3 wins from Bronze 10 to Silver, new ranking system does a good job of getting you out of the new player zone pretty sharpish.

I don't like the new ranking system, it's far less transparent. The various leagues are meaningless because you are always matched with people who had the same mmr as you last season. It only becomes true ranking when you lose your bonus stars, it's all a facade before that.
Maybe but it took me all of 6 games to reach the gold league from the start of the season, I bet there are streamers who went to Diamond on a win streak. It does feel like you get back to where it matters very quickly, and if a newer player is struggling through bronze or silver or whatever then those leagues do matter to them.

Unless you get down to your last 2 (or 4) cards in your deck then Tracking didn't hurt you, those were just the last cards in your deck. If you are playing a combo deck you have to be careful about playing it when you've got all your combo pieces still in your deck still but it can actually be particularly strong in those types of decks to thin out your deck. The only time it's legitimately bad is if you are playing a classic control or value deck that takes a good proportion of games down to fatigue.

Yeah it's a simple fix to just make Apprentice only reduce spells to a minimum of 1 cost. That still allows plenty of combos to played off it but doesn't get stupid broken when you cheat out a bunch of them.

I net decked an interesting looking Big Warrior netdeck. Rattlegore, Troublemaker, Kargath... Nice, nice got all these legendaries. Load up a game, play out Troublemaker on turn 8, he loads up on the enemy and does his thing, gets cleared next turn. Get to turn 10 for Dimensional Ripper and.... What?! A Troublemaker?! It's a loving rare?! WHAT

How is that a rare, that's insane! It's a solid legendary card, that.

Just had a Big Warrior game where we played Rattlegore consecutively and then over numerous turns both eventually got down to being 1/1s and removed hardway. Funniest Rattlegore moment yet, just think of the value generated!

Here's the decklist and it's pretty clever.

Basically you get to turn 8 then play Pilgrim (you can decrease your chances of drawing Potion with Sphere, and you can tutor Pilgrim to the top with Lorekeeper). You choose Potion so you start an infinite loop of 1 mana Pilgrims -> Potion.

After which there's a few ways to win with the 1 mana copies; either lock your opponent out with Maiev/Bully/Neophyte, or slowly Nightblade them down. I didn't get the Broomstick until I realised it's a way to clear your own board space through rushing your 1/1's into stuff.

I really like the deck because it looks like a pile of cards, but everything makes sense and has its place. It's neat.

Polkelt and Sapience are pretty much the safest crafts possible if you like combo decks. In the standard pool for another 1 year and 8 months with unique affects that enable combo decks to work, they'll certainly see play in at least fun fringe decks through that whole period and in wild too.

If I had to guess on nerfs they would be to Druid. The amount of bullshit those ramp decks can pull out of their rear end is ridiculous. The only way to beat Ramp Druids is to hope they draw their deck the wrong way round because outside of Warrior with RNG on their side there simply is no competing.

One fun interaction is getting only Spirit Jailer and Shadowlight Scholar in your deadpool, so that Raise Dead gets you nice life and damage value. I really hope for the sake of this deck that Raise Dead doesn't get nerfed to 1-mana because of dumb Priest stuff.
This deck is legit. I replaced one of the Darkglares with Ebonlocke and it allows any number of degenerate opening combos with the 1 mana demons as well as getting a Nightshade down on T3. Shadowlight Scholars are the star of the deck for me, ridiculous game winning tempo if they go off.

Yes, it's crazy fun. I just reached D10 with it myself (44-10 from the bottom of Gold8 with no star bonus) and it just beats everything with exception of Demon Hunter which I have a 0 (zero) percent win rate against. It's too easy for DH to punish low life totals.

Definitely made playing without a star bonus tolerable!

12-4 from D10 to D5, so 56-14 overall. And what's crazy is that during that run I've faced only 2 other Warlocks - one Galakrond and one Zoo but running the list with Thrashers. 14-2 vs Paladins and 8-1 vs Druid, the two most common decks on ladder and yet nobody is playing Warlock. Neither of those decks have a chance unless you draw like complete crap.

I guess that means the spell resolves first and then the spellburst is triggered. So Lightning Bloom adds 2 mana and then the spellburst kicks in and boosts that up to fill your mana crystals. Not very intuitive but I can see how that happens and it does follow a logical sequence of events.

Use anka to discount mechathun. Burn through your deck. Combo is mechathun /broomstick /secret passage to clear hand, then suicide your board in the correct order.
This is actually pretty solid. The final Mecha combo costing only 3 mana gives it a lot of wriggle room and Secret Passage allowing you to hoard cards right into the combo is powerful defensively.

I'm going to change my opinion to that this deck is fully sick. I've yet to lose a game with it and some of the insane bullshit Mechathun kills I've pulled off have been downright dirty and hilarious. Turn 8 has been my earliest kill so far but pretty sure you could knock that down to turn 6 with a super good draw.

Is it your deck? It's very good. I'm not sure if Hemet works though because 2 of the 3 combo pieces are 1 mana and most games I found myself needing one of those pieces to complete the combo. Hemet would certainly allow some pretty unstoppable turn 6-8 kills if you got Secret Passage, Broomstick and Hemet in the first few turns but probably less consistent overall.
Worth trying out tho, instead of maybe one of the Saps.

I also thought about using Vanish as a tech card against aggro but the wild meta seems pretty hellbent on value and outlasting at the moment. Perfect fodder for Mechathun...

Like there's very few ways of piloting this deck. What the gently caress am I doing wrong....it's so annoying because honestly it just feels like rng and opening hands decide it all.
Even if it's setting you on tilt I always find it best to pick one deck and just stick with it for a while. Having familiarity with a deck is a massive advantage.

If you're facing a lot of big value decks (for you example Druid) then I'd recommend climbing with Resurrect Priest. The value is so insanely high that if you get through the first few turns it's very hard to lose (I slotted the +3/+3 quest into mine and it was a pretty smooth ride to D5 this month).

A strong Murloc start can maybe stay at 4 for a while to poison up and try and triple into Brands/Bagurgle.
