Listen Along: God is in the Radio - Queens of the Stone Age

The Wrecker-pilot Theo Reticule had just outfitted his Gamma Bounder with a brand new paint job and a spiffy new Magitek Mafia Resource Acquisition Tooled Skimmer, and despite everything that had happened since, Theo was still in a state of shock processing what had just gone down in the fight against the Carnifex.

While Theo had suppressed the Carnifex with his Breach Assault cannons, Dunk Tuggum had charged in at the giant Beta rig and slammed into its side to knock the mechanical terror off-balance, all while Bonny-Anne Elsewhere sprinted forward toward the Carnifex in her Gamma Enforcer with her hatch popped in order to secure the Rigspike hit. The spear tip of Bonny-Anne's Mr. Stinger punctured through the Carnifex's armor and delivered the rig some malware-based orders to shut it down, deactivating the Beta rig's weapons right as the Carnifex was wheeling its rotating ripper-arms directly towards Bonny-Anne's exposed throat.

That's when Traditional Parrot - Bonny-Anne's pet Hoarding Horror - arrived on the scene to help out its mother figure. With a sticky frog tongue, the infant Horror-lizard lashed out and grabbed a support beam holding up a precariously-damaged section of the roof structure balanced over the Carnifex rig. The baby Horror pulled, and the entire upper building came crashing down over the Carnifex's cockpit.

It was the perfect storm of unintended events, and yet, despite that, the three of them were still alive to tell the tale. Ra Maximum's horrid death to the whirling blades of the Carnifex had been avenged by them all, but most especially by their Hoarding Horror mascot 'Traditional Parrot,' who - quite adorably - had only been acting on instinct to help its parent.

In his Gamma Bounder, Theo worked his way around the damaged Rig Silo collecting whatever bits and bobs he could of the broken building with his rig's new scrap scraper: the MM-RATS. While he worked, Theo made sure to leave a wide enough berth around the rekt Carnifex rig itself - that particular treasure trove of synthetic parts and armor plates was Bonny-Anne's to do with as she pleased.

Listen Along: Do the Astral Plane - Flying Lotus

The rig-bound Wrecker Theo Reticule unhooked his reloader tube from the MM-RATS console deck with a hissing pop. His suit's supply of medifluid had been partially refilled from the supplies he'd salvaged at the rig silo, which was a good thing for Theo because the Wrecker had some serious self-healing to do. That last drone that Magitek Mafia had sent him wasn't quite as high-quality as the standard contactless liver-scrubbers he was used to at the discount heath centers, and that was saying a lot. Theo had remembered feeling sick to his stomach before the DTOXdrone had struck him, almost like he was going through liver failure (like the time he drank all that chocolate liqueur), but now that he'd been hit with the DTOXdrone's irradiating blast, Theo was was feeling an entirely different kind of worse: flush-faced and drained of energy with the chills, almost like he'd had a fever and a cold coming on all at once. His muscles felt like wet noodles and he tasted metal on his tongue as he lurched about in his Bounder's bouncing cockpit.

'TerraBrad' was the designation of Theo's rig, and now that the suped-up Gamma Bounder had gotten its custom, grease-proofed black and gold-trim paint job at the rig silo it was ready to look the part of a magical suit of armor.

As for his rig-piloting skills, Theo had managed to install the Combat Suite Armor Mods that he'd recovered from Ra Maximum's remains, and he was shocked to see how much easier they made everything inside the cockpit of a rig. Suddenly, Theo's interactive visuals were overlaid with weapon-aiming assistants, overdrive modes, and adaptive shielding systems for TerraBrad, allowing him to access new strategies in his rig-riding that he'd never known were possible. There was a silver lining to Ra Maximum, Theo mused, both in life and in death.

"Thanka, Ra, for everything." Theo murmured inside his cockpit, looking at his Pulse Pounder and reverently placing the dead man's hat on his head.

The lights of Theo's rig interior suddenly flashed bright as the Wrecker received a live update to his mini-map through official Wrecking Crew channels. There were just a few clusters of Wreckers spread throughout the meateor's interior. Some of them were by the Fabric8r, some of them were scattered to the north of the Luxe Crucible, and Theo and his group were over by the Rig Silo, right next to...

"Holl'on, is that Wrecker number three over there: Vatman Jones?" Theo blurted out over the comms. He broadcast the message far afield so that everyone within his Spinal Array's comms range should theoretically be able to hear him. "Helloz, Vatman."

When Vatman Jones didn't immediately respond to the comms callout, Theo reined in his permissions and spoke to only his local rig-piloting companions Bonny-Anne and Dunk Tuggum as an aside, "Dunk, think we should buzz by him in our Bounders, see what he does? Unless he's chillax, his head's worth stacks. While we're at it, I'd like to flush out that Sarco-Ho, too. Whaddya think?"

With a couple quick adjustments with his CS Modules, Theo had diverted TerraBrad's weapons power to its leg pistons, increasing the Gamma Bounder's already-impressive speed without draining excess power. The irradiated rig-riding dog-boy was ready to go!

Movement: (ALL may peek)
> With his Bounder's 4 Jump movement, Theo hops northwest to the bone zone and back east, building momentum!: 142 -> 133 -> 122 -> 123 -> 134!

Sponsors: Alrighty, Magitek Mafia - your MM-RATS is working beautifully! I was able to recover most everything that Ra Maximum had on him... he had quite a lot of good stuff, including that hat you wanted! I've put it on top of my cranial cap, just to see how it looks! It's a little beat up, to be honest, but I'm sure it'll be a hit with all the fans at home! I feel like I'm channeling the Wreckers of seasons past!

Long after the night shift had settled into their cubidorms and entered their weekend workflow, Dr. Skipp Wiley Sr. was still at the desk of his corner office, getting deep into his cups while simulcasting the Wreckers' feeds on his office's massive holo-display. Dr. Wiley slugged back the last dregs of his murky, fizzy drink, warily eyed the glass in his hand as though it had personally insulted him, and then slammed the empty cup down on the button to order another one. He was going to have to start rationing his ethanol intake for the night if he wanted to make it home to his own bed at some point, so he dialed down the outbound order to only contain 80% of the normal BooZ content.

Leaning back in his smoothly ergonomic anti-grav office chair, Dr. Wiley kicked his feet up onto the chair's extendable leg rest and tucked his hands behind his head. His world was starting to swirl a little bit...

What had he been doing that had gotten him to this state today? That's right: Junior - his precocious growing boy - had told him that he wanted to be Wrecker when he grew up, just like his original had told him so many cycles ago.

"Oh - whazzat?" Dr. Wiley stumbled out of a stupor, sitting up in his chair at the sound of his office door opening. A friendly robot face emerged and wheeled inside. "Oh - it's just you, Anderos."

The new cafébot whisked up to Dr. Wiley's desk, skirting around the holo feed, and delivered the balding man his Longest Island Ice-T: Diet Nightcap.

"Your drink," it meted out in a synthetic bleat.

"'Atta boy, Anderos," muttered Dr. Wiley as he curled his hands around the refreshingly frosty drink glass.

The server-bot Anderos retrieved the empty glass Dr. Wiley had left on his desk and departed from the room without another word.

As Dr. Wiley took a sip from his liquid intoxicant, his eyes blearily locked onto something on the holo-screen: a detail he hadn't noticed before.

"Wait - - - I reck'nize that fuggn' hat!" Dr. Wiley blurted, and he suddenly set his drink aside and sat upright to type something out into his sponsor console. "I gotta stop Junior from killin' 'mself."

Listen Along: There Is No God - Mrs. Magician

"He speaks!" Theo Reticule exclaimed over the comms, in reaction to hearing Vatman Jones scream and then elicit a greeting over the airwaves. "Okay - there're three of us in rigs nearby, so just holler like you did over the comms if you need anything and we'll be right over!"

Theo scanned the greasy pits he was rapidly traversing in his Gamma Bounder, 'Terrabrad.'

"Oh, speaking of, keep yer peepers peeled for a Sarcophagous Horror that's been lurkin' about : it's a big blue lizard-guy covered in bones, like its the dinosaurmageddon going on or some shiv."

"Anywhatsits," Theo cut himself off, realizing he was rambling. "Nice to meatchu."

Booking it around the grease swamps in his overclocked Bounder, Theo leapt along his circuitous scan route while searching out for his clever reptilian bounty. He was hoping it would show itself and chase him like it had the last time they'd fought, but it didn't seem to want to show its face this time.

At the very end of his route, Theo was to meet Bonny Anne Elsewhere and Dunk Tuggum. When he drew nearer to their proposed meeting location, Theo heard the sound of rapid gunfire from Bonny-Anne's Gamma Enforcer riot cannons over his music.

"That you, Bonny-Anne? I'm comin' in hot - fresh and ready!" Theo warned, firing up TerraBrad into ramming gear.

With a mighty springing pounce, Theo's Bounder leapt gracefully into the air and landed with its feet right on the peak of a large meaty pustule, a squishy hill overlooking a swarm of Unctuous Horrors that were trying to defend their slippery Horror-orgy from the threat of Bonny-Anne Elsewhere's rig. As TerraBrad careened down the huge organic mass, the bulge's skin ruptured and spilled forth with a wave of frothing digestive fluids. On the heavy crash of burning acids and grease, Theo slid down the slope towards where Bonny-Anne was, skidding sideways on his Bounder's feet like a surfer.

The center mass of the writhing Unctuous Horror swarm was totally swept up by the sudden flood of corrosive liquids, and at the very end of the splash zone, Theo's Bounder skidded to a nice and clean stop in the shallow grease.

"I haven't seen a mass of noodlers that greasy since I ate a plate at Donato Magnifico's own restaurant!" Theo quipped, surveying the carnage of the thrashing beasts. "And lemme tell ya, my stomach was an unctuous horror the next day all right! Next time I'll just order myself some cooking oil straight from the bottle - cut out them noodlers!"

Theo made a smile with his toothy fangs. Despite his love for authentic gangster-adjacent cuisine, he was clearly on a comedic riff and need to ride this wave to shore.

Listen Along: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (live tour version) - Daft Punk

A new song popped onto Theo Reticule's TuneZEN and the dog-boy Wrecker snapped to attention at the sounds of the cheering crowds building within the ancient, live-recorded track. There was an anticipation growing in the pit of Theo's stomach: the expectation of prime loot. He could practically smell the greasy noodlers at Bibbity di Bobbity already, even through the closed hatch of his Bounder, 'TerraBrad'.

The six Unctuous Horrors that were attacking Bonny-Anne were finished - Dunk and Theo had seen to that. The two Wreckers' Bounders had made a mess of things, blowing out the contents of a large, meaty cyst filled with digestive acids all over the Horrors. The gathering of slimy lizard monsters had gone from thrashing about in the frenzied throes of copulative ecstasy to writhing frantically in the burning agony of the soon-to-be dead, all within moments. One of the slippery creatures had managed to slap a sizzling claw across Theo's Bounder as he passed by, leaving a splattering of burning acids to eat away at TerraBrad's paint job. Aside from that cosmetic damage, though, the rig's armor was otherwise unharmed.

"Wow, Dunk," Theo remarked over the comms, seeing that the fight was was gone from the horrors' eyes, "who'd'a thunk we'd pull off a score like this without any prep-work whatsoevs! Clutch as cargo, yo - way to go!"

If Theo and Dunk hadn't been in rigs at the time he would have suggested they perform the ancient rite of the high-five, but he'd leave that for another day's victory.

Theo activated TerraBrad's scrap-scraper protocols and set to work on collecting the Horrors' slowly-burning biomatter. He needed to squeeze out a little extra-refined medi-fluid from their biomass for a medical procedure, so he flicked on the MM-RATS' auto-skimmer and let the amazing rig tool work its magic.

As Theo and his rig cleaned up the area of available salvage, the Wrecker's suit worked overtime to scrub his irradiated bones clean and to regenerate the precious marrow within. Soon, Theo hoped, he'd be back on his feet without feeling quite so brittle!

Action: (No Autofalcons are charged, so no spoilers this time!)

Listen Along: Capricorn - Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra

The proud rig-thief-slash-Junker Theo Reticule spun his Bounder's MM-RATS tool around on its servo arm with a whizzing flourish - his salvage of the area was complete! With all the dead Unctuous Horrors he'd scooped up and processed with his rig's tooled skimmer, Theo had managed to top off on his suit's medi-fluid supply and still had more than enough of the gel to fill up a Restor8 pod to the brim. This was a good thing for Theo's overall health, as he had been sorely in need of more pick-me-up juice after that delivery drone had zapped his body full of intensely "magical" radiation. Though it didn't bear repeating, Theo's current working theory was that Pertinax had been sabotaging his krew's drones ever since they started up combat with Pertinax's Carnifex rig (and then destroyed it with their mascot, a baby horror).

Feeling the power of the medicines flooding his body, Theo waxed a little philosophical with some Hypertemple of Muscle Jesus scripture that he remembered from his lessons as a boy-pup.

"Though the rads may be scoured from my bones, yea, the radness of my soul was never diminished. - Brotholomew 4:20"

The radiation that the delivery drone had suffused Theo with had purged his body of poisons just fine, but Theo's hale and hearty constitution had been made so very frail in the process. Thankfully, with enough Sanigel supplemented with trace Maro-Gen converters, Theo's bones would be scrubbed back to normal in minutes. Even while managed by the advanced programs in Theo's suit, the medical procedure took time to set things straight because sometimes you needed to wait for quality results in the medical field. That, and Theo would have to refill his Sanigel supply after the first stage of the healing process was done.

"Wooze?" Theo queried, feeling the vertigo of a trip coming on. "Yeah..."

"Hurrm - Lifelink?" He murmured, reading a sudden status readout aloud.

Theo was looking at an icon-sized portrait of a hideous green-faced Wrecker with a prehensile tongue(?) sitting safely in the belly of a Beta rig.

"Yep-yep-yeppers..." He drawled a bit, and then wiped some drool from his lip. "Think things're gonna be jus' fine."

Movement:
Will post movement orders after Sponsor phase, thanks!

Listen Along: Let Forever Be - The Chemical Brothers

Calming drugs flooded Theo Reticule's systems, suffusing his body and brain with a dreamy, euphoric high that allowed him to completely ignore the searing pains that came from his medical bone scrubbers working their magic. Theo had felt butterflies in his stomach beforehand as the come-up had swelled. Now, it felt as though both he and his rig TerraBrad were walking on air, and TerraBrad's stabilizers could keep Theo from falling on his face.

Theo was so inundated with sublime pleasure, his mind cooling while he lounged ensconced in his rig's cockpit, that he barely even noticed the pair of delivery drones bearing gifts from Magitek Mafia fast approaching. The Sponsor-sent, Aeropath-piloted drones attached themselves to Theo's Bounder next to the side-hatch, and one of them rapped lightly on the window when Theo made no immediate effort to let them inside.

"Oh..." Theo moaned when he finally heard the knocking, "you guys want in. Hold on, lemme get it..."

After dramatically lolling his head to the side, Theo concentrated hard enough on what he was doing to slam his palm onto the button to release the side hatch, the small porthole used specifically for deliveries. The side-hatch's seal hissed and popped open and the HEALdrones' prehensile medi-tubes uncoiled and snaked inside to attach themselves to Theo's suit.

"Whoap! All aboard the fun-train!" Theo whooped, sitting deeper into his seat and letting the drug-laden medical drones attach themselves to his suit's medical stack. "Choo-choo!"

Suddenly, a giant armored spider with a human-like nose and mouth crawled inside the open side hatch and threw itself onto Theo's lap to clutch tightly onto the Wrecker's chest with its many limbs. The creature's many-eyed stare could've burned holes into the bottom of Theo's jaw, but he couldn't bear to look.

"Um," Theo balked, despite the power of the drugs. "Hello."

Theo tried not to think about it. He hadn't told Wrecking Crew LTD that he was afraid of spiders as it could have disqualified him, but here he was. All things considered, Theo was taking this latest turn of events rather well.

"You're just gonna sit there, are you?" Theo managed, as he felt the drugs from the HEALdrones pumping more relaxants into his veins. "Makes sense."

The hominid-arachnid breathed through it's mouth wetly, excited at being addressed.

Theo craned his neck back and stared at the cockpit's ceiling for a while. The rush of chemicals was almost too much for him; he felt close to swooning.

"I'm gonna call you..." Theo mumbled, then he rolled his head forward to look the Motile Biocover on his chest in its central pair of eyes. "HugBug."

The mutant spider began breathing marginally faster.

A drone's arm slipped something between Theo and his new pal to install a chip into his armor's left chest protector, and then the two drones disconnected from Theo's suit and detached themselves from Theo's Bounder to fly off.

"Um, Dunk..." Theo blurted at last, after fuzzily futzing with his comms settings. "I gotta get me some juice, so come with and I'll give you another thing I found! Bae, er Bonny-Anne, go tag up with the new guy and I'll be back..."

In his rig, Theo started bounding off. He didn't notice that he'd left his side-hatch open until he felt the perverse urge to stick his head out the window, to better sample the meaty air's bouquet.

Movement: (Dunk Tuggum, Bonny-Anne Elsewhere, and Vatman Jones can peek)
In his Bounder, Theo Jumps to the Luxe Crucible along a 4-hex route: 134 -> 123 -> 113 -> 903 -> 904!

Listen Along: Move Your Feet - Junior Senior

Hopping along in his Gamma Bounder 'TerraBrad', Theo just couldn't stop himself from bouncing along in his rig's cockpit to the aural beats being broadcast by his TuneZEN audio DVice. The bipedal walker's powerful but lightweight feet pounded into the soft, meaty floor and pushed off bits of bone and cartilage and sinew underneath, giving the Bounder a surprising amount of spring to its step. Gone were the days where Theo had to muck about in the grease shallows, constantly moving out of fear for getting stuck in the swamps. Now, at least, he was on solid ground chuck, with only a couple patches of greasiness here and there. Best of all, the Luxe Crucible's lights could be seen in the near distance, and Dunk Tuggum was on his way.

TerraBrad's foot stomped with a wet squelch onto a pair of pustules swelling from the floor, and Theo saw twin streams of ketchup red and mustard yellow goop jet out from the two pustules' pores, splattering the near wall with colorful sauces. Clearly, Theo had entered condiment country.

A pair of Unctuous Horrors tootled their frill spigots as they slipped out of a grease mire and approached the slimy seasoning Theo had sprayed. Theo continued along in his Bounder, his hatches firmly closed against the elements, but he knew that the Horrors wouldn't be satisfied with a sprinkling of sauce alone: what they really wanted to dine on was blood-bathed Wrecker meat. Theo understood that it would only be a matter of time before these overgrown grease geckos would show up at the Luxe Crucible too, looking for the three F's (a fight, some food, and a f...riend), and Theo wanted to be ready for their beastly advances.

Theo was so busy scanning the two Unctuous Horrors on his trail that he'd completely missed seeing three Ribbon Skates float down from the meat-cavern's ceiling and attach their energy-sucking mouths onto TerraBrad's exterior. When Theo noticed the warning flashes in his rig's display, he just about spit.

"Heyya, whazziss?" Theo slurred angrily, still moderately loopy from the drugs busily kickstarting his whole system.

"Unh, not - no!" He exclaimed, when he saw that there were three Ribbon Skates that had attached themselves to Theo's rig like a trio of flying remora eels.

Theo growled and leaned forward at his rigs controls. Still charging towards the Luxe Crucible, Theo angled his Gamma Bounder to run up alongside a meaty wall with a couple gristly bone spurs sticking out, grinding the rig up against the wall to scrape off one of the glowing translucent parasites.

The Ribbon Skate was splattered utterly, smeared against the wall like a grisly jam.

Encounter:
> Power Charge Attack (+4 Momentum and Gunner Mod) vs Ribbon Skate 1: 1d16 4 - Hit! (2+1)x5 = 15 Damage to Ribbon Skate 1 (2 -> 1/3 Rig Power)!

Listen Along: Just Dropped In - Kenny Rogers & The First Edition

Even though he'd taken the longer route, Theo Reticule's overclocked Gamma Bounder TerraBrad had enough of an edge that the dog-man-Wrecker was almost winning the Bounder-race to the Luxe Crucible. At the end very of the final stretch, however, Dunk and Theo had been neck and neck in their Bounders, so close to one another that Dunk had expertly rammed his rig into a Ribbon Skate attached to TerraBrad's hull, blowing out its innards like a bowling ball dropped onto a tube of toothpaste. The two Wreckers had pounded down the meatway to the finish line after that, where only one of them would cross it alive.

Just when Dunk and Theo were both only a single Bounder-leap away from reaching the Luxe Crucible's Rig access terminal, Dunk's Gamma Bounder suddenly shut down mid-stride and slammed to the ground in a crouching halt.

Theo didn't notice the Slüus logo splashed across the screen-of-death over Dunk's cockpit until he'd hit the race checkpoint, slowed down, and turned his rig fully around.

"That was close - Dunk?" Theo queried, his head cocking to the side.

The enigmatic D-Breaker Dunk Tuggum had performed some strange stunts in the past, and at first Theo had thought Dunk was pulling a fast one, but then he saw Dunk's vitals were gone, his comms were unresponsive, Dunk was slumped over in his cockpit camera with a dark ichor seeping from his cranial cavity, and a slew of notifications from the Wrecking Crew Challenge App was telling him that Talcum B. Buzzen was being credited and rewarded for the kill.

"I'm sorry - what?!" begged Theo, stunned and incredulous, and then he took a selfie to commemorate the moment.

Just as he sent off the Precious Moment to Wrecking Crew H.Q.'s review, a comms signal from inside the Luxe Crucible was sent his way.

Lónan Murder-Birb posted:

"Hey there, wrecker designation Reticule was it? Friendunit or foeunit? You got some mighty salvage opz set up here, fancy sharing? Though uh, might have to hold that thought. There is about half a dozen bogies inbound and my backpack is full of volatiles so you best be settin' up an ambush or something. Sorry! Price of admission an' all that. I'd get in the freebounder but I can't risk the Crucible kersploding if I take my hands of off this barrel of worms, you understand right? So uh, try not to shake things around to much whilst I get that done if you want to stay in one piece. Peace."

It was Lónan Murder-Birb, the one Exo-Wrangler with the murderobo-bird that had killed Theo's Autofalconoid Merlin earlier this season, aptly enough. According to the Challenge App, Lónan had recovered Merlin's Remotivator.

"Uh... what?!" Theo managed. "Sure, whatevs L. Murder-Birb. I gotsta bounce for a refill anyways - they're all yours: both the Luxe Crucible and the Dunk-man's old Bounder. Corny gratis to you for all your lots. Peace."

Another message from another channel caught Theo's attentions. He had to stay put: a delivery from Diamond IAMC (of all Sponsors) was sending something his way.

"Oh," Theo said to Lónan, striking up conversation again. "and if you'd ever see a reason to want to return to me my Merlin's bitz, by the by, I'd be plenty appreciative. Birdz will be Birbz!"

While he and Lónan were talking shop, Theo dug around in his toolkit and his scrap-bag: if he was chatting with a fellow Wrecker then had time to work. He had his busted LEKTR0flangR to fix, after all, before he got himself re-juiced.

> FullACT: Theo spends 1 Scrap to repair his Broken LEKTR0flangR!

> Note: don't forget the Cursed Chapeau's new effect in Hazard phase!(?)

Sponsors: Whoa whoa whoa, not so hasty there, Diamond IAMC: I just saw your order for me right after Dunk died mysteriously, a kill that was credited to your sponsored Wrecker, Talcum B. Buzzen. While I appreciate you buying me, Dunk's co-Wrecker, a cheap-but-helpful supply item that I could use with my Gamma Bounder, I couldn't help but notice that - instead of a helpful HEALdrone or SHOTdrone - you're sending it to me on an Experimental RADrone... which could actually be more detrimental to me than the Fabrikit would be helpful! Just so you're warned, anything bad that comes out of this delivery will likely result in an appropriate response from the proper entities! Thanks!

Sponsors 2: Hey, yo, so, Magitek Mafia, something fishy-squishy is up. I could really use the following order, as soon as magically possible (I'll have enough Luxe after this selfie gets processed!):
> Order: one HEALdrone delivery (25L) of an Experimental Scanning Auto-Recon-Falconoid (5L) for 30 Luxe (30 Theo).

Listen Along: Dreams - Fleetwood Mac

The dog-snouted Wrecker Theo Reticule sampled the air outside his Bounder's side-hatch and gazed off into the distance.

"Oh yeah, on the friendly wreccomend:" Theo spoke to Lónan Murder-Birb over the local comms, "you'll be stylin' to help one Wrecker out by the name of Vatman Jones coming this way. He might have a stake in the Dunk-man's... er, legacy."

Theo paused for a moment to let the other Wrecker register the information.

"I don't got the crystal vision or nothing but I gets a drug-sent vision from time to time. I... I think we've met before, in a time before a time..." Theo blurted, feeling an insane level of déja vu.

"Anyway," he said, floundering a bit at the meta-awareness of it all, "I don't gots no reason to stay here, on account of this here hat I've found."

"Cursed." He declared, becoming aware of this fact only the moment just before he said it. "If I don't go, you're gonna have an even worse time of it, my new friend."

"I need to deal with the bad juju, one way or the other. Come find me at the Fabric8r," Theo said to Lónan. "Take Dunk's Bounder and come with the Vatman, Mr. Jones. I can sniff you out when you're near, 'specially if you send me a comms at two or less clicks away."

Theo winked for his rig's main interior camera, a furtive and clever motion mostly lost behind his implanted waystunna-shades.

"When the rain washes you clean, you'll know." Theo murmured, hypnotized by the ancient track playing on his TuneZEN.

Listen Along: KC Accidental - Broken Social Scene

The dog-boy Wrecker in the black and gold-trimmed Gamma Bounder shook his head ruefully, and then he responded to Lónan Murder-Birb's comms messages in kind.

"Now there I go again - my 'pologies." Theo Reticule chastised himself, showing a spark of snark for his own rambling. "I've gotten my head all muddied with the strange thinklings my brain-meat fills the gaps with whenever I'm on a bender."

Theo swiveled in his seat and pivoted his Bounder in place outside to the Luxe Crucible and hastily scanned the surrounding area, searching for anything that might be approaching their position. There was supposed to be a delivery drone inbound from Diamond IAMC bearing a Fabrikit with Theo's name on it.

"And you - you're the Murder-Birb, Lónan." Theo said, regurgitating what Lónan had just told him. "You... survived the sarcastroid strikes on Venus?! Woe-becomin' mang, tha's ruff stuff. Think I woulda 'membered that if we'd met before, tho. So-"

A ping flashed across Theo's comms, distracting him for a moment: his package was officially marked off as delivered, and Talcum B. Buzzem had signed off on its receipt. Weird.

"Pertinax." Theo swore under his breath, clenching a fist in the air.

Obviously something had gone awry with yet another experimental delivery drone, and Theo wasn't getting the goods this time. Theo glanced back to his rig's main camera, to "face" Lónan in their comms interface.

"So: I guess I don't need to stay here after all. I'll see ya later, then? Good luck with the Bounder and the Vatman - you can tell him 'hai' from me. I-"

Theo's expression soured as he spotted a detail in the Wreckerfeeds he was reviewing that felt like a punch in the gut. Theo stared off into the east, towards where Dunk had suddenly been facing in the moment just before he'd died from Talcum shooting themselves in the head.

"I got some business to take care of." Theo admitted in a serious tone, and he bounced away in his Bounder.

Sponsors: Wow: after all that bluster, Diamond's RADDdrone doesn't even deliver properly, which is fine by me! A Fabrikit for my rig would've been a good thing to have, but I'd rather not have to go through getting irradiated all over again for one if I can help it! To Magitek Mafia: thanks for standing by! Listen Along: IFUCKINGLOVEYOU - Big Black Delta

Riding inside his slick Gamma Bounder 'TerraBrad', the dog-like Wrecker Theo Reticule blasted along the moist and meaty landscape at full pelt, seeking out his kill target du jour. Theo was looking for a certain cretinous creature or combo creature-array, and he was aiming to run that thing down as quickly as Bounderly possible.

The Junker-Wrecker Theo was only partway through his passage to the east when he suddenly spotted a subject on his Wreckord scans that was worth his attentions. Magitek Mafia has said as much with their Challenges to Theo: the chapeau upon his dome-piece was a haunted hat, and Theo had to commit to killing a 'somewhat sizable soul' in order to consecrate his cursed cap with good juju. Lurching leftward on his Bounder's controls, Theo took the leaping TerraBrad on a rounding arc that brought him charging somewhere towards the north to hit his spirit-releasing quota.

The Wreckers Opal Dang-Cobra and Acolyte were currently tangoing with the creeper creature feature, and bow-oh-wow were they in for a surprise when Theo showed up!

Theo spotted Opal's cyberlance glowing in the distance before he noted any other signs of life. If they were trying to remain hidden from the mutants in the area, one of them was not doing a particularly good job of it!

"Coming in fast - don't mind the rig and you won't get squashed!" Theo announced over the comms to both the partially-concealed Wreckers.

"I saw your spear tip from a click away, just about!" Theo admitted in advance of the question, as he continued rushing to the scene in his Bounder. "I came as soon as I saw... y'know, It was in the area. Anyway, where is that horrid clow-"

TerraBrad suddenly stomped on something large, wet, and squishy, completely skidding and slipping as its two massive metal feet were sent flying into the air. Theo and his rig somersaulted backwards and slammed onto the meaty turf on Terrabrad's back, making some bladder beneath the rig erupt in a noisy, honking torrent of rancid gas.

There was a pause, and then combat erupted all around Theo.

"Whu..?! Was that the Thing?" Theo managed at last, trying to get his Bounder back onto its feet.

Encounter:

Listen Along: Oh No - Girl Talk

As he was rocking his Gamma Bounder back and forth on the noisy bladder to roll his bipedal rig back onto its feet, Theo Reticule's DVice bleeped out his Concordant Companion's assessment of the situation in a chipper semitone.

"Good news!" It attempted at cheer. "Your Concordant Companion has confirmed your rig remains in fully-functional condition following its fall! Rig sensors still indicate multiple units flagged as hostiles. Be sure to remain safe!"

"Yeah, yeah - 'don't panic'..." Theo responded dismissively, still rocking in his seat. "Just lemme get this flounder flipped..."

At the right moment in his rocking roll, Theo jammed on the controls to make his Bounder TerraBrad tuck in its leg joints and then rapidly thrust them outward to send the rig leaping back onto its feet with a nimble, springing pounce.

"Yippee-yee ki-yay!" Theo exultantly crowed over his rig's external bullhorns, facing his rig's weapons towards the remaining mutants.

"Now SCRAM, you little meatlings!" he barked.

Upon hearing the rig's threat and seeing its assault weapons leveled at them, the wounded Manburglar and its Nuggety cohort stopped whaling on Opal Dang-Cobra in time to break for cover, showing some small modicum of sense. Theo fired a few warning shots in their general direction to encourage their flight, but he didn't commit to a killing pursuit.

"The meat people are easily startled, but they'll soon be back, and in greater numbers." Theo spoke over the comms to Opal and Acolyte, nodding sagely.

The rig-riding dog-Junker started ambling his Gamma Bounder up the slope of a large outcropping of cartilage to get a better vantage point of the surrounding cavernous area.

"Anywhozits," Theo continued, fiddling with some scan-assist agents through his Concordant Companion, "can someone confirm for me that the critter I just creamed was a certain Calorie Court carné-clown? Not gonna lie, I'm only here on this extermination mission as a detour, so I can't really stick around and crack wise over some cracked brews. My B, my Junkies."

Theo felt his Spinal Array flaring to life as he cracked open his rig's side hatch and tested the air with his sensitive dog-snout. According to a ping from his DVice, something synthetic should be on the way...

To create the appearance of seeming sobriety, Dr. Skipp Wiley Sr. snuffed out the vaporizer stem he'd been holding in his mouth and waved the purplish mists away from the viewscreen's camera angle on his face.

"Hello, you!" Dr. Wiley exclaimed when he saw the professional woman's face suddenly appear within his console's viewscreen. "Good to see you!"

"Yeah, no, it's been far too long, Jucika." Dr. Wiley confessed to the woman only he could hear. "You've been so busy lately - and who am I to keep you down?"

"Still," he relented. "I'm glad you could fit me in on such short notice."

Dr. Skipp Wiley Sr. brought a large and clear carbonated beverage in a frosted glass to his lips.

"Mineral water," Dr. Wiley spoke after a gulp, averting eye contact with the viewscreen as he set the drink down. "So-"

The Director of Sponsorship Affairs at Cosmiq's headquarters pounded his chest lightly and let a small burp escape his throat.

"These days, I seem to think a lot about the things that I forgot to do... And all the times I had the chance to -" Dr. Wiley admitted. "They're coming up a second time around with, er, the little ones. It's cathartic, in a way. I get to do better the second time around..."

"Now here I go again - you don't want to hear about them, do you?" Dr. Wiley rounded, catching himself. "You can read me like a book, really. Y'know, I had a dream with you in it last night-"

Dr. Wiley paused for a moment before cutting off the voice on the other end of the comms line.

"Please - Jucika - don't confront me with my failures," Dr. Wiley protested. "I had not forgotten them."

"I swore to you, my butter-basted batter dumpling," Dr. Wiley wheedled, "I told you I would not let their memory go to waste."

As he engaged in his therapeutic conversation, Dr. Skipp Wiley Sr. suddenly thought to open a messaging window in his Sponsor Console.

Listen Along: She's a Big Boy - Mcbaise

From the inside of his Gamma Bounder 'TerraBrad,' the Junker Theo Reticule beamed his scan data to every other Wrecker he knew to be in his expanded comms range.

"There, that oughta clear it - " Theo broadcast, his Spinal Array powering down to its ambient comms signal level "Slitherin', Shines, and Cyka, thanks for tuning in to K-Theo radio. I'm sure we'll see each other in close-up meatspace sometime soon. In the meantime, keep your lids peeled for danger!"

A shrill, gurgling howl emerged from elsewhere in the meat caverns in response: the crooning call of the Nugget.

"Oh no," Theo murmured, clicking onto the comms with Opal Dang-Cobra and Acolyte. "Y'all, we gots more meat-men loping up."

Sure enough, Theo's overworked bioscanners were showing the approach of a Mutant Jailer and two more Manburglars. This was starting to get hairy.

"Oh, rough!" Theo burst, when he saw his scanners' readouts of Opal and Acolyte's armor systems. "The Hat's gotten to you, too..."

In his Bounder, Theo effortlessly hopped down the side of the giant cartilage outcropping and stomped through the meatscape to approach the other two Junkers, Opal-Dang Dobra and Acolyte.

"It's fine. It'll be fine." Theo explained, trying to assess the situation. "We just gotta de-curse this thing together, which means I need a volunteer to stay here so I can shoot one of you..."

Sensing their discomfort, Theo scrambled for a better solution for ending the Hat's contagious curse.

"Or: or! We go hunting that thing that's marked on the map - right, that's what you're here for, isn't it? Well, anyway, you saw my scans..."

Sizing them each up for a ride atop his rig, Theo was surprised by how much shorter Opal was than the cameras usually made her out to be. Maybe it had to do with Acolyte and her Jacklegz©, though...

"So - who's up for a bouncy rig-ride on outta here? Climb up on 'TerraBrad's' back and I'll get us where we need to go! These Bounder boots were made for walking, after all!

He had his Bounder jog in place for a second to get their blood pumping. It was time to get a move on, and the mutant brigade was coming for them.

Listen Along: Rising Down (feat Mos Def and Styles P) - The Roots

The black and gold-trimmed Gamma Bounder named 'Terrabrad' barreled through the grease swamps on its spring-loaded legs with semi-reckless abandon. Theo Reticule piloted while Opal Dang-Cobra and Acolyte hung onto the rig's roof rack for dear life. Despite the rig-ride being of the 'dangerously overclocked' variety, Theo made sure that he didn't go nearly so fast with TerraBrad that he'd be liable to lose one of his passengers, all while still maintaining enough speed to keep the extra-loaded rig from sinking into the meaty mire.

"I'm peeping something popping off just ahead!" Theo announced, after spotting some kind of beastly activity happening deeper in the swamp on his scanners. "I'm gonna take us in!"

In the midst of the grease swamp was a ruin, with looming piles of metal, equipment, and construction materials at various stages of corrosion. There was a good and large frothing mass of greasy bubbles at the center of the swampy ruin, which as far as Theo could tell could well be the telltale signs of the Burgertherium. On its way inside the skeletal building's foundation, TerraBrad passed by a sizable sample of Fat Scat, which further solidified Theo's suspicions of the monster's proximity.

"The burger-beastie is close - I can practically smell it!" Theo relayed over the comms to Opal and Acolyte.

That's when the seven Meaty Sliders slipped out of their slimy bubble orgy for a fight and the two Greaser rigs (apparently watching the whole thing) stepped out from hiding.

"Buh-roawh?" Theo blurted, upon seeing the two gamma rigs stepping into his way and leveling their cannons at him.

He warned his two passengers of the impending collision. "You'd best hop on off the back, my chummettes, because this rig's about to make a very quick stop!"

When he heard and saw Opal and Acolyte hop and roll off the back of TerraBrad and onto the squishy, grease-slicked floor, Theo punched his accelerators up for rig-ramming speed.

"This one was taught to me by the Capo Stregone himself, Mister Donato Magnifico: one Magitek Mafia Mega-Punch, coming right up!"

Theo spun TerraBrad's MM-RATS out on its control arm and clocked the enemy Greaser across the cockpit with it, just as the rest of TerraBrad slammed its ramming plates into the other Gamma rig's body.

Listen Along: Fuel - Metallica

From the depths of the grease swamp, the massive Burgertherium charged forth in a slippery froth of oils and spit, straight at Theo Reticule and his two Junker comrades-at-arms. The giant beast's scythe-like claws swung out powerfully towards Opal Dang-Cobra's neck, but the young woman was still tumbling from her dismount from Theo Reticule's rig and the mega-meat-sloth's cumbersome swipes missed her, through blind luck entirely.

"Whoof! Thar she blows!" Theo exclaimed, looking up from the rekt Gamma Greaser he'd just smashed apart with TerraBrad.

The accursed kufi atop Theo's headplate felt somehow heavier, tighter, and slightly colder to the touch once Theo set eyes upon the Burgertherium. He innately knew from his bio-readouts that this majestic megafauna would be the perfect sacrifice to finally fix the chapeau's contagious curse.

The colossal Burgertherium issued a bleating roar in obscene rage at having lost a potential meal for itself, and it lurched towards Opal and Acolyte to menace them with its unstoppable size.

"Stand back," Theo cautioned his Wreck-mates. "This lil' cutie's mine: I'm on wizard business."

Theo positioned his Bounder TerraBrad between the humongous sloth and the two Wreckers on foot and proceeded to lure the mighty monster into a circle around the grease-swamped ruins.

"Lemme just grab a look-see on this lunkhead before we say bye-bye," Theo explained, firing up his Spinal Array for a tight-band scan of the meat monster's natural habits, habitats, diet, and weaknesses - anything that could be used for an advantage against it. "I've always had a soft spot for nature docs, and anyway, I need a little space ta jam TerraBrad back up to ramming speed!"

Listen Along: Search And Destroy - Iggy & The Stooges

While Theo Reticule slammed out the data he'd dug up from Calorie Court's carnelogical databases, the muscles around the Burgertherium's already-big body suddenly bunched up and swelled prodigiously, bulking the beast up to an enormous size. The monster's corded flesh stretched taut like red water-logged ropes and it suddenly collapsed to its knees in the grime-swamp's ground-up meat-turf. It roared, spittily.

"It doesn't look like it can move much in this state." Theo remarked over the comms to both Opal and Acolyte. "Keep your guards up, guyos, I'll be back in a lubed-up jiffy-pop."

Theo jammed on his Gamma Bounder's controls and the rig named 'TerraBrad' lurched on its swamp-stuck legs to pivot its walking to the left, winding a large circle around the enraged mega-sloth.

"Keep on me, you miserable slab of jerky!" Theo barked at the Burgertherium over his rig's bullhorns. "I've had bigger meals on my avocatoast for Brünch™!

Once he was sure he'd lured the lumbering megafauna far enough within the midst of the marshy grease mire, Theo pumped the forward accelerators of his rig's controls and diverted all of Terrabrad's available power into its bounding mode.

"Ha-ha, can't catch me now!" chortled Theo, exhilarated by his rig's power. "I'm just too fast!"

Theo popped his cockpit's side hatch and craned his nose as close to the small porthole as he could, giving a few tentative sniffs of the dank atmosphere outside. He was hoping for a few deliveries to be coming their way soon.

Listen Along: Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora) - Harry Belafonte

When Theo Reticule saw the JOLTdrone from Magitek Mafia fast approaching his Gamma Bounder's side hatch, a jaunty little calypso tune popped onto his TuneZEN's music stream.

"Oh yeahr!" Theo responded to the drums, swaying in his seat to the beat of the thoroughly tropical tune. "That's the kinda stoof I can groove to!"

Despite being actively (but slowly) chased around the area by the beastly Burgetherium, Theo brought his rig TerraBrad to a halt to wait for the delivery drone's arrival. While he waited, however, Theo made his Bounder stamp in place while leaning from left to right like it was dancing. Not only did it look like a fun rig dance - it also kept his Bounder treading grease so it didn't get stuck in the muck.

The Aeropath-piloted JOLTdrone arrived at TerraBrad's side and spent a quick moment nodding and scanning Theo's rhythmic dance routine before it reached out a bouncing manipulator arm and fastened itself to the swaying Bounder's delivery hatch. Once it had drawn itself in close to the rig, a second drone arm snaked inside the side hatch and hooked itself up to Theo's LEKTR0flangR on his suit's resource belt.

"Juice me up, Johnny!" Theo said to the drone in his best Shining III impression while piloting the rig's swamp-churning samba. "I need the good stuff this time!"

There was no shower of sparks this time: no smoke, no searing heat, and most of all, no broken LEKTR0flangR. Just as Theo had hoped, more Power was being pumped into his suit's battery systems through the arm of the JOLTdrone.

"Thanks, Jack - don't mind if I do!" Theo remarked, and the JOLTdrone detached itself from Theo's suit to make a very special deposit.

The delivery drone clambered atop TerraBrad's rocking roof and released the contents of an egg-shaped parcel-pod, and a hungry hangry Hoarding Horror broke out. The barely-intelligent baby sauroid let loose a infantile roar.

"Bah! Bah!" It protested, scrabbling for purchase on the Bounder's topsy-turvy roof rack with its little blue claw nubs.

"That's it, 'Bah'!" Theo responded, cheering on his new pet with it's self-given moniker. "Hold on tight little 'Bah'-ddy!"

The tiny Hoarding Horror hatchling did its very best to grapple onto the nearest roof rack pole with its mouth and forelimbs, but its back legs kept bouncing against the Bounder's bouncing and swaying roof.

"Rock your body, child!" Theo recommended over the rig's bullhorns.

Upon seeing the Wrecker encouraging the infant Horror to dance with the rig's swaying motion, the JOLTdrone promptly left the scene.

"Somebody help me!" Theo exclaimed, confessing his inexperience with monster babies, leaving the bullhorns playing Theo's music stream as Terrabrad stomped to the beat.

Almost miraculously, the baby Hoarding Horror 'Bah' seemed to adapt quickly to its new, constantly-moving world, especially when it tuned in to the music. It gained a feeble balance with its hind limbs and slowly learned to brace itself against the Gamma rig's roof so that it was no longer getting tossed about as much.

"Alrighty - hold on there, Bah," Theo cooed, announcing his intentions to the most innocent horror child. "We're going for a loop!"

Theo put his Bounder back into forward gear to move Terrabrad through the muck, away from the Burgertherium still closing in on them. He watched the roof rack's cameras and tried to ignore the baby beast's muffled mewls of righteous anger.

"Atta baby, Bah! Keep at it!" Theo said, and he locked the rig into a circular jogging path.

Listen Along: Right Place Wrong Time - Dr. John

A soulfully funky bass guitar, drums, and brass line built up over Theo Reticule's TuneZEN audio stream and suddenly the Wrecker was immersed in a brand new psychedelic sensation. He bopped his head to the buzzing electric bassline and realized he'd made up his mind: it was time to do or to die - showtime!

"Alright, enough's enough!" Theo declared over the comms to both Acolyte and Opal Dang-Cobra. "I think we've gotten enough nature footage and I'm not leaving you two stranded here: we can put this mega critter down for good, right now!"

In his custom black and gold-fringed Gamma Bounder 'TerraBrad', Theo began blasting away at the beefed-up Burgertherium with his rig's rapid fire breach assault guns. The lumbering giant bellowed in rage and increased its pace from glacial to tidal.

"Opal, you in position?" Theo queried over the comms, craning his need to look at his readouts without turning his Bounder's forward-facing guns away from the wall of angry Burgertherium muscle closing in on them.

Theo saw that Opal was, in fact, prepared for her 'launch,' and as he scanned the local readouts further Theo noticed five rigs stepping into his cameras' views: four Gamma Greasers and one Beta Broiler were lying in wait for them in the grease swamp ruins, ready to strike at any moment. Beyond that, three Meaty Sliders were pulling themselves out of the wreckage that Acolyte had collapsed upon their shelled backs earlier, and they were fast approaching the Wreckers' positions from their exposed side.

"MM-RATS, we're in a pinch" Theo cursed, and suddenly he thought of the Cursed Chapeau sitting atop his skullplate yet again. "That Greaser what got away must've brought its pals..."

The dog-boy Wrecker didn't dare turn his overclocked rig's weapons away from firing nonstop at the Burgertherium approaching them, however tempting that was. Instead, he kept backing up Terrabrad up towards where Opal Dang-Cobra had set up with her DragnSlayR rocket lance. While Theo fired an endless amount of muscle-puncturing pellets at the gargantuan meat-sloth, it screamed in defiance and kept swiping at TerraBrad with its fore-claws. While TerraBrad's spinning railguns blasted away at the massive and rare megafauna, Theo felt the strange, bloodied cap warming up on his head.

"Oh Wwwizards Great and Powerful," intoned Theo, over the sound of his overheating railguns, "Don't you fail me now!"

A great disturbance was coming this way, Theo knew, he could feel it in his third eye.

Theo's voice became more professional "This hat De-Cursing was officially brought to you by Magitek Mafia. Who's the wise guy now?"

The beefy Burgertherium lunged, just as the enemy Greasers and Broiler emerged from cover and opened fire, and the three Meaty Sliders slid out for an opportunistic assault from behind. It was purée carnéage.

Listen Along: The Next Episode - Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg

As the humongous Burgertherium approached, the Gamma Greasers suddenly opened up their rig-sized salvo upon Theo Reticule's position from afar. One of their massive mortar shells struck Theo's Bounder 'TerraBrad' in the center mass, knocking the lightweight gamma rig off-balance.

The massive meat monster Burgertherium took this moment of opportunity to make a dive after TerraBrad, sweeping its humongous claws and landing on top of the Gamma rig. Theo and his rig were knocked off their feet and pinned to the ground underneath the furious wall of meat. Throughout all of this, Theo kept his rig weapons trained on the burger-beast firing nonstop at the mountain of muscle. It was clearly hurting it, but it simply wasn't enough to kill it outright!

The Burgertherium reached back, aiming to slam its claw through TerraBrad's cockpit, all while the Gamma rig's overheating weapons pumped tiny rounds into the monster's neck and shoulder...

Just when Theo Reticule thought that he and his rig were surely toast, Opal Dang-Cobra rocketed straight through the lunging Burgertherium with her cyber-lance, then looped in midair and performed the coup de grace on the beast, her DragnSlayR punching through the giant sloth's thick skull.

The Burgberg slumped on top of Theo's rig and he managed to squirm the rig TerraBrad out from underneath, only to find that the enemy Beta Broiler had stomped in too and was attempting to light Opal on fire with huge gouts of flame. Opal's Motile Bio-Cover valiantly stepped in the inferno's way to protect its mistress, but it had been very a close call.

The shelled Meaty Sliders slid in from behind to attack the limping rig TerraBrad, as Theo fired its weapons roughly in the direction of the Greasers. Theo attempted to address his sensors' threats with his Bounder's weapons, but TerraBrad was too damaged to get an accurate bead on the slippery Sliders underfoot.

Out of the corner of his eye-feed, Theo suddenly noticed in his rig's cameras that his newly-wrangle'd Horror pet 'Bah' had let go of the roof rack with its mouth and prehensile tongue.

"Hold on tight, Bah!" Theo exclaimed to his Hoarding Horror over TerraBrad's bullhorns, trying not to panic. "We're fighting, see, and- no!"

Bah the baby Horror listened to its master, and it lashed its tongue out at a load-bearing metal beam supporting a large section of junk and wreckage balanced precariously overhead, and the whole upper deck of the grease-corroded building they were fighting inside suddenly came toppling down over their enemies, burying them all in heavy waste and rubble.

The Meaty Sliders were snuffed out utterly by the junk tower's crushing weight. The Greasers and the Beta Broiler were contained by the sheer carnage of the collapse, but they were otherwise undamaged. Theo knew: they would be out of their temporary prisons soon, and Theo wanted to be ready for them.

In his damaged Gamma Bounder, Theo limped over to see how his two Junker companions were faring. Both of them seemed to be largely unharmed from the attack.

"Can I get a Fabrikitter put to work on this bust-up rig of mine?" Theo asked, of either Opal Dang-Cobra or Acolyte. "My Sponsor's gotten me on a practical joke I think - seems they sent me something other than a Fabrikit like I asked for..?"

The dog boy Wrecker Theo fiddled with a strange Flare Lens attached to his suit where his Fabrikit once was. He scratched his head under where the newly de-cursed chapeau met his floppy ears.

"At least... I don't remember when I got this..?" Theo muttered, mostly to his Motile Bio-Cover, 'Hugbug'.

The Junker Wrecker Theo Reticule put his eyepiece up to the Flare Lens utility and felt his Spinal Array activate with artificial life. With his sensitive dog snout, he smelled the tinny musk of ozone tingling in his nostrils as his internal scanners sent him details...

Theo had the distinct feeling that something wasn't quite right here. He was trying to make sense of it all, still trying to recall what had happened to that Fabrikit he'd had delivered and set up on his suit not too long ago. More importantly, who were these people he'd seen inside the Flare Lens when he'd held it up to his eye? He searched his memory databases for three distinct and vaguely familiar faces...

Of course: it was that Krew of Wreckers from the last season, RISE: the Face Krew. Theo's hackles raised as he felt his body's hairs standing on end. Face Krew? But... weren't they all dead now? Ra Maximum had been killed right before Theo's very eyes by the Carnifex, and the other two had died during RISE... hadn't they?

Whatever it was, this strange object in his possession was obviously powerful juju - so it was a good thing that Theo had Magitek Mafia in his corner for times like these.

Carefully, Theo put the Flare Lens back in its slotted holster on his Combat Suite and noticed his rig's systems were already all green.

"Thanks for patching-up 'TerraBrad,' er, Acolyte, was it?" Theo asked, offering his appreciation to the Jacklegz©-using Wrecker. "You were done so fast, I hardly even noticed!"

With Acolyte clear of his way, Theo tested out his Bounder's joints and motor systems, then flashed the other Junker a thumbs up and a grin. "Next time I get my hatched popped I'll hit you back with some Sanigel, fer sure!"

"Now," Theo started mumbling over his rig's bullhorns, pivoting around to scan the scene, "where oh where did my hungry little horror wander off to?"

"Oh there you are, Bah!" Theo declared, and he stomped through the grease swamp towards the bloated Horror sleeping insensate atop a bed of Burgertherium meat. "Oh, wow - how much of that Burgberg did you burg out on, you little burgermonger?"

With his Gamma rig's MM-RATS, Theo gently scooped up the torpid baby Horror from the ground chuck and deposited the squamous sleeper in the center of his rig's roof rack.

An alert from Wrecking Crew LTD caught Theo's attention. Parasitic Ribbon Skates were going to start their spawning cycle within the flesh of the freshly-killed. Now was probably not the right time for Theo and his allies to find out just how fresh those Meaty Slider corpses needed to be for the Skates to take a liking to them, not the mention all that Burgertherium meat Bah hadn't eaten yet.

"You all saw that alert, right?" Theo asked, to both Acolyte and Opal Dang-Cobra. "Climb on up onto TerraBrad again, my Junkers, and help keep my sleepy Horror-buddy from slipping off... I swear: this time I won't stop until we're out of this muck!"

Theo jogged in place with his rig's two feet to keep TerraBrad from sinking too deep into the sucking thickness of the grease marshes. He was ready and raring to go!

Busily eating at his otherwise-immaculate holo-suite office desk, Dr. Skipp Wiley slurped down a blood red saucer8d noodler and wiped at the corner of his lips with a fabrinap. An alert had blipped across his console's screen, notifying the Director of Sponsorship Affairs of recent Sponsor activity on Wrecking Crew.

"Oho, now here's a spicy little meatball," Dr. Wiley said, smacking his lips and spearing a spiced protein sphere in his noodlers with a fork. "-And this Histori-Corp's Challenge is quite the flavorful banquet platter, too."

Dr. Wiley jammed the peppery mincemeat orb into his craw and shoved the bowl of shovel-food aside while he chewed. He could eat the rest of it later. For now, he had work to do on his original and official backstory for the Junker in the current season known as Theo J. Reticule.

The Biographics of Theo Reticule posted:

Name: Theophilharmonic Johannes Reticule
Age: 28 E-years
Height: 5'9" / 1.524m
EWeight: 165lbs / 75kg
DoB: Blursday, Hextober 17th, D-XX56, Year of the Sugar-Bombed G8R Crunchies
Hair: BLND // Eyes: HZL
Hometown: New Johannesburg
Distinguishing Marks: Dog-faced
Notes On Criminal Record: Breaking and Entering (a Cybernetic Realspace), Grand Theft Rig, Armed Political Protesting, Mail Sabotage, Public Micturition, Unlawful Streaming

The contestant in Heap 3, Season 1 of Wrecking Crew with the Junker designation known as Theo Reticule (full name Theophilharmonic Johannes Reticule) was born to a small enclave of custom cortical craftspeople in the cybertown of New Johannesburg, South Africa. As a strange quirk of his genetic expression, Theo was born with bifurcated eyes in addition to what the medical community came to discover as an anomalous condition in the human genome called 'Dog-face'. With the honed olfactory senses and seemingly dog-like sensibilities of canis familiaris, Theo was a medical mystery for a while; his records were not released until he came of age and signed his genetic code away to Cosmiq Pharmaware in exchange for a lifetime guarantee plan for his Personal Wellness Network and an expulsion from the juvenile detention center he was assigned to after a major loitering charge went sour.

Despite the special corporate attention from Cosmiq, Theo found himself nonetheless attracted to a life of crime. With his cybernetic Rigspike augmentation and Spinal Array commsmitter, in XX75 Theo jacked himself into an artificial cyberverse created for a major promotional event and forced its patrons to watch a video containing numerous dogs throwing up set to classical music. In XX77 Theo Reticule was found guilty on charges of driving a stolen Punkin8R Harvesting Rig while intoxicated on chocohol, and shortly after his release in XX78 Theo was found guilty of tampering with the Official Postal Service by providing a getaway vehicle for the Pony Soldier Bombers.

When Theo was ejected from the prison system for exemplary behavior in personal cell management, he contacted his patrons at Cosmiq Pharmaware for a shot at trying their patented Wrecker Training Simulator. He passed its recommended specs with flying colors and was soon brought up to speed as Cosmiq's newest entrant to the Wrecking Crew games.

Despite his rough-and-tumble life, Theo Reticule is a creative and cuddly home-dog. He's a dogged fan of old music, likes ball-games of all kinds, prefers brewskis with the buds over stimutacs, and wants his walks on the beach to be set to synthwave.

When asked why he wanted to be in the Wrecking Crew games, Theo Reticule said, "I want to wake up from the Decreean Dream - see the world from my old eyes."

"There, that oughta do it!" Dr. Wiley professed, dragging his bowl of noodlers front and center so he could eat while he edited the type. "Now, if any of this is even remotely close to what he told me way back when... then I deserve a medal."

COSMIQ SPECIAL CHALLENGE COMPLETION: (To be completed on behalf of Theo Reticule, in MOV Phase of Round 15 if possible!)

Listen Along: Two-Headed Boy - Neutral Milk Hotel

The dog-man-Wrecker Theo Reticule with the Rig-unlocking mods had his Gamma Bounder 'TerraBrad' leap along a path of hardened nodules in the fleshy floors of CYST until he and his passengers were free from the goopy grasp of the grease marsh. While Theo sat safely ensconced in his rig's sealed cockpit, Opal Dang-Cobra and Acolyte hitched a ride exposed to the elements on TerraBrad's roof with the sole instruction of keeping the pet Horror sleeping up there with them from sliding off. Theo figured it must have been somewhat cramped up there, on the rig's roof above his head - the slumbering Horror 'Bah' was a fast-growing dino-tyke who'd proven itself to have a very large appetite...

To help their passage go by more smoothly, Theo regaled the other two Junkers with a prompt he'd seen being advertised for quick Luxe:

"So - what brings you two to a place like this?" Theo started, and he barreled onward with his icebreaker. "What - cats got your tongues? Here: I'll start."

Theo gave them his Wrecker-to-Wrecker response, the likes of which he hadn't planned to discuss as per his agreements with Cosmiq.

"I -er, I chose to join Wrecking Crew because I had a vision, see, that, well, I was desperate and alone and on house arrest at the shelter and someone spoke to me from inside; a voice of courage and hope and experience. Sometimes a feeling washes over you that you've lived something unmistakable and incredible that you can't really know how you know something, but you do... Anyway, all these pieces in my life fit together in a... 'serendipitous' moment that told me my only option was to Wreck or to die."

"So here I am," Theo concluded, "and... that's a big Broiler up ahead."

Certainly enough, straight ahead in the distance was a large, armored Beta rig with twin flamethrowers for arms. It hadn't noticed them yet.

Theo jammed on the button to pop TerraBrad's cockpit hatch and had his rig pick up speed.

"Hold onto your butts!" Theo warned the two Junkers on the rig's roof, "I'm gonna take her in close for a cold-clocking stunner!"

While TerraBrad pounded down the flesh cave towards the imposing Beta Broiler, the cybernetic dog-boy reached to the side of his seat and withdrew his DPM Shotgun, loaded with a very special payload: his patent-pending Rigspike fletchette round. Theo primed the chamber, ducked his rig underneath the pluming jets of the Broiler's NSinR8Rs starting up, and let his shotgun rip at an exposed section in the Broiler's undercarriage.

The Beta Broiler froze under the sheer weight of the jamming power of Theo's Rigspike shot. The rig-mounted Wrecker could see the vague outline of the enemy pilot inside the Broiler's cockpit having a meltdown as they tried desperately to get their giant war machine back into gear.

Encounter:

Listen Along: Original Don (Flosstradamus Remix) - Major Lazer & The Partysquad

The barrage from the thunderous Greaser cannons struck all around Theo Reticule's position, connecting with the Wrecker who'd had the audacity to leave his rig's cockpit hatch opened and lighting him up with hellfire. Theo was nearly pulverized by the power of the kinetic blasts slamming him up against the back of his cockpit seat.

When the smoke had cleared and Theo had gotten himself and his rig somewhere safe from the Greasers' attacks, the injured Wrecker checked on his own vitals. Things looked grim: he had taken two direct hits to the chest, and from the look of HugBug, the Motile Biocover appeared to have taken the brunt of the damage as its final, life-affirming sacrifice. The mutant spiderman crumpled and slid off Theo's shorted-out armor and fell to the fleshy floor beneath Theo's Gamma Bounder, TerraBrad.

Theo looked at the small, smoking gift of processable biomatter sitting before him, eyed the Resource Acquisition Tooled Skimmer loaded onto his rig Terrabrad, and realized that he could make do with even so little material if he only played things smart. Feeding nibs of scrap into his processor's reloader hopper, Theo flipped on his Concordant Companion to assist him in maximizing the power extraction processes while using Magitek Mafia's own MM-RATS systems. He was going to have to use every last tool at his disposal.

As the final preparatory step, Theo loaded up a very special item and secured it into the mount planted in his forehead plate.

"Open The Gates!" Theo commanded in a resonant tone, and the Flare Lens attached to his Combat Suite II made the keening sounds of shining and shimmering sound effects.

The cyber-dog-man launched the rocketing Face Krew-attuned Assist Flare high in into the rank CYST air from his forehead cannon, and it exploded with light and sound.

The air suddenly smelled even more like sulfur than before, reeking of fire and brimstone. Theo revealed a fanged grin and welcomed it.

Listen Along: [Don't Fear] The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult

Theo Reticule's bright and burning Assist Flare arced in the dank winds of CYST's meat caverns, carrying along its light and its sound for quite some distance before fizzling out slowly in descent. A strange, eerily ominous presence filled the space around the Wreckers once the flare's light receded. The chill sensation suddenly passed, as though some faceless specter has flowed over them and blanketed them briefly in the cold numbness of death... and rebirth.

Nothing happened for a time, so the dog-boy Wrecker Theo Reticule began the process of closing his rig TerraBrad's hatch, and as he waited he checked on a spike in his local bioreadouts. He'd noticed that his Hoarding Horror 'Bah,' now a rather Torpid Horror, was rapidly heating up, completing the final stages of its metamorphosis.

"Attention, fellow Junk aficionados," Theo announced over the comms to both Opal Dang-Cobra and Acolyte, "wanna see some real junk? Behold: the miracle of Horror transformation!"

The rig-bound Theo tele-broadcast his roof rack's camera feed, which was pointed at the the Hoarding Horror's rapid changing progress. The monstrous Horror tyke was ripping and consuming its way out of its shed skin with ravenous bites.

"Good job, 'Bah'!" Theo cooed over the rig's loudspeaker. "My, Bah, you've gotten so big!"

"BAHAM!" The Ground Horror retorted, and then it continued to voraciously consume its sheddings while grumbling. "Baham..."

"You're just hangry, is all, 'Ba-HAM'!" Theo realized, considering the Horror's instinctive plight and picking up on the Horror's new self-given name. "We'll get you some real food soon. Until then, be nice to Opal and Acolyte, m'kay Baham?

Theo looked at his Horror's new bioreadouts and was mostly impressed with the results. The adolescent Ground-type Horror was hale and hearty with plenty of meat on its growing bones, but its scaly hide looked soft and sensitive to the touch. It needed more calcium, iron, and fiber in its diet to get some proper armor plating growing...

"We'll have to feed you something with a hard shell, so your scales can get nice and stiff. That sound good, Baham? Hold tight."

"Baaaaaaham!" the Horror agreed, and it smacked its lizard lips while grappling tight to the Gamma Bounder's roof rack with its claws.

"Alright, Ms. Dang-Cobra," Theo said over the comms, "now that Acolyte has a rig of her own it'll just be you and me - and Baham, of course! So spring on up onto TerraBrad's back again and we can get ourselves grooving onward!"

Movement: (Opal Dang-Cobra and Acolyte can peek)
> In his Pilot-boosted Gamma Bounder, Theo Drags Opal Dang-Cobra (and Ground Horror, if needed) three hexes total, hopefully ending their movement where Acolyte's Broiler stops (503 -> 603 -> 704 -> 705)!

Sponsors: Thankya muchlies for the incoming Biocover and HEALdrone, Magitek Mafia - that was a close call back there, so... I really should get myself to a safer spot before I can properly celebrate my cheating death!

Listen Along: Finally Moving - Pretty Lights

Once Opal Dang-Cobra had hopped herself onto the back the Gamma rig 'TerraBrad,' Theo Reticule placed his overclocked Bounder into high-speed passenger mode and let TerraBrad's internally-powered systems piston into gear. Both Opal Dang-Cobra and Theo's large pet, the Hoarding Horror 'Baham,' were holding on tight to some part of TerraBrad's roof and rear, while Theo piloted the rig along the grease marshes as gently as he could from inside the safety and comfort of his sealed cockpit.

After enough time riding through a relatively rhythmic silence on the Bounder, the dog-like Wrecker Theo spoke up to his passenger Opal over the comms to break the ice.

"So this might sound strange, yeah?" Theo began.

The dog-man Wrecker was grievously injured and jacked up with medical stabilizers, a fact that was plain only by the concentration in his speaking and the labor of his breathing.

"But I had a dream about you... er, rather I think it was you, at least, back when I was in the middle of training. Before all this."

Theo tried his best to put on a brave face for the attractive, popular, and feisty young woman. Theo could tell by a whiff of her perfumed scent alone that Opal Dang-Cobra was what some might call an 'alpha girl-dog,' and like his previous interactions with Bonny-Anne Elsewhere earlier in this map, Theo had proven to the viewers that he had a bit of a soft spot for tough and garrulous women.

"We hadn't met yet, but I remember it was a woman - either way, in this dream me and some lady-Wrecker were fighting the Zodiac together, and there hadn't been the Zodiac reveal yet so it was like this titan mixed with a hydra with heads of every hazardous element, and we fought it together for like, forever... it just didn't want to die!"

The dog-boy faltered in his recollection of the dream. It pained him to be so open with his innermost thoughts; so exposed.

"Then, when we'd nearly rekt it, the Zodiac transformed into a giant white rabbit that ran away from us in this sprawling field of green grass under a blue sky, and we got down on all fours and chased it down together, leaping on its back once it got tired and tearing out its throat in a glorious glut of carnage."

Theo paused for a moment, trying to remember how the dream ended.

"It was surprisingly... romantic."

Once he'd uttered these words, Theo noticed a couple blips on his sensors' radar screen and homed his rig in on their direction.

"Ah, perfect timing," Theo closed, "Gonna make a quick stop in a sec: our drugs are nearly here, plus a matching pair of HugBugs!"

Theo sucked in a breath between his teeth and braced himself for the act of introducing himself to yet another arachnoid biocover pet, which was a chilling prospect for the arachnophobic Wrecker. Thankfully, the restorative drugs from the HEALdrone would help him get through the experience with aplomb.

Movement: (Opal Dang-Cobra and Acolyte can peek)
> (Unchanged:) In his Pilot-boosted Gamma Bounder, Theo Drags Opal Dang-Cobra (and Ground Horror, if needed) three hexes total, hopefully ending their movement where Acolyte's Broiler stops (503 -> 603 -> 704 -> 705)!

Listen Along: Ducky Boy - Jurassic 5

In Theo Reticule's immediate path was a Purifier Transponder, blinking atop a rounded, fleshy hill. The dog-boy Wrecker snarled.

"You see that, Ms. Dang-Cobra?" Theo asked his rig's passenger over the comms. "Another flippin' Purifier Transponder. Let's get 'em!"

Theo adjusted his Gamma Bounder TerraBrad's pathing to bring his bouncing ride in close to the enemy faction's signal emitter. The Wrecker on TerraBrad's back, Opal Dang-Cobra, would get a terrific polo or jousting target if she climbed down to the rig's side with one of her giant melee weapons.

"I'm gonna swoop 'er in for a pass and let you take a crack at it." Theo announced. "So git'cher gunz ready!"

From the camera feeds on display in his rig's cockpit, Theo saw Opal Dang-Cobra select her Unbalanced K-Hammer from her gear and clamber down from TerraBrad's roof to hang off the side. Theo's Ground Horror, 'Baham,' who was also hanging onto TerraBrad's roof, eyed Opal's movements around the rig with glittery, hungry eyes.

Together Theo and his passengers passed the Purifier Transponder, and Theo heard the distinctive humming wind-up and swing of a K-Hammer, but didn't hear any of the lovely twanging of metal breaking and electronics shattering.

"Boned it!" Theo exclaimed in commiseration. "I'll take her in for another swing."

Theo looped TerraBrad around for another pass, but when he got close he saw that Opal's pet Purifier Torch, 'Groupie,' was hovering in the air doing something to the Purifier Transponder.

"Nope, can't have none of that." Theo uttered, and he veered TerraBrad in closer to the enemy flying object. "Who knows what that hacked Purifier pawn's up to?"

At Theo's behest, the Bounder TerraBrad began picking up speed.

"Here it comes: TerraBrad's own 'Wizard Kick', brought to you by runesmiths at Magitek Mafia!"

Theo's large Gamma Bounder took a mighty leap and stomped with both hard and heavy feet onto the floating Purifier Transponder, crushing it utterly against the ground below. Through no direct intention of Theo Reticule's, however, Opal's synthetic Groupie survived the attack by ducking out of the way at the last moment.

"Hah! Clever little thing." Theo commented, and he left it at that, mostly. "Ducky boy."

Listen Along: Friend of the Devil - Grateful Dead

With the Purifer Transponder totally smashed, Theo Reticule brought his rig to a complete halt so that both Opal Dang-Cobra and Theo's pet Horror 'Baham' could climb off and take a quick breather on the meaty floor.

"Stranj-o: Acolyte and her Broiler should have been here by now," Theo began, checking his scanners' readouts and the Wreckfeeds on his Gamma Bounder's console. "Looks like she got stopped by a solo Grimacing Horror some ways back... then blazed it."

The dog-boy Wrecker scratched the back of his fuzzy neck. He was imagining the smell.

"What this means is we've got some time to chill and kill. I'm gonna pump some meds into my meatstacks and root around with TerraBrad for some shiny greeblies for a bit, so don't mind me."

The Gamma Bounder dubbed 'TerraBrad' unfolded its shiny Magitek Mafia Resource Acquisition Tooled Skimmer from its compact travel-mode and started scooping up bits of shattered Transponder electronics.

"Baham," Theo started over the rig's speakers, and the Ground Horror sitting atop the rig suddenly perked up at its name. "I couldn't help but notice you had a little scuffle with Opal's Motile BioCover back there... No! Don't! Bad!"

It pained Theo to see the look of cowering shame on his pet Horror's anguished face. It had been caught doing some naughties!

"Now now, it'll be okay, Baham." Theo persuaded in a soothing tone. "Just hop off TerraBrad's back and look for something to eat for now. I'm sure you can dig something up..."

On his rig's roof cams, Theo watched his Horror slip down off of the rig and start sniffing the air and rooting around in the meaty ground, following its hunter's instincts.

"Sorry about that Opal." Theo said to the other Wrecker over the comms. "Baham's just a young, hungry Horror, and I think it'd like a taste of your armor, of all things!"

While his rig's MM-RATS cleaned the area of valuable scrap, Theo squared up his Combat Suite's Personal Wellness Network with a gelid infusion from the Restor8 he'd processed from the Unctuous Horror orgy so long ago...

"Ah, that's the stuff..." Theo sighed over the comms when the meds hit his system. "If I start to nod off a bit, say something, won't you Opal?"

Theo hummed to his music stream as he worked, making no concerted effort to hit the notes right.

Action:

> HorrorACT: If the Horror can't find anything local to sate its hunger, Theo orders Baham to Scan (range 2 due to Dig2/Steed?) for something to eat, including searching for a Quantum Pancreas or Meateor nervous tissue!

Sponsors: Okay, so what's next? Got any new Challenges, Magitek Mafia? I think right now my main goals are to feed an Aegisys and the MCAD to Baham... wouldn't that make for a sweet Horror-ride? Once the next Sponsor Stipend rolls up for you, we'll only be 10 Luxe shy of affording an Aegisys for my hungry, hangry Horror! Just... uh... don't forget to make an official Sponsor appearance on the show!

Listen Along: White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane

Responding to the drug intake from his Personal Wellness Network, Theo Reticule's music stream from his TuneZEN seamlessly switched to something a little more congruent with the state of his current thought processes. The tipsy Junker lost his balance in his seat momentarily and had his Gamma Bounder 'TerraBrad' stumble forward a couple steps before the doped-up dog-boy could catch himself.

"Woah! A'Lookin' a'little a'logy there, Theo," he muttered to himself with the comms on.

An errant click or cough or throat-clear over the comms announced the presence of both Acolyte and Opal Dang-fricken-Cobra on the line.

"Wha? Oh - uh - Opll? Acklite? Oh no, we gotta go fast, donn' we?"

In a semi-stupor, Theo Reticule sat up and futzed with his comms controls, stabbing at buttons inaccurately with his index fingers until he managed to get TerraBrad's bullhorns on.

"BAHAMNIT! I mean, Horror-friend, come. Come herrr. Come sit on momma-bird's head, pliezz Bahammmm..."

The snuffling Ground Horror got up from it's meatruffle hunting to clamber up onto TerraBrad's roof. Almost as a second thought, Theo addressed Opal Dang-Cobra over both the rig speakers and the comms line.

"O.D.Ceeeeeee! Come to me, lay-dee frenn. This rig'n ride is leaving the station: choot choot!"

The rig-mounted Junker waited for the attractive semi-celeb to climb back on his rig's deck, joining him and his horror-pal. Theo felt like, if he were this blasted in real life, what he was doing with a rig at the moment would be totes illegal. Most importantly, he was pretty sure no one had noticed - yet.

Nestled up in his office at the corporate campus headquarters, the Director of Sponsorship Affairs in Cosmiq's Wrecker Investments Division - Dr. Skipp Wiley Sr. - was jolted awake from a mid-sunset reverie by the sound of a bell ringing from just outside his office door.

[Ding - dong!] the chimes rang sonorously, in perfectly iconic synthetic tones.

"The hell was that? I don't have a doorbell..." Dr. Wiley raised his voice further to be heard by whoever was on the others side of the closed door. "It's locked!"

Dr. Wiley swung his legs off his console desk and set his sumptuous nutmeg gourdbrew down as he got to his feet to walk to the door.

"What do you want?" the Sponsor Director asked through the bolted door, holding a raised turyis racket he'd retrieved in his left hand.

"WRECK OR TREAT!" Came the muffled sound of children on the other side.

Dr. Wiley popped the latch and looked at the three miscreants through the consumer-augmented vision of his Saf-T-Tec iDoor. The three costumed children repeated themselves, holding up their treat satchels to the blinking red light on their side of the door.

"WRECK OR TREAT!" they clamored, clangorous as ever.

Once he saw the 'familiar' faces, Dr. Wiley settled. He popped the deadbolt and opened the door a crack, until the chain caught. The little people could see him now.

"Oho~! Well, if it isn't the three ghosts of Wreckmas past!" Dr. Wiley chortled. "Tomothy must had put you up to this."

The three kids dressed as Wreckers were all expectant smiles with their pails and sacks. A very small part of Dr. Wiley's heart melted. He thought of his own children, at home in domestic lockdown.

"Lemme just get something for you three..." the man managed, closing the door and retreating to his own personal effects to scramble loudly for anything that might constitute a treat.

When he returned, Dr. Wiley slid loose the catch for the reinforced chain and opened the door to present the three kids with gifts, as per the holiday's social compact.

"For the Face-Man. Now, don't spend these all at once." Dr. Wiley began, tucking a fistful of antique paper nic-stics bundled together by a rubber band into Mr.-Bean-But-He's-In-Space's pillow case. "These are rent-striker tokens. You keep 'em from breaking and you can trade 'em for favors from the... street-folk."

"Uh, okay- for you, Ra Maximum. My, you're looking healthy!" Dr. Wiley blundered on, fishing a small card from the crook of his elbow, "7,500 Brimstokens towards your first Cyber implant. With Cosmiq backing!"

The Cosmiq Director dropped the card in the hollow face-squash pail and turned to the third costumed child.

"Lastly, for you, my little gross one," Dr. Wiley said in an encouraging tone to the little girl in the RaaV costume, who was beside herself with excitement. "Who are you supposed to be?"

"I'm garbage!" the little Raav yelled.

"Right you are," Dr. Wiley chuckled, and he reached behind the door, hefting a large plasteen pod with Psichonumen's logo stamped on the side.

"Surprise! Your very own Horror!"

Dr. Wiley saw the look on the little girl's face behind the bargain bin Wrecker costume and he knew he'd made the right choice in not giving the cross-promotional corporate gift to Junior.

Listen Along: Amscray - Daedelus

As the custom black and gold-fringed Gamma Bounder TerraBrad rocketed down the meat-lined halls, the dog-like Wrecker Theo Reticule inside the cockpit regarded his main screen console display with a contented look on his face.

"That's my girl." Theo murmured to his rig's controls. "You do what I say, don't you?"

He was clearly still inebriated from the potent meds he'd injected partway through this trek.

"You want a little music? Sure you do..." Theo continued with a devilish grin. "A little banishment music?"

The Junker cranked up the spooky electro-lounge music that was blaring on his TuneZen music stream and he looked around the area with growing concern.

The Wrecker tapped the bioform display panel on his console and noticed the distinctive flicker of D-static on several figures approaching nearby.

Out of the blue, Theo suddenly resumed a conversation he had been having with his passenger Opal Dang-Cobra, as if they were still conducting it from several minutes prior.

"So, no - it's not like I'm stoned, per se, it's more like my P.W.N. does this whole 'thing' where it over-drugs me based on my dog-person genespread..."

"That said," Theo resumed, seeing his opening for a segue, "I do think I may have overshot the Luxe Crucible by a bit, and we have some spooky company coming our way."

The screeching wails of the Dank Nuggets pierced the acrid fog as the D-generated mutants drew near.

Listen Along: Horse with No Name - America

Upon seeing the small gang of D-generated Mutants fast approaching their way in the familiar D-Breaker stutterstep, Theo Reticule urged both his passenger and his pet to hop off his rig's back so he could pull off a little rig stunt without them getting hurt in the process.

"Ready? Iiiiiiit's - garbage day!" Theo yelled, and he slammed his Gamma Bounder Terrabrad's hull careening into a high wall of piled junk.

"What? No! Aieee-!" Theo cried mockingly, as the tower tipped over.

The huge pillar of precariously-balanced refuse, rock, and rebar spilled out over the sweat-slicked grounds below where the D-mutant enemies were hiding. The screaming Dank Nuggets scattered to the corners of the area to evade the considerable crap-collapse, while their leader the Dimension Keeper reacted too slowly - it was brained by an antique-style toilet carved from a giant tooth before it could teleport itself out of harm's way.

From what Theo could see in his scanners, Opal Dang-Cobra, her Purifier pal Groupie, and Theo's pet horror 'Baham' had all made quick work of the remaining three shadow Nuggets, or at least they would have had the one Opal swung her K-Hammer at hadn't D-shifted out of the weapon's path at the very last moment. Oh well - one more small detail for them to be worried about, and another point of data for Opal's Optiscope. At the very least, their ally Acolyte was on her way from the Luxe Crucible in her Broiler to meet up with them shortly! As it turned out, none of the three Junkers were really in the mood for Luxe-banking...

"I think I'm gonna futz with my Combat Suite a sec... got an eRAW interlace on the fritz." Theo chatted to the other two Junkers on the comms line, to neither one of them in particular.

Suddenly, Theo snapped up from his wiring work to yell at his hungry horror critter over his rig's external audio speakers.

"Oh no - - Baham? Baham! Over here - no, no, you don't want that horrid thing, Baham. Come over here! You eat this - here."

With his rig's bipedal chicken-walker legs, Theo had TerraBrad dig and scratch at the heavy wreckage with its large feet, to uncover the goopy body of the freshly-expired Dimension Keeper below.

"This - this is what you want, isn't it? A meaty-metaverse-maker, right? All to yourself." Theo asked the illiterate beast, encouraging it to chow down on the funky foodstuff.

Action:
> FullACT.Theo: Theo repairs his Combat Suite's eRAW Interlace, removing 1 Break token (DR: 1 -> 2)!
> HorrorACT: Theo orders Baham to Cannibalize the Dimension Keeper for +1 HP healed (full HP), +1 Buff token, and +? Warp tokens! If Baham would greatly prefer the standard MBC's corpse as its meal it is welcome to change its course to that.

Sponsors: Okay, so, Magitek Mafia - a little dragon-keeping: my very next step is to feed Baham the Aegisys off of ODC's back, and then to immediately have you buy her a replacement! That'll protect Baham's innards from any D-generation resulting from eating this guy over here, right? Then, once that's done, we feed Baham the MCAD or the Sarcophagous Horror? Or both!? Whatever works! What a big project this little fellow with the shifting name has turned out to be! I do hope it all pays off in the end!

Listen Along: Truckin' - The Grateful Dead

Instead of listening to its master's requests, the Ground Horror belonging to the Junker Theo Reticule ran off with the Dank Nugget's bubbling corpse-mass firmly clasped in its jaws. The Ground Horror - named 'Baham' in its juvenile stage - burrowed a couple meters beneath the meaty turf in order to chow down on the dead meta-nug's body, fully hidden from view as its instincts would have it.

"Oh, Baham~!" Theo exasperatedly scolded the pet Horror over his rig TerraBrad's loudspeakers. "That thing's junk food! C'mere already! Man..."

Theo knew deep down that his bull-headed Horror was both young and foolish, with inexperienced tastes - it still needed to learn the difference between quality meatstuffs and D-puréed biomatter. Nonetheless, it couldn't be blamed for eating what it had killed all on its own. Eventually, the Wrecker stopped yelling for the creature to come to his side and resumed working on fixing his armor's fried eRAW interlace.

By the time Theo was finished with his repair work, Acolyte had arrived at the scene in her Beta Broiler rig.

"There: all done - and there: all set!" Theo said over the comms. "Welcome to the not-Luxe-Crucible, Acolyte... uh, are you ready to get moving?"

Theo didn't want to admit it to his co-Wreckers, but he had had a choice to make. The Rigjacker Cyka was busy fighting the titanic Sarcophagous Horror somewhere within his Bounder's charging range, Bonny-Anne Elsewhere had gone missing somewhere nearby and had lost both her Horror pet and her Gamma rig to a bad patch of mutants and was currently having a standoff on foot, and - worst of all - Opal Dang-Cobra was expecting a ride to wherever Acolyte was going!

As though on cue, Baham reappeared on the surface - it's belly slightly bloated and its claws and maw drenched in a shimmering purple pudding. It climbed back up onto TerraBrad's back and growled in apologetic grumbles of satisfaction.

"There, Baham - feel better? Now - really - where to?" Theo asked over both the comms and the rig-amps, then started laughing.

Theo knew the question was rhetorical. Where they were supposed to be going was the same place he'd been going to all this time, before he'd parted ways with Lonan Murderbirb and Dunk Tuggum's corpse by the Luxe Crucible, only to veer off course to take on Calorie Court's fallen clown mascot...

"Truckin..." Theo the dog-man mused to himself, in a semi-drugged trance haze. "You've got to play your hand. Sometimes your cards ain't worth a dime - if you don't lay 'em down."

Theo activated his Spinal Array to help him with some heuristics processing and had a moment of vertigo when he was momentarily blinded by the raw amount of data being processed all at once across his console and suit interfaces. The shining, flashy visuals were so bright and moving so fast, at times he could barely see.

Finally, Theo had an answer and his processors' visual interface cleared out to a simple answer. It was official: he had a place to go. What a long, strange trip this had been.

So, Magitek Mafia, as you probably know: as soon as we can afford it I'd like to set up Baham with a suit of armor to eat... I'm sure we can work something out! That means you might need to make a short appearance on the Wrecking Crew program sometime soon, though!

"Hold on." said Dr. Skipp Wiley Sr. to the other person on the comms line, just about as soon as they'd picked up the connection.

The Director of Sponsorship Affairs at Cosmiq Pharmaware's Wrecker Investments Division muted his mic so he could shoot out a gutteral belch from above and release a foul expulsion of gas from below that reminded him of last night's Asian-fusion takeout. He adjusted his NeiROW PrimSpecs and blew his nose into a sani-wipe which he wadded up into a ball and launched at a distant wastebin, which he missed by more than a meter. He un-muted his mic shortly after faux-cursing at the result.

"Frappucino!" He swore, then he tapped the implanted switch by his jugular. "Sorry, so: what was that? The TonTeenz show is doing well? Well color me blue because I swear I can't a-commie-date such a sentiment!"

Dr. Wiley knew the best way to get past the social impact of a terrible pun was to barrel on as though nothing had happened, so he did so:

"No, seriously though, this ProTeen that the bugman recruited was such a big factor in this latest season of Wrecking Crew, I can't relay that to you enough." Dr. Wiley admitted, dropping juicy trade secrets. "When the ProTeen got splatted by the Purifiers, CYST took a major TrendHit, I can't even tell you by how much."

"Thank Mam'n kids gorramn love dogmutants and Horrors." the Wrecking Crew sponsor veteran confessed. "When I first saw Theo on my doorstep, I immediately saw a, a fricken' action figure mint in the box with laser eyes and judo action and whatnot."

"Speaking of..." Dr. Wiley seamlessly transitioned, while raising a glass of fizzy intoxicants to his nostrils, "how can I check on the balance owed to my account from Theo's, er, 'signing bonus' to your company? His likeness is... well, yes, that's correct."

"No, no immediate relation, aside from demi-genetic." Dr. Wiley stated, in answer to a pertinent legal question. "Correct."

"Listen, I'm going to turn on some music while you go through your questions, I hope you don't mind." Dr. Wiley prepared the other person on the comms with him.

He needed to be relaxed while he dealt with Johnny Lawman, as was his legal right. Dr. Wiley considered lighting up one of his leftover nicostics, but he knew that the rustic phosphorus match he had to light them would be heard being activated over the comms. Rather than risking such a discovery or muting his mic again, Dr. Wiley hit the button for a silent smoke-drone to appear in at his office in the nearest possible future.

Listen Along: Goodbye Stranger - Supertramp

Just scant moments before reaching the Fabric8r, the dog-like Wrecker Theo Reticule released the hatch seals on his Gamma Bounder's cockpit. The man-canine smelled something - or someone - on the bowel-scented airs coursing through the winds of CYST, and he felt that he needed to get a better sample. Some kind of mutant clown in a rig, it was - it smelled like rubber cement, balloons, and burnt airplane glue - something reminiscent of a Wrecker he'd once encountered secondhand before. Typical stuff, really - but he had to let it go - he had to be moving on.

Theo thought of forgotten kings without castles, of queens without thrones, of jesters and jokers without courts, of moving on heedless of the warnings of the times. There was a peace in seeing the world so simply in matters of archaeo-Jungian archetypes, Theo knew, but Theo also understood that in his life experiences were far more complicated than all that mumbo-jumbo. Theo believed in his senses, but he had to try things out in his own way - he was stubborn like that. Novelty was tied to youth - it was a goal to be shiny and brand new at all times - unbridled, unanchored, unrestricted by ones material surroundings. Theo strived to be like that: fully free from a reality that constantly threatened his life from all directions.

Theo listened to the inspirational tones of his TuneZEN music stream, totally blissed out on the harmonic melodies within. His troubles simply melted away under the sonic sweetness.

"Goodbye Stranger," Theo murmured with the music, "it's been nice, hope you find your paradise. Try to see your point of view, hope your dreams will all come true."

Theo said all this as his Gamma Bounder 'TerraBrad' slowed down in its approach to the Fabric8r.

"Will we ever meet again? Feel no sorrow, feel no shame, come tomorrow, feel no pain." Theo muttered, in sync with the TuneZEN.

Despite the fact that their destination was right before them, Theo sought continuous motion, without shame - the speed of this overclocked Gamma Bounder he'd jacked was really, truly getting to him.

As they neared their destination, Theo finally had his Gamma Bounder start a greasy skid into a full stop beside the Fabric8r, squelching an errant Unctuous Horror underfoot.

"Oh, Acolyte?" Theo started over the comms. "Sorry - did you get held up? We're here. Um... I think Vatman Jones is still in the area!"

Encounter:
> FreeENC.Rig: Theo pops his Gamma Bounder's hatch! - Yeah, that's right! My Horror can beat up your dad-Horrors, you slimy freaks!

Listen Along: Highs 2 Lows - Nujabes feat. Cise Starr

The Bounder-mounted Junker Theo Reticule had finally made it to the Fabric8r, where he could restock his suit's supplies with some help from his RigSpike program MuttHaXch. He zoned out, working while lo-fi hip hop streamed straight from his TuneZEN.

Highs 2 Lows - Nujabes feat. Cise Starr posted:

Individual stars float in the ocean of God
Rocking a pinky ring of Saturn while I'm visiting Mars
Egos bigger than Jupiter are breaking the bars
Holding me back down to Earth, through physical laws
Touching the moon, grace as I ready resume
Comets flying through space bringing possible doom
Blocking the sun, bringing holocaust to the world
I'm talking back to Father Time, Mother Earth is my girl
I got the wings of angels walking down the valley of death
Watching my step 'cuz the Devil's never one to respect
Come correct on the studio track, taking it back
To the pen and pad, I blast the original rap
Brother on the B-Boy tip, with Krylon spit
I tag the charts with the graphical hits
So who you loving with? Arm, leg, leg-to-arm, head.
Snapping your neck back while you spit out a Pez
I be the original son of a bitch, hurtin' your wrist
'Cuz you're spinning my poo poo so much the needle skipped
Flip to the rhythm and reminisce,
Remember the days of '9(nine)-4(four), hip-hop was a gift (OK)
Words out of her lips came straight from the heart
Never prepackaged or bought, rote negative thought
Peddled to consumers, magazines and rumors
Commercial spots turn real artists to clueless
Precise rap, rock and roll, nigga lets do this
I'll float through notes, break beats with my maneuvers

Yo regardless, while I be moving swiftly through darkness
Plotting, charting my path, I'm running, cutting my losses
Stumbling over unknown bumps and complications
And tribulations, in my life of revelations[x2]

Speaking to Scorpius making my heart turn to porcelain
It used to have a steady beat, now it's easily broken
Mind coasting, train of thoughts stopped emotions
Welling at the core of my being, causing commotion
Need to release, 'cuz the stress is tearing me to pieces
My love ceases, and my thoughts break into leases
The height of my life, but the strife making me leave this
I can't beat this, going to God to defeat this
Will He help, or do I have to do this myself?
Alone and confused, the blues burden my health
My eyes remain closed, 'cuz my Highs are Lows
I'm feeling the blows of rain 'cuz my pain is cold
Now who am I, a man or a pawn of life?
Living day to day, I pray am I wrong or right?
Losing my mind so maybe you can help me find
The way to go, so I can be leaving this pain behind
Trying to sleep, 'sleep is the cousin of death'
Said a wise man from Queensbridge, on beats he blessed
Trying to rest, instead I rest my head
On a pillow of hardships, misery is the bed
On my back I lie, I can see the skies
Through a glass ceiling, the reason tears drowning my eyes
And I can't move, grief won't let me think
My soul is dry, I crawl just to take a drink
I made you blink, think like a visible man
With mechanical hands trying to reach out to my fans

Yo regardless, while I be moving swiftly through darkness
Plotting, charting my path, I'm running, cutting my losses
Stumbling over unknown bumps and complications
And tribulations, in my life of revelations[x2]

Yo, viscosity of the hidden meaning between my words
Thicken the plot - I got hidden rhythms and verse
I'm loading the hearse, you bitin' like a Dracula curse
And bringing the worst to hurt, like a sermon in church
Pertaining to you, hurts just to listen to truth
So you'd rather listen to lies, so you're living to lose
I'm beginning to win, young man, master descend
Battle affair, looking at the Devil and grin
I'm flipping the script, walking on the journey and trip
On the gurney and missed at the fact that life is a bitch
And I'm hating the poo poo, losing blood, making me Crip
With stakes this high, bet and I lost the grip
Searching for bliss, with the razor over my wrist
Needing a job, but the drug test's checking my piss
I'm looking through a window and seeing immaculate conception reborn
Piercing my core with seven swords, a knight in the war
Looking to the eyes of the Lord, calculating what more
Seeing the signs of heaven nevermore
The last matador riding a pale horse, losing my course
Splitting the hairs causing divorce
Marriage unborn, I havoc in song, I stumbled upon
Lost jewels, I thought thoughts would be gone
Lost forever, I sever motherfuckers with letters
Written in script, forward to the rap that I rip
From the top of the lip, make a drink, taking a sip
Then I'm gulping the poo poo, falling deeper
In the abyss...

"Ah~" Theo sighed with refreshment, right after sipping deep from the stimulating nutrient liquid being pumped into his suit's life support systems by the Fabric8r. It tasted like his favorite flavor of LMN8d iTea.

Though he knew he was currently in the calm in the eye of the metaphorical monster-storm with his rig's hatch popped, Theo found that he could in fact find a way to relax: hacking public utilities.

Listen Along: X Gon' Give It To Ya - DMX

The bulldog-like Junker Theo Reticule barked and pumped a fist in the air when he saw an Assist Flare pop into the Fabric8r's output hopper with a sweet-sounding *ker-chunk* along with some air canisters. The rig-mounted Wrecker hadn't paid any attention to the undulating peristaltic waves growing in the Meateror's fleshy walls, but he should have.

"Y'all don't get it twisted," Theo began, "I gotsta thank every last gift from Wrecking Crew LTD's producers as though they were given to me by the Magitek Mafiosos themselves!"

"So thanks y'all, cuz hell yea, guys!" Theo exulted, "Now that's what I'm talking about."

Theo grasped the Assist Flare's handle and held the precious expendable up to his Combat Suite's attached Flare Lens.

"See that, boyos? That's prime time, Krewmatez - real talk." Theo talked large, largely to himself. "There's a new delivery service in town!"

The shifting intestinal walls of the meateor's interior brought Theo's rig 'TerraBrad' into a roll. Theo tucked tight inside his cockpit and braced himself.

"Knock knock open up the door it's real, with the non-stop pop-pop of stainless steel!" Theo recanted, along with his music.

Theo was going hard, getting busy with it while the pumping meat walls shoved his Gamma Bounder further along the intestinal hallways.

"drat right and I'd do it again..." Theo chanted, as though in a mantra. "Cuz I am right so I gotsta win."

After a short while of bio-powered squeezing from all sides, Theo found himself and his Gamma Bounder to be in a completely different place in the Meateor, squaring off with a mangle of meaty mutants including the newest star of the show, the MCAD Manslayer.

Once he saw the Manslayer and its legendary weapon, Theo was down like someone had just said "Freeze!" with a policeman's authoritative tone.

"Bitch please." Theo chuffed when he locked eyes with the Manslayer squaring onto Acolyte's position with the MCAD particle rifle.

"Stay out my way, mother-bitcher," Theo cursed. "First we gonna rock, then we gonna roll. Then we let it pop; don't let it go!"

Theo locked onto the Manslayer and jammed his Gamma Bounder TerraBrad into full charge mode, letting go of the rig's controls in the process.

All was going according to plan™.

Movement: (Acolyte, Opal Dang-Cobra, and Vatman Jones can peek)
Note to GM: Please let me know what kinds of enemy-tracking movement methods are possible and I will edit to that (presented in order of desire):
1) Theo 'Jump Loops' back to the same hex (808) for +4 Momentum if the MCAD Manslayer stays put, and Hunts the MCAD Manslayer for maximum Momentum (up to +4up) if it moves!
2) Theo Hunts the MCAD Manslayer in his 4 Jump Mov Gamma Bounder by Jumping NE 1 hex from 808 to 709 and then Pursuing the MCAD Manslayer from there!
3) Theo Hunts the MCAD Manslayer in his 4 Jump Mov Gamma Bounder (whatever that entails) preferring to make a Charge attack so the MCAD Manslayer cannot Evade in ENC!
4) Theo takes the same Movement orders as the MCAD Manslayer (including Aim, if allowed, if no Movement taken)!

Sponsors: Whamma-lamma ding-dong, this is getting all kinds of gnarly-bad over here! Uhmm... my hatch is still popped, Magitek Mafia, and there are like some twenty-odd guys out there that could all be coming at me in the near future! Listen Along: That Old Pair of Jeans - Fatboy Slim

All was going according to plan™ for Theo Reticule and his semi-scattered team, up until the moment it suddenly very much so wasn't.

The MCAD Manslayer nimbly leapt out of the path of Theo's charging Gamma Bounder and it scrambled behind the Air2Air station to seek a higher vantage point from which to shoot at Acolyte with its Locked-On Experimental particle rifle. Try as he might, Theo just couldn't get an angle on the Mutant Manslayer with his Bounder's weapons without damaging the explosive landmark. Worse yet, Theo's scans were showing a gathering of Ribbon Skates and a pair of fiendish mutants stalking closer.

"Aw, nurts, I can't flippin' get 'em! ACOLYTE - INCOMING!" Theo warned over the comms to the Wrecker positioned downrange, sitting duck in a Beta Broiler.

The loyal dog-Wrecker knew that he'd messed up in not managing to slam the Manslayer flat when he'd had the chance. Still, he wasn't totally without offensive resources here...

"Baham my lovely! Go!" Theo cried out, "We gots a lot of baddies incoming, so grab onto something that'll help!"

The Ground Horror named Baham yelled its own name as it leapt off Theo's rig roof, its belly thumping to the meaty turf below as it wriggled towards the enemy. It scrabbled with its meat-digging claws at some buried cables connected to the Air2Air station and pulled. Baham managed to expose a set of leaky conduits, which began to overload with crackling electricity...

"No, Baham, get away from that - you'll hurt yourself!" Theo yelled at his cheeky pet, jamming on his Gamma Bounder's controls to make 'TerraBrad' leap in the way of the shocking lightning bolts from the exposed conduits.

Crackling lightning rippled through TerraBrad and Theo seized up in the seat of his opened cockpit, his teeth chattering from the intense voltage coursing through his body.

Theo smelled toast building up in his Spinal Array and he knew that both TerraBrad and his personal cyber peripherals were temporarily sunk.

"Sh-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-vVvVvV-!" Theo jabbered, as he punched a jittering fist at the Assist Flare hanging at the loop on his belt.

With trembling hands, Theo affixed the Assist Flare into the receptacle on his forehead-mounted flare cannon and let her rip.

"Face Krew!" Theo called between spasms, his fanged teeth gritted, "You're our only hope!"

Encounter:
> Rig.ENC: Hatch Status: still popped!
> Theo.ENC: Charge Attack (+1up Gunner, +1up Momentum, +2up Buff) vs MCAD Manslayer: 1d12 2 - Miss - oh no, sorry Acolyte! Theo loses 2 Buff after ENC.
> Feature.ENC: Air2Air2Fire: 1d4 1 - Theo's Charge attack doesn't blow the Air2Air!
> Horror.ENC: Go, Baham! Baham Improvises!: 1d6 6 - Exposed Conduits! +Disable1 to all non-synth targets in hex! +Disable5 to Theo's Gamma Bounder (taking place after its Charge)! Theo's Bounder is fully Disabled and must be restarted with a Mount ACT! Since Exposed Conduits are not an Attack, Ground Horror does not chance blowing the Air2Air and gets to keep its 1 Buff token!
> Free.ANY: Theo launches a Flare Lens-modified Assist Flare in ENC! IF Face Krew has enough firepower to kill the MCAD Manhunter, please prioritize them. Otherwise focus on the Filet-O-Mind or do an AoE, please! A backflip would also be acceptable.
> MBC.ENC: Wedge the MBC is ordered to prioritize blocking lethal hits against Theo and Baham (in that order), otherwise block a hit from the Air2Air exploding on Theo or Baham (in that order), or else a Ribbon Skate hit against Theo.

Sponsors: Seasons come and seasons go, and so, too, does my luck with killing things, or so it would seem! Thanks for those supplies and the primo BeanzDrone you sent me! I think my own personal luck might hold out just yet - it's Acolyte we need to be worried about here! I don't like the look of that MCAD Manslayer anyway, not one bit...

Listen Along: Who Loves the Sun - Nu & Jo Ke

The dog-faced Wrecker mounted to the burning, sparking Gamma Bounder suddenly came to the vertigo of consciousness while listening to his heart thumping hard in his ringing ears. At first, part of him thought it was time to dance.

"Who loves the sun..." he murmured faintly in a daze, shuffling around in his Bounder's cockpit. "Who cares that it is shining?"

Theo Reticule's spacer suit was on fire, he was struggling to stay alert and coherent, and he was futzing around with his rig's controls, to no avail. Nothing in the cockpit's dashboard was working, and the Junker couldn't fathom why. Some his internal organs seemed to be heavily damaged, and his nose was bleeding from some kind of cranial trauma. A rupture, it felt like, had opened up inside his brain somehow, and then he had passed out? Time was a strange concept for Theo at the moment. He couldn't even piece together what had just transpired mere seconds ago...

"Yeah..." he drawled, and he smacked his bloodied lips.

The wounded and disoriented Wrecker parked right next to the Air2Air's pluming firestorm lolled his head to the side to regard a bleeping alert on his suit's display. Concordant - - so friendly.

"Oh, you're hungry..." Theo muttered, and he went through the motions of plugging in the Sanigel feed up to his suit's med relay and setting on his Personal Wellness Network into full restorative mode.

The doglike Wrecker's Medi-fluid intake increased and began to pump powerful numbing sedatives into the areas of Theo's body that most urgently required his spacer suit's medical attention.

"This is fine." Theo declared at last, staring ahead and bobbing his head to the beat that had suddenly swelled over his TuneZEN.

He was so blissed out on the meds being mainlined into his system that he didn't mind that his suit was still overheating considerably from the flames currently wreathed around him and his Gamma rig.
