the biggest point of jank for me was that all the buttons for the abilities look the same so i could never remember which ability was which. did they fix that? how is the actual game? i played on SBemu and magicbane a while back and was fairly disappointed by how...static, i guess, everything was. everybody was using mostly the same template characters and it felt like a solved game. no matter what you wanted your character to do, if it was at all viable then the best way to do it had already been minmaxed. have the devs made any balance changes (any at all) since the ancient days? the steam reviews are full of people talking about pay to win, like you have to pay money to buy conc pots, banestones, trees, etc. is this true, and if so, is it as bad as they make it sound? i remember back in the day i had a half-giant templar with just enough dex to take ambidextrous at character creation. 60 int for skills, then max con and strength. you'd put Cleansing Fire(?) on a guy to dot him and drain stamina, then just rip him apart with 2x burning blade. it mulched scouts and did okay against minotaurs, i think. if memory serves, there was such effort to make it dual-wielding (as opposed to 2h using the traditional BGS) because dual-wielding had much higher damage.
