Hateing things for being popular or following standard tropes or being drama filled romcoms is outdated. You should just embrace what you enjoy with sincerity. There's a lot of legitimately enjoyable parts to Quintessential Quintuplets that makes it worth reading/watching, and you shouldn't beat yourself up for enjoying those things in my opinion.

I did enjoy sign, and the pacing is almost certainly intentional due to the atmosphere the show is going for, but it really feels like you could have trimmed the fat and reduced it down to a single cour anime, which would have made it much less of a slog to watch through. From what I've heard, the movie is the best part of the franchise, so it might still be worth checking out, especially if you had seen the rest of the tv series.
