Yeah the Chinese just did an EVA a couple days ago, they have tons of moon missions in the works, and their Mars rover just completed it's 90 day mission. None of this has been covered anywhere in western media as far as I've seen, you have to follow chinese nerds or space nerds on twitter to hear about their programs.

Back when I used to drink I would do poo poo like that all the time. Pellet guns are delicate and have finicky mechanisms. I would get so loaded that I would forget that that pellet would fall out of the chamber if you didn't hold it correctly because the gun was half broken, then I'd shoot at the same bunny like five times wondering why the hell I was missing or if the bunny had armor on. The morale of the story is don't give gin and pellet guns to unsupervised children.

I was hiking deep in a wilderness area somewhere and while sitting on a mountain about halfway up I saw something like that. It was a white duck looking thing that started as a dot in the sky and it slowly started getting bigger. It kept heading directly at me over the course of a few minutes, not moving up or down or side to side, just getting bigger. Having a huge rear end IR camera in a solar orbit zooming in on the solar system would be pretty inconvenient to any clandestine operations, but if said operations are happening then sabotaging the huge rear end IR camera would also be a pretty simple task. I'm a big military history nerd and when I tell people this have they like to tell me about all the crazy WW2 video they saw of Omaha beach where the landing craft door opened and a whole bunch of marines got mowed down by machine guns. Then I would explain to them that no, I have watched all of the archival footage in existence for the whole campaign and such video does not exist, what you are remembering is Saving Private Ryan and it's been so long since you remember seeing it you think that is real now. This has happened to me with this specific scene in Saving Private Ryan at least five times now, people explaining to me that they saw it in a documentary and it's real. At least half of this thread is people just conflating some movie they saw with reality
