Even if he is, they can just say basically Deathwatch is Orthadox and whatever tribe/creed Boba belongs to is Reform.

The "helmet stays on" stricture isn't a thing with the Mandos in TCW or Rebels either.

Also Mando's set like 30 years after Mandalore got the poo poo kicked out of it by the Empire and its people scattered to the galactic winds. That hadn't happened yet in Clone Wars and still relatively fresh by the time of Rebels. So I'm guessing the "don't take the helmet off" thing is relatively recent development and in response to the whole Mandalorian diaspora thing.

Well, the good news is that the same one guy is in charge of all three shows, so there's probably going to be a consistent through line between them once we get to the point of exploring it in depth.

Also, according to The Way, when you take the helmet off, you're dead. As far as the rest of the Galaxy knows, Boba Fett is dead, so if there's one Mando out there who's earned the right to ditch the helmet, it's him. Also the implication seems to be that he's going to hunt Din down and take his armor back, so maybe he didn't take the helmet off willingly and is looking to fix that? We'll see.

I really think the melding of Western with high fantasy dragon slaying took this episode above and beyond.

I’ll echo the sentiment that I was just smiling ear to ear for the entire episode and was genuinely captivated in a way that none of the Disney trilogy even approached.

So, what awful white male grognard is gonna be the first one to light themselves on fire about SJWs pandering to... deaf people? Because it's gonna happen, just watch. Some chud somewhere is gonna get mad about it.

Beyond that, that's a really cool way of helping integrate something like that into the universe.

Its weird how many people think that Boba just lost his armor. Am I the only one who thinks he abandoned it on purpose?

That's my take on it too. Dude managed to escape the Sarlac, was beat the gently caress up beyond all reasonable measure and probably decided "Eh, maybe it's a good time for 'Boba Fett' to just die.", sold the armor to the Jawas and just decided to live simpler life as a local scavenger on Tattooine. But then this new Mandalorian guy shows up and just starts dropping bounty hunters left and right. Then, a few months later... he comes back. He blows up a Kyrat Dragon and then walks away hauling off Boba's old armor. Now that's attention grabbing. That might be something worth resurrecting 'Boba Fett' for...

Dash Rendar has in fact already been re-canonized. Thanks to Disney’s mandate of “everything published by us is the new canon”, some tie-in book for Solo has a note written to Han from Dash where he’s his typical shithead self.

There's nothing political at all about telling Nazis to gently caress off; its a litmus test for whether or not you're a decent human being. Pedro passes with flying colours, Gina Carraro bombed it spectacularly.

Then again, I'm also glad that Duel of the Fates got thrown in the industrial metal shredder because while it was the better movie between it and Rise of Skywalker, Star Wars fans deserved the Rise of Skywalker for the tantrum they threw over their stupid space wizard story somehow betraying them and scaring them for life.

Oh, and The Expanse. And plenty of other books, movies, games, etc. that it'd take way too much time to list.

If Disney decides tomorrow to poo poo-can The Mandalorian and remove all SW content because Gina Carano said CHUDy things on Twitter...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMlihrez2po

Thankfully, and I say that with a caveat the size of Saturn, Disney has a pretty decent track record of cauterizing things cleanly in-house when individual actors out themselves as lovely chuds these days. See that lady they hired to voice Leia in Resistance turning out to be a complete rear end in a top hat and was then fired and replaced wiht a new actor at warp speed.

Gina Carano is slightly messier because Mano Season 2 was already in the can when she ripped the mask off on Twitter, but I have a strong suspicion that if she survives Season 2 in tact, then Cara Dune is gonna get killed off very quickly into Season 3 or there will be a "Cara Dune died on the way back to her home planet" scene so they don't even have to bring Carano back to film anything.
