Darby going into the final over Cody, and then maybe a Darby vs Cody rematch for first shot at Lance Archer? You could have Cody heel it up a bit by invoking EVP powers to book it that way and push him more towards tweener I don't know that a heel Cody is even possible, but I feel like part of the arc he's building will have to include some hosed up poo poo

Everything else was him trying different stuff. i remember in that video of him working with the young guys and talking the business, he talked about how he's kinda "done it all" and mostly looks for ways to challenge himself and keep himself engaged, and he wants to be the best in any type of match situation that could ever come up, I respect his dedication to the craft, and he's going to be an asset to the business for literally decades
