great thread op; just wanted to say that those green ants can be used to flavour foods and also gin they taste a bit like lime with a hint of coriander seed the adelaide hills distillery does the gin (green ant gin) and it's pretty tasty but there's also a fancy goat's cheese with them (kris lloyd's 'anthill' cheese) and several restaurants are using em too of course aboriginal australian's used them for thousands of years prior to this
