Green and Orr are correct, Coffey is not, which surprised me.

Green had 18 in 2008-09, and Orr had 16 in 1974-75.

I have to guess Coffey did this, although I know those Oilers team have a lot less PP goals than you would think. Probably Orr, too, although I wonder about the era.

Mike Green probably did this. With that same mindset, Brent Burns, too.

Just gonna throw out Bourque as a possibility.

Burns and Bourque are not correct.

Going with Als MacInnis and Iafrate

MacInnis got to 17 in 90-91, correct. Iafrate's high was 11.

So we have Green, Orr, and MacInnis, with 5 left.

That stat is definitely not going to be from recent players. Im guessing late 80s-90s for most of them.

Al MacInnis had a wild career so he wouldnt surprise me, and gently caress Scott Stevens probably did it at least once on those early Devils teams. Shea Weber has to be the most recent? Or :gonchar:?

Stevens is the one I didn't think would be guessed easily. He did it in 84-85 for Washington with 16.

Doug Wilson? Potvin? Duchesne? Leetch? Zubov?

I am trying to think of random high-scoring years.

Potvin got 18 in 75-76, Leetch got 17 in 93-94.

Phaneuf got 16 in 05-06.

All we are missing now? The all-time leader, alone in first place, with 19. Who was it?

Sheldon Souray did 19 in Montreal in the late 2000s, which I think is or was the record, and it kept them doing the same "pass to the d-man" strategy until Shea Weber died for a finals appearance

Yep, Souray did it in 06-07. That's everyone!

Quick one: two defensemen have ever recorded more than 16 game-winning assists in a single season. Who are they?

Hint: Both did it later than 1990, so you can rule out Coffey/Orr/Potvin etc.
Hint #2 Both did it for the same franchise and both were 23 when they did it.
Hint #3 One did it within the last five years.

Fox is one, in 21-22 he has 18. The other is not Leetch or McD but I think someone is gonna get it very soon now that we know it's a Ranger.

The other guy has the record with 20.

Of course it is. Zubov is king.

Quick easy one.

Name the five players who have over 1,000 points and less than 1,000 games played. 2 should be answered instantly, the other 3 shortly after that.

Yes to both. 3 left.

I think highly of SAS, I suppose.

Bossy is another. He played only 752 games and 10 seasons!

Fleury and Larmer are incorrect but great guesses, as both were over a point per game and just over 1,000 games.

Lemieux/Bossy/Mogilny. Two left.

I will say that both are always forgotten because they were overshadowed in their eras, but had two of the absolute best offensive production peaks in the modern era.

Hint: One of them had the most points in the 1980's decade of anyone not named Gretzky.

Goulet is another guy who had an incredible offensive peak and is always forgotten. Something about playing for Quebec I guess. He did, however, play 1,089 games.

Denis Potvin wound up playing 1,060 games.

The other two are Stastny and LaFontaine!

Which player put up the most points for the New York Islanders in the 1990's?

This feels like a trick question. Pat Lafontaine put up a ton of points, but now I don't remember how long he played for the Islanders, or when that period time actually was.

I am also now realizing as I think out loud, I don't remember who played for the Islanders during the 90's.

Every name I am thinking of were players who played later, like Yashin, Satan, or Peca. I also don't think Turgeon played there long enough. Maybe Palffy?

LaFontaine mostly put those points up in the late 80's. Turgeon and Palffy weren't there long enough.

The answer is Derek King!

Who led the Blue Jackets in scoring in their inaugural 2000-01 season?

Bonus points for whoever can get the 2nd leading scorer (spoiler, you won't).

More bonus points: who was their captain?

The 2nd leading scorer was Espen Knutsen lol. Lyle Odelein was captain.

Speaking of expansion teams, I have a question about the Nashville Predators. In their expansion draft, the Predators selected three players that would later become head coaches at the NHL level. Who are they?

Hint: Two of the three are still NHL head coaches now, one was fired from head coaching but still works as an assistant.

Bonus question: 1 of the 3 never played a game for the Preds, which one was it?

Cool question. Random guesses: Bob Boughner? Kevin Dineen? John MacLean?
