And holy poo poo does this deck smash face, it has some really thought-provoking and deep lines of play, all with that classic Zoo feel. Probably because it's like 2 decks mashed together: one where you try to setup unfair tempo with Imprisoned Scrap Imp, and one where you try to generate ridiculous value with Hand of Guldan. Each plan technically works separately and are capable of winning alone, but when the plans align you become a goddamn monster.

Rode this from D5 floor to legend today, thanks! I had a draw on my first final boss because soulfire hit the 1/9 odds for discarding Hand of Guldan and fatigued me to death :argh:

Edit: there's like 10k people in legend, is that normal or a result of the ladder changes?

I'd keep 1 Imp or Battle Mage, then chuck everything else looking for Hand. If I was on coin and had Imp I'd keep a Sidekick too.

Yeah I think most of the time ingenuity hitting the stinger shouldn't be a bad thing. My favorite part is when it hits Zixor Prime to field 4 buffed rush minions, but that only works rarely and usually the game doesn't allow waiting for that, so a buffed stinger doesn't seem like a bad alternative at all. Especially now with so many highlanders and combos around.

edit: Alright I made around 15 games with the stinger in now and I can tell, it absolutely fucks. Worst case ever was it being a useless buffed card in my hand as I couldn't get to play it due to massive enemy board presence, but the potential alone was worth holding onto it and it was just one game. In almost every other game with it, I got to play it usefully, stole a DH's Kayn, took a priest's Veilweaver, took another hunter's Brann, took two (2) VanCleefs in late game leading to instant concedes, plus I stole a zephrys and an alexstrasza using a buffed stinger from two highlander mages.
From my hunter list I swapped out the obligatory evasive feywing as the stinger so far always got hits and absolutely always stayed on the board for at least two turns, making it a really solid value minion, too. Amazing card, never want to miss ruining someone else's combo again.

LOL I actually loving did it, I rode Yogg to Legend. I started out in literally “you have never played wild ladder” bottom tier, and took this deck allllll the way. I made this 100% without looking at any other decks, including not knowing all the cards my opponents might have had from the past 4-5 expansions that I’ve never bothered to look at while not playing Ladder ever. The changes to the deck were actually pretty minor from beginning to end. I started with a lot more cheap spells and Kael’thas but dropped him after not that long, and dropped most of the cheap spells when I decided to add Geist (because gently caress Your Larger Man!) I swapped in the weapon hate late after a string of face decks with weapons and then almost never used them.

From 3 to Legend I won something like 9/10 games.

Cool interactions (well, it sucked for me) I wasn't expecting:

A) If Solarian Prime kills Sylvanas and she steals him, the rest of his random spells are cast by the Sylvanas player

B) If one of those spells is Evocation, they keep them all until the end of their next turn (which makes sense given the card wording, but still caught me by surprise)

Speaking of Wild - Spreading Plague crashes the game after the latest patch. Not sure what the win/loss outcome of that is (I assume a 'draw') but in theory it means Druids can't lose now since they can chose to cancel the game (most Druid decks run 2xSP).

I noticed this earlier and was able to rejoin each time. I didn't consider that it was crashing the game for the druid too. This was also my first time seeing Linecracker Druid in action. Anyone know if Zeph would give you Platebreaker in that situation? I had two Zephs in hand but my board was full of minions that Reno summoned and I had no way to clear them.

I usually save up 4-5000 gold, then just run Arenas for the first month or so of an expansion or until I run out of gold. By then I have enough cards/dust for a few meta decks to play on ladder while I save up for the next expansion. Honestly though I mostly just gently caress around in Wild with gimmick decks these days. Blizzard's been scummy enough lately I don't really want to give them money.
