I’m watching the winter olympics while “working from home” and the amount of clive palmer adds I’m seeing is truly amazing. most I’ve seen is 4 in an ad break. my fault watching free to air tv, but it’s laughable that this oval office is pushing his “message” with shutterstock stock footage. horror movie right there on my tv etc

I went into the office today, first time since November. no one was wearing a mask. they’d wear one outside, but would take it off once inside the office. even hr had no mask on. shocking and a bit startling to see this behaviour up close and in person.

so i guess its time for deltacron to reign

My dad was a Vietnam vet and for years when I was a kid I was confused about how we pretty much worshipped the veterans from WW1 but pretty much ignored the veterans from other wars. It turns out there's a whole lot of people out there who view Gallipoli as the defining point of Australia as a new nation because it was pretty much the first noteworthy thing we did after Federation and it established The Aussie Spirit or something

God help anyone who criticizes anything to do with ANZAC day in the press or even social media, people absolutely lose their poo poo over it

it was a failed invasion! there’s other ww1 battles where we sacrificed more than gallipoli

my dad’s a vietnam vet as well and stopped going to his local RSL on ANZAC day because all the WW1, WW2 diggers would look down their noses to anyone else who never fought in their wars. “he never fought in a real war” or didn’t know what hardships were apparently. he did 2 tours and earned all that fun ptsd stuff for his troubles though
