Is it misogynistic of me to think that the only reason Willis Johnson gave South Dakota money is because he thinks Kristi Noem is hot? He's a 74 year old boomer with a collection of muscle cars, I think it's probably the deciding factor between giving money to SD and not any of the other states sending people to Texas.

Biden's allowing for asylum requests to go through again, but they're still arresting hella immigrants. There was a massive, massive surge of youngs at the beginning of the year that flooded DHS/HHS facilities, but a lot of that levelled off with the Biden/Kamala "do not come" messages. It's pretty clear that four years of Republican rule absolutely wrecked the immigration system, especially on the humanitarian/asylum claim side. Republicans are treating it like the surge never stopped and Democrats are treating it like Biden's not doing Trump-lite things. The news coverage is abysmal about everything.
