You got the gravel bike where the trail is and the trail bike where the gravel is.

I was taking the fire road to a trail while on the MTB and taking a fire road from a trail on the gravel bike :ssh:

Rode outside for the first time in like a week (poor air quality, poor motivation). Didn't die.

Smoke cleared out nicely by yesterday, felt like a great early fall ride

Then this morning, more foggy but still pretty great

Hoping the smoke doesn't come back this weekend but winds are shifting and it might :(

Doesn't the time change mean the mornings get light sooner? Ie. easy dawn patrol days once again

Not for my schedule. I need to be out the door by 6-6:30, and 6:30 will be about the time the sun is coming up, so I'll be riding with the dawn but only just starting out and my preferred "dawn patrol" is to be able to get somewhere neat to see the sun rise.

So...honestly better for actually riding some stuff (not gonna be setting any downhill PRs in the dark) but not gonna be able to get up to the top of the mountain in time to see the sun rise.

How do you like that frame? How's the weight/performance on it?

I'm vaguely considering building up a lightweight aluminum road bike for like hill climb poo poo or something, dunno what I'd do for a frame though

I really like the look of bead-blasted Ti and, because of the lack of markings, I thought it might have been an affordable option for that.

I was wrong.

lol yeah

I didn't want to spend even more for anodized stuff but didn't really like the sticker look so just had them leave that all off

I am not the most bike frame material smarty pants guy but the only stainless steel I've heard of being used for frames is generally expensive as hell compared to regular steel because it's harder to work with

Maybe there's like cheap stainless stuff out there but I dunno

I want a new computer mount solution though...might just go back to one that sits barely out front of the stem but I think that'll tap on the cables
Might have to drop the bars down a 5mm spacer to fit on a kedge that puts the mount more directly over the stem but dunno how that will feel

Good news: new tires installed. Bad news: needed tubes, which are still in there.

Apparently WTB road rims suck so hard that the local shop won't set them up tubeless anymore.

Gravel kings are the only tires I’ve really had issues setting up tubeless and having to do the tube trick etc
