They haven't been fans of any CDPR games, Witcher 3 is the only one they gave any time to and even then very little. Witcher 2 they outright ignored so them not being fans? Not a surprise and not really an issue.

I think that whether or not GiantBomb liked previous CDPR games, they have enough accumulated experience to know whether or not 'game work' and everyone can probably hold off on running to find excuses to dismiss their opinions out of hand.

Ebgames finally charged me for PC CE Cyberpunk 2077 so I went and cancelled the Ps4 CE one I had as backup in case Eb couldn't deliver.

The PS4 one will likely pop up at some point, probably on launch day. So happy could get that PC CE version.

Version 1.02

Various Stability improvements

Various performance improvements

Critical progression and gameplay issues addressed

Total game size in storage shows as 102 GB

Edit: GOG PC version just received 28MB update (yes, MB not GB)

I fully expect to see the number drop, again mid/high 70's to somewhere in the 80's is going to be my guess where it ends up with critics.

The player rating is going to be a total poo poo show.

I don't remember if there were any patches for two and three when they released or not but I played them just fine. Never saw any bugs. Never had any issues.

Later CDPR did make changes that helped some issues people had but I was never one of those people. I played the games and loved them as they were.

The original Witcher I could not play for some months because my laptop at the time was incapable of handling it, by that time I could play it I assume it had patches.

I meant Witcher 3, should have been more precise. But I remember stories about how bad the horse control used to be and how Roach could spawn in random places.

I bought Witcher after the first big QoL patch so I never really remember any big bug except I had two instances of health potion instead of just one.

It wasn't until I had beaten the game and started to look at the witcher threads that I saw the pictures and vids with Roach, I laughed my rear end off. I was actually a bit annoyed that I never saw anything of the sort in my game. It was so funny, I don't think it was that common but people definitely talked about it enough that it became a meme for years after.

When I get around to buying cyberpunk in a month I'll just pick default female and be done with it.

A lot of games these days allow you to pick your gender and customize it. Not all but a very good portion of famous titles even make it possible. I've played as men in some and women in others, why? For kicks. To have fun. No real reason beyond that, to me that was part of the charm for said games, to be whatever you be and go wild if you wanted.

Isn't this a future hellscape nightmare where we ruined the Earth and organize in small areas dominated by massive supercities? Isn't it probably true that as a society we didn't master gender relations and sexual issues?

From what I gathered there are two aspects when it comes to gender and sexuality in the timeline of Cyberpunk 2077.

1. You can be whatever you want to be. Want to be a man? Done. Want to be a woman? Done. Want to be both? Done. It's not a big deal anymore, you are free to be as you wish, to be who you always felt you were. Thanks to much more pressing issues, y'know every day survival in some case, between war and nukes being dropped with everything being turned upside down and shaken for its all worth makes people look at what really matters and and by this time most got bigger worries and concerns than what your packing between the legs or who you love. People changing body parts for robotic parts in a turn about way likely helped, when the average joe is able to alter their body with it being mainstream and it's simply another aspect of daily life, getting worked up over a person being one thing or another in any way becomes just silly nonsense. So people became more open. Old hang ups over sex and gender die off as time goes on. Is it totally gone? Well no but it's had a dramatic change from what it is today.

2. It may be more open and tolerant but companies are going to company and now it's in a world where everything has changed with rules and laws being what companies make them. They do so in a world brought to it's knee's by war with cities being nuked and companies being the puppet masters of nations that have been pushed to the brink of total destruction. Crime and violence is far more common, you got people who practically live online to escape the horrors of reality, it's a harder fight to get more eyeballs on a product. What do you do in a world has been pushed to the brink and people able to close themselves off to anything going around them. You push things to extremes that far out do what was previously considered extreme or acceptable. Sex, guns, food, anything you can think of gets pushed in ways that would have people in todays world screaming over. You know, the typical think of the children folk and others who take such advertisements directly as an assault on their life style/religious beliefs and all that nutty stuff. It's why you see what you do in the cities, the world is hosed, the city your in is hosed and corporations play their part in making it be so as they chase the mighty dollar and seek to have more power and influence over everything. To gain control over everything.

So you get one aspect of life that's changed for the better, meanwhile you got the polar opposite that is willing to exploit the first in every way possible along with everything else that exist. It's why posters and commercials get more provocative, it's all about getting a reaction from people in a world that is largely hosed up and people exposed to the horrors of life. Everything becomes more in your face than ever before and so it goes being pushed to further extremes as the old ones become yesterdays news and considered tame after a time.

W3 had pretty significant bug fixes and content changes post launch. I know people like to go 'lol walkspeed', but 1.0 had a lot of issues with animation priority jank and queued actions/button presses leading to situations where there was upwards of a 5 second delay between hitting a button and your character actually doing it because it's still playing the animation of him slowing to a stop or him trying to line up correctly to get on his horse, ect. Originally it was designer intent that the animations be more deliberate but they specifically walked back on it after the feedback of 1.0.

Edit: W3 Geralt also turned around with the grace of a garbage truck too and it made precision movement more difficult than it should have been.

I had zero issues with how Geralt moved or fought. I've read many post where people discussed what your talking about here but for me again, no issues. Honestly it felt like people were making mountains out of molehills.

Is it normal for companies to release a system requirements rubric for what appears to be 25-30 fps?

I'm seriously asking. I just built my PC in October and paid little attention to this stuff when I was playing games that could run on a laptop. I was pretty surprised by the benchmarks compared to CDPR's information.

Unless your a person who is always updating your set up every single year with the best of the best your probably going to be one of the more likely average PC gamer whose settings are somewhere in the middle of the road. Reviewers and benchmarkers tend to have a bad habit of using and show casing the best and latest new graphics cards for example and not what the average user will have.

Check out the steam stats for what people have and it may be a revelation to you, the way a lot of PC folks online talk you'd think everyone had these fancy high performance cards but in reality they are a very small amount of people.

This is now fully installed and patched to v1.02, taking up 102GB.

The old HD's due to some technical mumbo jumbo requires these big sizes, with SDD's you'll see it going down as it can handle things better than the standard HD.

From what I've read Nomads are way more complex than redneck, though I got those vibes at first before learning about the lore. They're like socialist techno cossacks/gypsies who reject society and survive in the mad max wastes by smuggling stuff or raiding corporate convoys. Their free spirit means they harbor actual radicals, intellectuals, and outcasts from the corporate world. Also war vets from the wars, though that aligns them with the :usa: gang because its also made up of a bunch of corporate war vets that got hosed over

Nomads will take anyone as long as that person will help defend and give back to the community. One for all and all for one does explain them rather well.
