The final decision to nuke it was made via the court of public opinion of some posters who had previously been run out of it repeatedly over the years which was really cool

I can appreciate some dark/dry humor but eventually reading slurs and poo poo get tiresome at somepoint. There was like a 100s pages long super transphobic thread that people outside of fyad were complaining about that had some real bad poo poo in it and one of the mods from outside of fyad started or joined people who were complaining about it and fyad started harassing the mod and I think tried to or successfully dox them. JackDaniels the longtime fyad mod got permad for some poo poo he posted in that thread along with a huge list of other people and lowtax temporarily suspended fyad until he could straighten poo poo out. Fyad people flooded qcs and the rest of the forums shitposting, reporting people who posted anything at all offensive (this is also when cspam started enforcing no use of the r-word, idk if that was forums wide or just in cspam) and there was like 5 days of everyone fighting in qcs and arguing everywhere about fyad and the permas and there many hot takes on all sides to be had. Lowtax opened fyad back up with some warnings to try and chill everything out. FYAD responded with its trademark ironic humor and immediately started a pro nazi thread. Lowtax decided that he had had enough deleted fyad. Fyad guys all left or assimilated into gbs. This was more of a last straw sort of thing and not the only reason, and lowtax and others had said they didn’t like what fyad has morphed into over the years. That’s my recollection of the events leading up to fyad getting killed. This is all from memory I might not have all the details/timelines right.
