None of the winners make sense but Corbin would be the best cause Reigns squashing him would be a big baby face move (Big E should not face Roman till you've built him up win the title so of course he's going to win and lose)

Gonna be even more ghoulish when we see months added onto the contract of talent that stayed home cause of Covid

While I don't want Jeff in AEW either him being forced to stay 8 months in a company that just used his addiction as an angle is very much on the side of not being healthy/leading to a relapse. And any time a company screws over talent you stand with the worker even if you don't like them (unless said talent is a Dream/Riddle level scumbag but hey WWE is perfectly fine with standing by them for REASONS)

Given that this decree came down during the pandemic with Indies and global travel still mostly shuttered I could see talent being angry but relenting

Edit: And 100% they did this decree now knowing that it'd be easier for them to push it through now than if talent had more options to go elsewhere

Between this and the "Indy" bloom of NXT falling apart I really don't see anyone wanting to sign or stay signed with WWE except the lifers or unless they offer like big million dollar deals and whelp the release of Gallows and Anderson shows what WWE really thinks of those

I've seen some clauses in Work For Hire/Independent Contractor contracts state that work done while under contract is the property of the company but out right owning the names is huge overreach and probably would not stand up to any sort of court challenge

If they were concerned about spoilers/company info you would just do a statement saying not to say company info online or else you'd be fined. This is 100% controlling talent and trying to squeeze more money from them

it'd be amazing if they caved on this and moved NXT to Tuesday as it'd be the biggest capitulations the company has done in years. And if they don't it could end up even worse for the company

It'd be just as horrible but they probably would have less of a talent revolt if they tried to this with stuff where the wrestler is in character and not touched the Twitch and game streams. But by going for those too they just really screwed themselves and probably won't 100% feel it until contracts start to expire

Even during the start of the Covid I didn't think we could get a full 64 bracket of scummy things that WWE would do this year and whelp being proven wrong weekly now

SatoshiMiwa

We still had a Saudi Blood money show this year and we also still have one on the books (though it probably won't happen...though if it does......................) it;'s just that show feels like a screw up that happened a lifetime ago

Was wondering if it could be worse for KUSHIDA in the WWE and yeah, it could be. He could be a Ninja with Tozawa

That 1 million AEW rating locks NXT on Wed night doesn't it?

Vince seeing Kansas City (foolishly) havign 15,000 people in stadium is going to lead to WWE doing some sorta of stadium show with a large crowd before the end of the year

shiksa posted:

what loving company in their right mind would poison their "future" talent against them by deciding on a whim that a pandemic means a promotion means nothing materially for them. and yeah, having these guys performing on what they know are peanuts contracts compared to the guys who have been there for awhile. how the gently caress is that lockerroom doing?

Don't worry I'm sure everyone in the lockeroom on the main roster that isn't Randy Orton/other main eventer will soon be offered similar deals or get shown the door as well!

Roman Reigns didn't beat his shameful back he just cursed it to the rest of the roster

Slapjack better feud with T-bone over the letter T to really drive home that authentic 2000's Nitro feel

Slapjack, T-Bar and Mace are so uncontrollable they easily agreed to WWE's current social media demands. That means you can book them for Cameo and Zoom birthday parties in the near future!
