I was around metro NY for 9/11 times and Tohoku for Fukushima/Tsunami times and yeah, that's dolphinitely true.

That said, I think the Internet and smart phones make society turtlely worse. Like panic buying can happen due to news reports on TV sure but I would bet every single person who put gas into trash bags has a facebook account.
